This song was one of my favorites, and I COMPLETELY forgot it for years. The line "Every breath is a second chance" popped into my head as I sat here reflecting on celebrating my birthday yesterday, and thinking about how every birthday represents a new chance to live. Especially after all everyone went through with in 2020 and the depression I personally suffered within the last year.
Man I grew up listening to switchfoot. Their songs are so good there one of the only things in life that makes me think of good times and of the good things in life
A blissful sensation, just listening to this in the silent hours at night, lights off, eyes closed..

I started listening to this song since 2010 or '11 when I heard it from 97.9 Home Radio. I've also read it's like a religious or praise song. However, the lyrics finally made sense to me just last week! That was the time when my earphones were ramped up (which I normally don't do while at work):

Finally i understand the real meaning of the song. It becomes better and stirring too.
