In regards to game sales of Freekstyle, a PS2 game needs to sell at least 400,000 copies in the US to receive a Greatest Hits re-release, so it probably sold over a million world wide at a guess.
That would make sense, I feel like that would be something to celebrate and include in your earnings reports considering it was a new IP, but then again, this is EA of course 🙄 Thank you so much for watching, Love your videos Larry !
@@MuhomonoYT I'm honestly surprised there was never an Xbox port. I wonder why they left it out? But totally, EA are strange ones. And no worries bud, I really enjoyed the video! Definitely dropping you a sub now! :)
i think there was no xbox port due to the lack of bumper buttons it would of made the xbox version tough yo configure for even on gcn without the extra bumper theres no reset bike button
that could of worked would of been a tough and fun control scheme probably would of been a shoehorn for backwards compatability on xbox too assuming they didn't run into any issues using the likeness of the racers again
I know that freekstyle logo. Bought it again on the GameCube. Never touched it. I doubt it can hang with the PS2 version I grew up with. Good shit brother.
love this game. I remember the bottom of the disc was blue instead of silver/reflective. sleeping in the living room, on the pullout couch bed to play this all night. what a time.
i rented this game many times from my local blockbuster years ago - totally forgot about it but I just got back back into PS2 emulation and it's still a blast. thanks for the reminder.
This was a great video man. I had never heard of this game until I came across someone streaming it on tiktok a few weeks back so its cool to hear about how it came to be. Keep it up!
one of my favorites. no other game at the time gave you that sense of air and speed. and the intro music just killed back in the day, ssx had a great one, shaun palmers snowboarding had an incredible one by spineshank. and this one. i remember buying dry cell and spine shanks cds from hot topic because of these games.
I feel in love with game when going over to a friends house and then my dad bought a few games off a friend and lone behold freakstyle was one of those games. It’s a masterpiece and I still have it even in 2024!
I raced dirt bikes as a kid and because of this game in my first race ever I thought if you did tricks while racing then you would get a better placement 😂
I picked this game up a year or two ago but never got around to it. My backlog is killer 😂😂😂 but I still have memories of when thr ps2 first came out and I went over to a friend's house to play it after his dad finally let us. He had madden. Smackdown just bring it. But then seeing freakstyle blew my mind at the insane twist on fmx. I'll have to fire it up this week. Happy Holidays and good job on the awesome video. I know I got a copy of Shox somewhere 😅
Freekstyle honestly still holds up all these years later so definitely still worth playing. Thank you for watching and good luck on your search for Shox 😂

@@Mostillist The OG xbox had the black and white buttons in lieu of the bumpers.

This game lives rent-free in my mind.
I've played the demo on PS2 a disgusting amount of times.
That disc was so good.
The splinter cell PSM demo disc and almost all jampacks

I recently got this for the ps2 off eBay and it’s just as good as I remembered
Such a banger. I miss when video games weren't afraid to be video games

Not sure why they're not showing up. There's nothing showing in my held for review section. I'll pin a comment to the discord 👍🏽
