I originally wanted to do a massive tribute to Blizzard North. After years of collecting my tribute content I realized I set the bar so high for myself because I love and respect Blizzard North so much that I don't think I would ever get it finished. I saw that this clip was so special that I think it should have been released this way.

And I refuse to play D2R because of Activision-Blizzard.
If it was Original Blizzard, that would be acceptable for me...

Thank you for this. As someone else commented, I too refuse to play the bastardized version of the original team's masterpiece. Also, D3 was trash compared to D2, but sadly it sold alot because of D2's reputation, and D4 will likely be trash as well. Torchlight and Torchlight2 were great, but people thought that Blizzard was the same as Blizzard North, and called those games copycats. Looking forward to more releases from David or anyone else from the original team (especially if its a true AARPG).

His hindsight is 100% how I feel about old jobs sometimes.
His explanation about the "lightning in a bottle" perfect storm of a team is just a perfect thought of old Blizzard.

i love david’s humility. he said he “helped make” diablo, which is true but a lot of people would have said something like i created it by myself or whatever

Gonna be interesting aging and describing the early internet and online games/etc to kids that were born into it. I'd imagine it being similar to people born in the mid to late 1800s who lived long enough to see the space race describing early cars and flying machines. You could argue that the internet was vastly more societal changing than anything else. And Brevik was a pioneer in the space.

Wow, this is amazing Xtimus, was really not expecting this but really have been wanting to hear from Brevik as it's been a while since we.heard from him (although I see that this is from the past). I saw two D1/D2 guys -- Matt Householder and Matt Uelman (along with that idiot, Jay Wilson) -- recently at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo where they held a panel and I just wished that we could hear from Brevik and the Schaefer brothers again. D2 is my favorite game of all time and I wish I could thank the Blizzard North guys personally for making one of the greatest games of all time. Clearly, the game was special because of how it came together, an actual game made by gamers who made the game they wanted to play themselves. Wish this was longer though!

He needs to get back with some of the old team and just make the sequel to D2 we always wanted. Diablo is dead anyway. Come up with a new IP with gothic dark fantasy. Diablo is more about the people who made it than the story or the name.
