Untamed and the older games don’t get enough credit for how good the ATV side of things were. Physics, real riders, and much more customization than the bikes at the time.
I'm just glad the series still exists. The MX vs ATV games are so niche. We off-road power sports types are a very small group of people in the grand scheme of things, and an even smaller subset of us play off-road power sports style games. I know in my heart they definitely don't sell many copies of these games, I know there's really not many of us who play them --- yet they still deliver. For that I am genuinely greatful.
I don't disagree with your list, but I don't like how nobody messed with the quads in these games. Why always the bikes? Quads are cool too. I mean it's called mx vs atv, right? I guess I'm just too much of a quad guy to let that go.
Because people that suck at them say they are "lame". You suck at quads bro lol. I can run the same time at pine top on a quad as a bike but honestly more consistent on the quad
@@bugzilla9549 Graphically it is one step ahead, but if you remember that base game came empty. few vehicles and few circuits, and that was when they introduced microtransactions. and the level system was horrible. you had to spend hours running the same circuit to be able to unlock the other one
Supercross Encore is one of the best ones in my opinion. I’ve never had a problem with the physics and mechanics. Don’t take this the wrong way but it’s definitely a skill issue
It’s definitely not just a skill issue. It’s easily the worst one out of them all. It’s okay to like the physics and mechanics, it’s okay tell someone it’s the best because you like it. Let the majority of reviews and gameplay speak for themselves though. It’s not good based off that lol
@@theonewhoknows2my problem with supercross encore was how wonky the physics were, the menu design and how the art direction in the menu went, i also quite despise the hud and another thing i would like to mention is how we don't really have any licensed bikes (y'know, the yamahas, hondas, suzukis, etc) and you have to buy them with the dlc's, and also the game looks very outdated for a ps4/xbox one game. I kinda feel like i regret buying supercross encore cuz i felt a bit disappointed as i thought it was a major improvement than supercross, but it was a slight improvement unfortunately, i guess i have to cope lol, even though i had a bit of fun with supercross encore while at the same time getting used with it's flaws and great features, but that is a great game? nah i think it is a bit mediocre imo.
Mr Big Nutz, You've persuaded me to buy them ALL. I've been into MX bike games since PS 2 era. I love Freekstyle by EA Big. I tracked down Reflex on Physical so id have it forever. Other Vs and Supercross games I bought on sale for pretty cheap. Xbox doesn't sell them as cheap as Steam deck as me lady has one. So good days ahead for ya my brother from the North.
Alive has the best whips out of any of the games, the catch is you have to have the upgraded chassis and then you can do the best whips you have ever seen in a moto game ever. They are fully player controlled so there is a bit of a learning curve but once you get it they feel so good! Legit the only reason I still play it.
While the terrain in reflex would at times get you a little hoppy, it at least FELT like the ruts and other deformations at a greater impact. So you would actually feel locked into a berm, or you would actually have to think about your line more. Its a great sadness they “lost” the files for how whips and scrubs worked in reflex. Not only did they feel most predictable and reliable but your mid air throttle control could actually control them to when straightening back out. I only just hopped back into mx games since reflex, and the first one I tried was mxgp 2021, so far its been… a little frustrating but it does have some kind of skill tree beyond the un-expected glitches.
W for the Vid, agreed most at the time. I ve got over Ps3 and Pc like a total of 1.500hrs :D BUT the best Motocrossgame you can get, is Mx Bikes. Hands down, never played a better game for Mx b4
Great vid dude, Legends definitely deserves at least 2nd. Have you not played the Enduro tracks with the 24 MX DLC? Look under time trial-Invitational, some great Trail/Enduro tracks and the Endurocross from the KTM DLC is pretty cool
So the preload for Untamed is actually broken on the backwards compatible version of the game. On Xbox one for whatever reason the preload just doesn’t work 95% of the time. I’ve tested this personally.. playing on a original Xbox 360 the preload works fine but playing the game on an Xbox one the preload just doesn’t work it’s broken 😅 it makes the game pretty much unplayable.
Supercross Encore is my favorite of the whole series and I have been playing it exclusively for years but I also will acknowledge that it is a very flawed game and the only reason I have been able to keep myself obsessed with it is by finding different ways to make the races/championships harder to win. Reflex is objectively the best of the series though
And as far as the physics are concerned, you get used to them. I struggled with them at first too but now I prefer the physics of the game over every other MX vs ATV game. I absolutely hate the physics of Legends
The only thing legends need to do is add tuning 2.0 and that was talked about way before season 2 started and that was going to be detailed tuning to the bike and also they really have to fix the sit and stand physics in the game because when you try to stand up in whoops or a rough section on a national track once your bike leaves the ground while you were standing then it forces you to sit down other than that the game is solid
I’ve been playing since untamed on ps3, like a lot! And legends is easily the best game we’ve had, of course reflex was goated but the effort in legends is insane
You make a lot of good points in this video but my list would be: 1. REFLEX 2. Legends 3. Unleashed 4. Alive. 5. Untamed 6. All out 7. Encore I put All out at the bottom because the performance when I started playing the game was terrible. There was screen tearing, frame drops, and freezing all the time. I also never really liked how fast the game feels but it has to go above encore. I even thought legends at launch was better than encore, and legends was BAD.
Legends at this point in it's life cycle is pretty much a perfect game. Reflex was legendary for its time but Legends for me is way better now (at launch definitely not). Only things reflex does better than Legends imo are the ruts, bike sounds, AI difficulty, and the nationals tracks. For me Legends beats it in every other category
Still, the forgotten supercross tittle that came out before encore over all i really hope the do expand the tuning from all out. In my opinion for alive's SX tracks, they worked so well with how the game played and alive also in my opinion had the best gear selection to.
Windham has the same opinion as I do on encore. It was the first supercross game that came out with replica tracks which made it fun! They weren’t the best or very realistic but there’s just something about playing the replica track before the race even happens….
i only have Untamed ,Reflex on PC and Xbox360 and Supercross (not Encore), my top is 1. Untamed 2. Reflex (xbox360/PS3) 3.Reflex (PC) 4. Supercross Reflex on console Feels diferent that on PC and Don't like how the Quads Feel on Reflex, Supercross for xbox360/PS3 only has Supercross Tracks
My complaint with reflex is the absolutely atrocious free ride maps. So drab and bland. Obviously it's still a fantastic game but when I put Untamed down and picked up reflex that was my first complaint right away. Who remembers playing the demo before it's release? I believe you rode as Ricky Carmichael if I remember correctly
