Different kind of marketing, I like it
Thank you!
Love live UAD.
Short Review: Best amp sim so far! Great effort and congratulations to the UA Team!
Long Review: The Fender ’55 Tweed Deluxe 5E3 amp sim comes close to a real Tweed amp. Superior to any other amp sim out there. The feel is also there with the plug-in inserted in the Unison slot. Playing the Apollo through high quality monitors with the Jensen P12R speaker selected and using the Line/Normal switch set to Line, I get almost the same clean tones as my real 1953 Fender Tweed Deluxe Wide Panel (5C3 circuit) amp. Yes, I was lucky to buy this 1953 Tweed that was in a pawn shop in the Northwest a few years ago.
Another interesting thing about this ’53 Tweed Deluxe 5C3, is that it has a 12AY7 tube (like the 5E3) instead of the specified 6SC7 in the preamp position. This was a factory install, since they filled the larger cut-out for the octal socket with a 9-pin socket adaptor (Nov. 1953 build) and sealed the socket nuts with the same white paint. This was like Leo’s transition to the 1954 Tweed Deluxe when the 5D3 circuit had both 6SC7 tubes changed to 9-pin 12AY7 / 12AX7 tubes. The 5C3 and 5D3 have 3 inputs instead of 4 inputs that are used in the 5E3 circuit. In 1955 other “improvements” were included in the 5E3 circuit.
For the ’53 Tweed Deluxe 5C3, I also use an AmpRX BrownBox and set the AC voltage to be centered around 110 volts. What a difference!!! The ’53 Tweed Deluxe sounds awesome at the lower line voltage. Nice and warm cleans. Gets dirty further up the volume dial. The cathode bias voltage and thus the plate current and plate dissipation are now at the sweet spot.
Back to the UA Tweed Deluxe tones compared to the real thing. The UA plug-in starts to get dirty very early on the volume dial when in the Normal mode. The Line mode fixes this and extends the clean range. Between the sim and real amp, the dial settings are very different for similar tones. I’m also guessing that UA used todays normal line voltage (120 to 124 volts AC) when they used the real Fender ’55 Tweed Deluxe amps, instead of the 110 volts AC which existed during the 1950s.
To get an emulation of this Leo Fender classic amp, 61 years later is amazing. Indeed, we live in remarkable times. I hope UA also does sims for the Fender 1959 Bassman and the Fender 1964 Blackface Deluxe Reverb.

This video is awesome!
THIS is perfection
They nailed the latency!
I seriously got chills
i think that is good commercial & bad amp
This sounds really interesting, but I think that UA could never program a very same sounding digital replica of an amp. I wish they could, I'd be saving a whole hell of money, but you can't really compare these both. But thanks for your effort :)
And yet you didn’t model the amps interactive controls 😢
Just bought it. It's bloody excellent !
🔊✨👍I love loading this into a Unison preamp and just playing. It’s very inspiring. ✨Thank you for the preservation of a classic.
😍
I'm sold.
Corey makes me crack up.
didn t sound like a tweed deluxe to me...it is definitely something in that vibe, but not the same at all
Ha yah it is
This sounds like lifeless dull pixelated a****** marketed by young Magneto. Bummer...
Wes Anderson has a big ole footprint on EVERYTHING these days.
Is that Josh Smith on guitar?

AMO ESTE AMP 😍😍
you welcome...
cool stuff :)
i don't understand, do i need UAD audiointerface to use any of their plugins?
+CustomMelody yes you do, they are running all their plugins on external dsp inside their audiointerfaces or dps boxes.
+Encuentro Thanks for your answer!
Fantastic Josh Smith there!! I bet, he would be great person to do plug-in demo and possible comparison to real deal.

Funny at the start when they played the guitar I thought that was the worst most digital sounding 55 I have heard.
😱
I'm a big fan of UA. I use of lot of the plugs and hardware; A top notch company that is product forward in it's approach. This attempt at levity is devaluating your brand in my humble "internet" expert opinion. Give us the facts and leave the snake oil and comedy for inferior brands. The marshall plugin demo videos you guys did with Tony Platt setting up mics made me want to buy the product immediately, this one the other hand...
I totally disagree. This a great commercial and I'm sure there will be longer demos to give you what you want.
And every plugin has a 14 day demo. Go try it out and stop worrying about the marketing.
+Rob Smith I've already put the plugin to good use. The best Fender sim I've ever heard. I'm active on the UAD forum as well and there was a Q&A with one of the engineers, really good stuff. There will be demos of course, but it would have been nice to get some insight on how this thing was developed, waxing gibbous and all...
I nearly bought this plugin until I saw this jokey video. It's obviously not made for professional use.
The video or the plugin? The plug in is def made for pro use!! 💪🏻
@@UniversalAudio Okay. I'll try it, but the video makes the plugin look like a toy for hobbyists. "Fun" videos like this are vexing when you just want information, and diminish UA's professional image IMO
We like to have fun sometimes!
@@UniversalAudio "We" being the operative. I'm sure it isn't fun for YOU to make the same boring video for every plugin, but that is often what's most useful for us (or me anyway). ...okay, i'll stop now. i think you get the gist of my suggestion. thank you. i love you.
It does not sound and feel like a real amp...
Actually it does !
I love how they did this commercial. The "your welcome" at the end was like saying- every other plugin company is obsolete, and you will never touch us. LMAO well, I would like to try the plug in for myself as everyone has a style of playing.
where I can download for free this plug?
At least get a guy that looks like he knows what a Fender amp is. he looks like a car salesman or a dentist.
Am I the only one who, the entire way through the video thought "These audio examples must be the software, because that does NOT sound like Fender Tweed amplifier" ?? How on earth do they claim to have went to all this attention to detail, yet it still comes out sounding sterile, and peculiarly 'fizzy'. I can only conclude, after all of this, there must just be no one to fully recreate the sound of physical analog components and valves. I say this as a UAD fan, in general.
