Lovely video as always. So much lovely sewing done. How lovely to meet up with sewing friends, too. Love the tweed jacket, very special. Have a great week.🎉
Wow Rachael your makes never stop making me sigh with admiration! That frocktail outfit was so pretty - just lovely and your Fleur blouse was gorgeous on you. Thank you for sharing your very precious Heather blazer with that spectacular green lining. I keep promising myself to have a go at a (lined) jacket so the Heather may be it. Just returned from holiday to a hot sunny day in Wales (😮 shocked I know?!) but as that certainly won’t last, the autumn plans are beginning. I probably shouldn’t crochet any more pumpkins but I know I will. I made an autumnal table runner a few years ago so I may have to have some ‘sort of matching’ placemats this year. Enjoy your week and thanks for your vlog as always. 😀
Hi Jan! That’s very kind, thank you! Glad you like all my makes! I would really recommend the Heather blazer!! A sunny day in wales sounds great!!! I will never tell you not to crochet another pumpkin 😂😂😉 I think I’ll give a runner a go this year too! Thanks for reminding me! Thanks so much for watching
Gosh that afternoon tea sounds like great craic😅. Love all your makes as always. BTW I'm looking forward to going to Belfast also. Can't wait. Maybe might see you there 🎉
Afternoon tea on a vintage bus looks like so much fun! Love your Barbie dress and love the Chloe dress for sewfizzteacated, the wrap around detail is very pretty. Enjoy Wicked, I've never been and really want to see it 💚
It was so much fun Tania! And delicious 😂😂 ong wicked is so good!!! If you ever get a chance to go I would highly recommend it! It’s just magic!!!! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend xx
What a fab idea to have an afternoon tea BUS! Brilliant. Love your fleur top, the colours are very pretty. Cute pumpkin quilt too. Always industrious Rachael.
So nice to catch-up with you Rachael! Love the pumpkin so much. I haven’t really made any foundation paper-pieced projects in a long time but I have a ton of patterns for it. Really should give them a look! Your Fleur blouse is just stunning and I love the pink tote bag! I think you might have inspired me to make the Heather Blazer now 🤔
"I watched one video and was clearly an expert" 🤣 That cracked me up. Loooove your Fleur! I am thinking about doing a Maison Fauve Frieda in one of my Indian block prints..
Hi Rachael I’m writing from near Washington DC. I’m a bit envious of your busy tea schedule. No afternoon tea recently but I have been several times to our local professional theater where they have a monthly tea. I have finished 3 pairs of trousers and am about to cut out a new tee shirt today. I toile everything because I have fitted issues- that awful post menopausal abdomen some women have. I always make a large abdomen adjustment. But a new pattern calls for testing and adjusting. Thanks for all your inspiration. Have a great weekend-Claudia
Hi Claudia! And hi to Washington DC! Afternoon tea is so much fun! I’m very lucky this week.’ I’m Sorry to hear you have so many alterations/adjustments to do! I’m sure your trousers came out great! Thank you for watching and I hope you have a lovely weekend
You look SO cute in your Barbie dress!!! And your Indian block print Fleur is divine! Gotta love that peplum. Side note: it always takes a long time to watch your videos because I must stop often to comment on something I love! Your cute all purpose mats are pumpkinly adorable. Now that the boys have seen all the pumpkins and decorations again, have they put in their orders for Halloween costumes? The fabrics you used for Adam's tote bag are placed perfectly. Your precious Heather blazer is perfect and the story behind the fabric is precious, too. The fabric for the Chloe is striking! You'll stand out when you wear it!
Thanks so much!!!! Orders for Halloween have been put in, and fabric is now washed.. all will be revealed soon 🦇 😂 Thanks so much for the lovely comments as always! Have a lovely wekr
Oh your Fleur blouse is so pretty love it, the bag is brilliant I love making bags I've made two this week a new make up bag and a project bag for my up and coming sewing retreat we are going to make pjs and I'm making the Carolyn pyjamas xx
Thanks Julia!! I really love making bags too!! Wow a sewing retreat sounds so much fun and I have the Carolyn pjs on my list , it’s a gorgeous pattern!!! Hope you have a great time!!
Hi Rachael, just to say, the Closet Core Ginger Jeans pattern has two styles and one is the skinny, low rise style. I made them a couple of years ago and they would have been great if it hadn't been for the dreaded twisted leg! That's why I suggested measuring from the selve edge and cutting on the single layer! There's nothing you can do to fix a twisted leg. I was devastated!
Hi Liz! Yes they were the other contender we were thinking of but used ash as Karen Marie had done those before. I plan on doing the ginger jeans next I think . I’m loving making jeans now 😂😂 the twisted leg is terrible isn’t it 😡 so delighted I cut this pair totally on grain! Thanks so much 😉
Oh, that vintage tweed! Just beautiful, especially the blazer/coat you made out of it. Using my stash to make 15 dresses for the "Project Dress a Girl" that is going on this month (4 size 5's and 11 size 12's, since Mari said they don't get too many 12's). Hopefully sending those by Monday.
The blouse is beautiful. The colours look amazing on you. I am still waiting on my jeans fabric but will definitely post to #sewjeanswithus once I get started. Meantime, I am making my way through the Styla Kodiak jacket in a stretch soft shell. This project has been piled in a corner in my sewing room since last winter so high time I tackle it.
Hi Nancy! Thanks so much! So glad you’re joining in with the jeans challenge too!! Hopefully the denim comes soon! Nothing worse than waiting for a fabric delivery 😂😂 Wow that jacket looks amazing! Hopefully you get that done soon! Best of luck and thanks for watching!
Lovely blog as usual! I am terrified! Haven’t sown much since the late eighties and now just getting started again. I have Adam’s tote bag pattern and am going to make 3 for my nieces and sister in law for Christmas/birthday. Using all Liberty quilting fabric that I have already bought for them so REALLY don’t want to mess it up! Wish me luck! PS I am from South Africa.
Thanks Sharon!! And hello to South Africa! I’ve been once years ago and had a wonderful time!! That’s lovely you’re sewing them for your family! How about making yourself one as practice first and then tackling the liberty fabric? It’s a gorgeous pattern , I absolutely love my bag 🩷 thanks so much for watching
Hi Racheal. Absolutely love your barbie dress and your fleur blouse. Can I ask... with your fleur did you lengthen the bodice at all?? I made a sleeveless one in the summer and just wasn't convinced so just looking for some ideas as to how I could change it xx
Hi Katie! Thanks so much! Love both those makes ! I make a straight 10 in the Fleur absolutely no alterations which is very rare for me and so that’s the bodice out of the pack. I’m 5ft9” for reference. On my first Fleur I lengthened the bodice and ended up shortening it again, I think it’s meant to sit above your waist. Sorry to hear you weren’t convinced! Have you tried sleeved or perhaps a really different fabric?
Hi !!! 😊 oh how precious! I bet every time you wear your coat, it’s like a big hug from grandmother 🫂🫂🫂💞
You’re so right! I’m very lucky to have that fabric of hers!
Thanks Rachael, great catch up. Have a good week. xx
Thanks Debbie! Glad you enjoyed it! You too!
Rachel, Your tote, your blouse, and blazer are very beautiful.
Thank you Zelda! I’m so happy with how each of them came out
