Playing for early checkmate or gambit tricks is fun, yeah but ı kinda love this new style. Play positionally, play for one chance in the game and winn when you get the chance. Easier said than done. But Danya makes it look really easy. Even in this level. Nice Sensei! We are on your way!
I'm only 1300 but I started chess around 8 months ago and was 100 elo when I started. Totally agree with you chess is just constantly making your position better than your opponents applying pressure and trying to gain tempo or at least not lose it. I hope to some day get to maybe 1500 or 1600 as the games get way more interesting to me the higher rated my opponent is

I missed the Danyas line at the15 minute mark of the video but I think found another one that wins material as the knight on b4 becomes a type 1 defended piece. The first 2 moves are the same as Danyas line Nxe4 Bxe4, but then white bishop to e3 attacking black Queen which is only defender of black knight. Only way for black Queen to defend knight is Qa4 but then pawn a3 wins the knight as black Queen is undefended meaning knight is pinned to white Queen. Anyway that's what I thought I saw when I paused the video. Massive fan of your videos Daniel!

If the bishop takes the a pawn at 7:00, maybe the bishop gets trapped by b6? Didn't run that through an engine, but looks dangerous for white. But then again, maybe black doesn't want to play b6 and cut off his queen's escape route - the black queen also might get trapped.
Also interesting is 5...a6!? If white ignores you, in some cases you *can* actually take on b2, since Nb5 is no longer possible. Most guys will go Rb1 (top engine is a3 to defend against Qxb2 indirectly). Then you can go do whatever, ...d5 is good but I think ...g6 followed by Bg7 and d6 is similar to the video and probably what many opponents don't like to face. EDIT: Sorry, I see you already discussed this move in the analysis portion :)
Yeah knowing you can sac the pawn on b2 is essential because most people play Qb6 and are like what are you going to do against it and you just give them the pawn for development and activity.
During this game at time stamp 10.30 just before he resigned, after white played Queen to C1 into a fordable square, could the game have been continued after Black Bishop takes white bishop, with Whites move & Rook takes pawn on e7 momentarily defending the e2 square?
After rook takes e7, you should ask yourself, what happens if black plays their intended move anyway? So knight to e2+, then rook takes, then bishop takes. In the resulting position the other white rook on f1 is trapped and will be won

(or takes with the pawn to keep the pawns together somewhat but doesnt get the tempo) in both lines white is up a pawn and gets a knight for a bishop.

Your brain should be tuned into this move whenever you've moved your c pawn. It tends to be most effective when you can apply double pressure to pawns on d4 and b2. It's pretty common in Caro-Khan lines as well.
I don’t think that’s a good idea tbh, as in case of blundering the piece. Danya will navigate the lost positions, but we won’t. It’s more than enough when Danya shares his consideration about exchange sacs, and explains whether it is sound or unsound. Also, it’s not like Danya avoids somewhat dubious sacrifices in the speed run, which he would not necessarily do in his own classical games.
If you wanna play this line as black, I reccomend the Agadmator Anti-London video on it. Very insightful and great to show to your friends at the bar and at the library.
Daniel, what's your take on the current Carlsen drama (withdrawal from STL chess tournament)? I would like to hear from someone level headed not farming drama just for the views like Gotham seems to be doing sometimes. Is there some merit behind accusations of cheating in such a highly monitored tournament like ST chess tour? if yes, what could be the potential technology used? Isn't it more likely that Carlsen is just a sour loser - given he already decided not to defend the WChampion title, maybe he is just fed up with chess overall already? Could this be some kind of tactic / conspiracy to mess with the results of the tournament, considering that now his previous games won't be counted for the tournament itself? Are you aware of Hans being banned from online tournaments on the grounds of cheating before? Are you suspicious of Hans's post game interviews/game analysis where he supposedly mentioned a losing line. (I was impressed nevertheless as a 1600(bullet)-2000(rapid) rated lichess player I am always baffled by how someone is able to just simply spit out long sequences of moves without any hesitation... to me it all seemed like an enjoyable and very honest interview. my theory is that the only difference between 1500 and 2200 is how often you blunder

Hedgehog type of position vs London is great. Have a look at Mio (the butcher) who has a great video on RUclips with a setup that's similar
