    Oh how I wish I had watched this before I sent my first shipment. I don’t feel the process for listing them is intuitive so you have made some things I was confused about, crystal clear. One thing that drives me nuts is why it takes 10-15 minutes to show up. I didn’t know that and ended up listing some books twice. Thanks a bunch.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. I am currently researching selling used books on Amazon FBA. So much to learn!!! Question for you...I don't understand the date and location purchased when you went to list the book. What is the significance of that info? And....the Bluetooth scanner, that populates what info on your listing?
    Thank you

    • @FamilyManFreedom

      No problem sulindajon!
      I hope this helps you in some way, let me answer your questions.
      Date & Location: I did this for my skus and for tracking which places are best for me to source. You do not have to do this.
      Bluetooth Scanner: I think this is a absolute need for sourcing and for listing items. All this tool does is act as a keyboard that reads the ISBN number.
      If you are using ScoutIQ and you connect it to your phone all you have to do is scan the book and ScoutIQ will show it to you without you having to manually type in the number.
      When you are listing items you need to type the ISBN into Amazon to tell it what book you want to sell. I connect the scanner to my computer and then I do not have to manually type in the long numbers... big time saver.
      The scanner is like $40 and I would not even try to do this gig without it.

    Hi there. I’ve watched several videos on the topic and haven’t been able to find out how long Amazon keeps your books if they don’t sell. Also, if they don’t sell what additional fees are associated with that if any? Thank you! Also, love the purpose/mission behind your channel! 😊

    • @FamilyManFreedom
      @FamilyManFreedom  2 года назад +2

      Hi there Jimena,
      First off thank you for the encouragement with the overall purpose of the channel. I think it really matters.
      Almost every job I have done and also entrepreneurial ventures have revolved around the time vs work trade with time with family being the main focus. Now my entrepreneurial adventures have given me lots of time with my family but there has still been a big hole of purpose beyond my little crew..
      Family Man Freedom was born out of trying to put a voice to the biggest WHY I do things the way I do. Obviously I can not just come on here an tell people that spending time with your family is important and that giving your wife time away to rest is important.. I need to try and teach a how to get there.. and that is where this comes in.
      Anyway, thanks for the encouragement.
      As far as your other questions. This is a great video topic and I need to research it better so I can better answer you.
      From what I see they have a couple of things you can use. You can just keep your books in but you will have fees over a certain number of days. You can basically give amazon the books and they will chose what to do. Or you can have them shipped back.

      @@FamilyManFreedom Glad you felt encouraged. It’s a great thing you are teaching and encouraging other family men to do. But in general it’s just something anyone can benefit from!
      Do you know if they charge the seller to ship it back? I know you mentioned doing some research so no rush to answer. Just curious 😊. I am waiting on Amazon to send me my post card to then continue the process.

      Hi Sabrina, I think you are talking about right after the product is listed.
      We are doing FBA so you do not have to pick anything, in fact after you list the product just go to the inventory screen and add another product.
      In the next video I mention more on the labeling and shipping.
      Thanks for the great question

    Hi!!! I have some of my daughters college books that I need to list. Not sure if I’m going to continue selling books or not. Would you still recommend that I buy the scanner just to load it quickly and my main reason for writing Is why do t you ship them yourself??? it looks like a pretty big fee to send them to Amazon and then they get a cut for shipping. Thank you so much for your advice. Every other video I have seen has been to try that make it a full-time business and invest a lot of time and resources. Thank you! Great job on making your family a priority!!!!

    • @FamilyManFreedom
      @FamilyManFreedom  2 года назад +2

      Hi Bridgeview, thanks for the encouragement.
      If we are doing all of this just to miss the whole point of being with our family that would be a shame wouldn't it...
      Anyway, you definitely do not need to buy the scanner. Also, if this is just a 1 time thing unless you already have an Amazon Seller account setup I would probably look to sell them another way. Setting up your sell by merchant account or eBay might be better.
      To answer the question about shipping it myself. For me the biggest thing here is the time independence, I want to put in the work when I want to and then be able to forget about it. If every time there was a sale I had to get the book ready to ship and take it to UPS I would not be worth it to me.
      Also since we are using FBA and prime the books sell faster. Last, if you consider that Amazon is handling customer acquisition, marketing, sales, and shipping I don't think the fees are too out of line... If I had to try and get a customer for each of these books I would not be making a profit.

    Do you have a video on how to upload your books by bulk, instead of one by one?

    • @FamilyManFreedom
      @FamilyManFreedom  2 года назад

      Thanks for asking.
      Right now I do not since to upload in bulk you need to have a professional seller account which is $40 per month.
      I am not selling more than 40 books per month to make it worth it but I might do it just for the saved time.
      If I was not doing the $100 challenge and I was going all in I would definitely do this. I heard somewhere that a good reference is that you will sell 1% of your inventory per day so for me to get to 40 books a month I need a consistent 134 books in inventory.

    Thank you for this great step-by-step! I’m attempting to list my first book and I also get the same listing screen you get with a standard price and a list price? And below that the $3.99 shipping is checked? I thought if you ship FBA there’s no shipping charge to the buyer? When I went out and looked at my own listing it did not have Prime badge and had the $3.99shipping charge. I went into each setting in my account and I see nowhere to uncheck that $3.99. Thank you in advance.

      Thank you for the encouragement
      It sounds like it is listed as merchant fulfilled.
      Did you ship the book in to Amazon?
      If it is listed in inventory you can transfer to fba I think on the box on the far right off the listing.

    • @trishrock3483
      @trishrock3483 2 года назад

      I’ve checked every setting and it’s FBA! It’s actually on your video that I noticed it as well. Under where are you put the listing price there is a grid with shipping and there’s a checkbox grayed out in the $3.99 box. Nobody knows what I mean by this LOL. I’ve reached out to Amazon seller and watched a bunch of other videos and I don’t see that grid anywhere? I have all these books I’m waiting to scan into my laptop so I can get started! Thank you for answering so quickly.

    Hi, How are you selling FBA without the professional account?

    • @FamilyManFreedom
      @FamilyManFreedom  2 года назад +1

      You are allowed to sell Amazon fba without professional account but you pay $0.99 per transaction.
      So as soon as you get close to 40 sales a month it is worth it monetarily but it also makes the process faster so it might be worth it earlier if you can afford it.
      For this challenge I am super bootstrapped so $40/month just for convenience won’t work.

    what's a csv?

    • @FamilyManFreedom
      @FamilyManFreedom  2 года назад

      Hi there Rhonda, a CSV is basically a spreadsheet that is turned into a text document. CSV stands for Comma, Separated, Values.
      When I say this what I am talking about is using a spreadsheet up upload all of the details instead having to click through one thing at at time.

    How many books do you need to have purchased before you can send them into Amazon?

      Hi Brooke Smith thanks for the question.
      I am going for a small move box worth of books. Or somewhere between 30-45 pounds.
      This can be anywhere between 25 and 40 books it seems. But, the main focus is getting a mostly full box of books to send.
