It blows my mind with everything that's happening but just remember that vocal minority is louder than the majority.
It's a majority around the world. People became completely deranged after years of brainwashing. It didn't even take years, alone a couple of months of "Orange Man Bad" was enough to make people fume when they hear "Trump" especially here in Germany, people here have extreme TDS.
Not just louder, but also strangely more powerful. The Russian Revolution was "the Soviet Revolution" the Communists subverted the revolution. Likewise the French Revolution was entirely subverted by Paris and the Paris elites then spent most the time until Napoleon was crown as emperor fighting and suppressing the rest of France, 3 regions they depopulated in particular.
That's why with any political party I look to their extreme minority and I check to see how much of that extreme minority has media or political leadership position, because that one is the party then that I think is the greater threat due to their political minority groups.

Honestly I was pretty exhausted of seeing this topic around RUclips. I clicked on the video going in expecting to downlike it and unfollow you but was surprised. You didn't raise your voice, you didn't ostracize anyone, and you passionately argued your case against political violence. You helped me realize that I've been a thoughtless, toxic, and cruel person. I honestly let politics shape me and ever since Bernie loss I've been getting even more and more enraged. I constantly found myself triggered by online memes and posts and surrounded myself in echo chambers on Twitter. I let myself become hateful to anyone who doesn't share my ideals. I feel really bad about my actions towards you. I'm deleting my comment in your previous community post. This was a great video. I calmed down after watching this. You really touched on some character building stuff we all need to hear right now.

The best advice I could give you is to learn your core principles. When you learn them, it's so much easier to act in a consistent and ethical manner than when you just let what feels right guide you.

I found out about what happened when I was driving to my grandparents in Maryland. We were at a Pennsylvania rest stop when I saw the news on a tv there. I was shocked. I knew then that Trump was going to win the election. I didn’t hear about the man who died until later and how he took the bullet protecting his family. It tore me up. I don’t care about the reason. This is not okay. Even if Trump was taken out, we would probably be in a Civil War by now. That would have been the straw that broke the camels back. Absolutely horrible, no matter what anyone says.

I’ve been a chibit since like middle school, started watching in the late 2000s-early 2010s simply because I’ve always liked your takes and enjoy your perspective and the talking points you choose to cover and after watching this video this really highlights that. I have a little story relevant to the event.
When my mother was young her father, a Southern Baptist, had a immense dislike for Catholics. One Catholic became president not too far into the picture and my grandfather being raised with that disdain in his small WV community and reactionary (but usually a sweet man, which may be a result of ehat happened) wished harm on JFK then harm came. Did he celebrate? Did he throw a party? No. My grandfather left work, picked up his kids and spent the day in morning, heart broken that a man's life was ended and he had wished for it just before. This stubborn old man was able to comprehend in the moment, if not before, that what he said was heinous and what happened was even more so.
Today? These ghouls lack any sense of compassion or perspective that came so swiftly to a man from what they view as Ye Old Bad Times. Tells me that all the progress we've made has come with a lot of basic humane shit being lost.

I agree. It has just been very eye opening & disheartening to see. What rly surprised & upset me as someone who's apart of the vtuber community was seeing ppl like Krimbo & most importantly Trickywii "joking" about the situation & dialing back saying that they've "educated themselves." Like for real?! You can't say it with your whole chest?!
& the worst part about that is. Vtubers in general, aren't supposed to be political or at the very least shouldn't talk about politics. Yet cuz these prominent individuals don't have good impulse control, now politics have been thrusted into the community. Leaving ppl like me questioning if members of Vshojo, Hololive, or even independent vtubers such as Spite, Sinder, etc. share the same viewpoints, even if they never made an official statement.
& frankly, that sadly leaves the newer generation including myself to despise what the community has become & thus no longer want any part of it. We may still want to use a 2D avatar like a vtuber, but don't want to be associated with all the crap that comes with it. No thx to those popular who slip the mask.
It's hard to say what most Vtubers believe, because they smartly stay out of politics. The potential for backlash and harassment from trolls just isn't worth it. Corporations such as Cover also understand it is an unnecessary brand risk and do not permit their talents to speak publicly on politics. They don't even tolerate fans making political comments, which is much appreciated.
Unfortunately, I saw a tweet by a prominent vtuber which hinted they may share similar views to those that Chibi called out. I won't say who or even give away if they're an indie or a corpo, because it's not my place to speak for them. Nor do I want to direct any harassment to come their way, especially if I misinterpreted their intent. The tweet wasn't too explicit, but there was an implication that was hard to miss. I was disappointed when I saw it, because frankly I didn't expect them to post something like that ever.
They're free to have their own opinions. For now, I should be able to still enjoy their content, because at the end of the day judging people by their political opinions isn't really something I want to do. It's reductive and deeply alienating. We have a lot more to offer to each other than our political beliefs. It's something my group of gaming friends hold ourselves to. We've got people from both sides of the aisle and for the most part we don't discuss it, because that's not why we're friends.
I'm generally center-left, but I don't want violence in politics. Remember, those who are calling for bad things to happen to Trump, think about the other side and are thinking the same way about Biden. This is not okay and we need to dial down the toxic discourse. We live in a democracy, not an authoritarian state.
Always be yourself and never be afraid to use your platform to speak up for what’s right
The thing I always find so hard to believe is that all these people saying these things to you actually believe they’re the good guys. They really believe this.

Chibi, you have a very based neutral take on the situation; same with Asmongold, Rev, and Nuxtaku. There may be some backlash, but I think that’s unreasonable. Frankly, this “culture” has always been around and seething under the surface; the “shift” people are noticing is simply that they’re saying it all out in the open.
A lot of these people think they’re morally right to say these things because of how mainstream media has been reporting the news. They firmly believe they’re on the correct side of history and that it will protect them since Jack Dorsey’s Twitter used to shield this kind of behavior [Elon Musk’s Twitter Files]. But now it’s no longer the case and they’re experiencing rebuke like never before. Hopefully things can cool down and the country can unite; it’d be nice if everyone can meet back at the center like in the 1990s/2000s and get along again.
It is pretty crazy what people are willing to justify when it fits their ideals. As for the person talking about working on halo I'm not sure how people see games as so realistic they can't differentiate it from reality. I remember I had a copy of grand theft auto 3 when I was 5. My brother would monitor me playing it and ask me questions like "Do you think any of this is real?" And I'd go "No this is just a video game" Never once in my life have I thought about using violence to do anything unless it was self defense. And even then I didn't enjoy it.
