Ha! We were there last weekend i took my mom and she was popping a cork. No live shrimp though... we had to keep looking .. nice vid thonny tight lines and bent rods homey!
i have been fishing there many times. I'm new to Salt water fishing. But I have fished there several times with Shrimp and have never caught a Snook. All I seem to get is Pin Fish stealing the shrimp, with an occasional Pin Fish hook up. I have caught a few small grouper there and a couple snapper. Not sure what Im doing different from you guys. Thonny, I met you as I was leaving Desoto Pier one day about 5-6 weeks ago. It was nice meet you.
snook dont really eat shrimp as much as you think. Mainly bait fish ironically like pin fish. Snook fishing also slows down around the beaches and inlets during the winter time and they move up into the back bays. Try throwing bucktail jigs or baitfish style lures if you cant get any bait fish.
@@Thonny thanks man im getting into fishing and the spot i go is full with snook and i always see people catching them but i don’t. Any color right? Also whats weights would you recommend?
🌴 Way to go Kelsey ! 👍🏼 ya the water temps are down , but the fish are still hitt’n no sheepies today ? Did you trade in the Toyota ? 🤔 the weather idiots said it’s supposed to get up in the 80’s next week 😳, that would be a good time to talk to your buddy and go offshore 🎣
Thonny I live by bay pines, what area are you in under neath that bridge? You don't have to tell me the exact spot just the area you're in, was it in bay pines or Bradenton?
I needed something smaller and lighter since the shrimp I was using weren’t that big. I wanted the shrimp to look as natural as possible cause those snook were very finicky
@@Thonny wow, thanks bro. Even it's the first time I hear that, it does make sense, I learned something new, for me anyways, today. Keep up the good work, and maybe one of this days you will show us how to pick the best day, and the best time of the day, and what not, to go out there.
Hey thonny you did a really good job on this episode I liked it buddy 💯😊
Kelsey's hook set, WOW! Time for some high-vis yellow line. Great Snook fishing tips!

Bait Bucket is a good tackle shop, carries everything you need to fish at the pier.
They’re great!
when does snook season open? coming down from Minnesota Feb 16-26...wondering if its open then? Thanks
The whole month of March and April!
Is a 3 out circle hook to heavy or 2 out to heavy? For shrimp to catch snook?
I would go with 2/0!! You’d be surprised on how big of a snook you can land with 2/0 circle hooks. Get the owners they some of the best hooks.

Where you fish at brother 😅

Fort de Soto
it is the south end of the first bridge. Terra Verde.
That area with the broken pipes in the water. What area is that located in?
gandy. St. Pete side.
I appreciate it. I looked at Google Earth. Nice area with a good drop off.
If you need Mud Crabs let me know. I have a really good spot.
Why are you using j hooks instead of circle hooks?
I needed something smaller and lighter since the shrimp I was using weren’t that big. I wanted the shrimp to look as natural as possible cause those snook were very finicky

JHook?…. I respect your skill. I just feel circle are better for release.
What is your full time job Thonny?? I know your money from you tube isn’t paying that truck payment😊.
Who are u the irs
Kinda weird question.
