A big round of applause !!!! i really enjoy the Sound Board shows and the scarf story was very cool. kids these days will never experience the concert the way they were in the 70s they were spiritual ..if you got the right band on a great night, Thanks Spa Guy !
I was just having this same discussion with a group of thirty somethings- I feel bad for those that didn't get to experience the 'real' concert experience of the seventies/eighties. No cell phones, real instruments, and seeing live music was all we did then!
When Bob said he goes in off season to rejuvenate that struck and cord with me. I have been to Graceland over 20 times and almost every year since 2000 except when I built our house in 2011. People ask me why I go some many times, haven't you seen everything. I can't explain other than there is new things to see and it's just something I have to do and enjoy. It does rejuvenate me. I also say if I had to explain it you wouldn't understand it. I do have a scarf that Elvis gave my cousin in 1976 during a Las Vegas concert and she wanted me to have it because her kids weren't interested. My wife had it put in a frame by a professional framer. Nice video Spa Guy.
THANKS ONCE AGAIN,. MR SPA MAN,YOU NEVER LET US DOWN. SUCH GREAT INFO. THE SCARVES WERE SUCH AN INTEGRAL PART OF ELVIS'S SHOW. ANYONE THAT WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET ONE WAS GREATLY REWARDED. THE FOREVER KING👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑

thank you again so much SpaGuy for everything you do in the Elvis world and of course in the spa world. You know why i'm not afraid anymore?because i'm with the SpaGuy.
Wow I learn more and more about Elvis because of your videos when I think I’ve learned it all you upload another vid, I really appreciate you taking the time to make these, thank you spa guy👍👍
The best trilogy I’ve ever seen on RUclips riveting from part one to part three, I could watch and listen to bob’s stories all day long massive thanks to the spaguy for this magnificent trilogy.
Thanks Billy again. and to Bob Foley for great info. I can remember way back the storie Bob Foley told about Myrna Smith. I have read somewhere there Myrna Smith talked about when Elvis praying for her.
We the fans love FTD releases because you hear him phrase a song lyric different or he speaks ahd just for that slight difference it's a gem to add to the collection... Great video and amazing the info just about the scarfs.. Elvis keeps giving..
The thought of him at the gravesite touched me. I think he feels the same as I do. Elvis was special to me and my siblings and mother who are all gone now. I was the youngest and no one feels the same as I do. We really miss Elvis in our community. TCB
I so agree what Bob says. For me I have bought a lot of FTD for the sole reason of wanting to experience Elvis on a "day to day" basis. There was so little private information available during his life time and IMO because of those cds you can experience Elvis' mood and frame of mind of that day during that concert. Basically, especially towards his end of his life, you got a "look" inside his life as he seemed to only be "out in public" during his concerts. Which, BTW and IMO he loved doing....he lived to perform for his fans.
Totally agree with Bob about the ftd cds I've got most of them. ELVIS does sing the same songs at his later concerts. But they do sound different shows because he could sing higher on one song or be more tender on another. And the way he jokes around. And the sound on some of them are really good. Great information from Bob. Thanks again to the spa Guy. ELVIS IS ALWAYS TCB
@@marciachaves8129 Elvis did some fantastic concerts in the last few years of his life..But a lot of people think he was finished by 73. Which of course is a load of Rubbish Elvis is always taking care of business
Spa guy , Although I never had the opportunity to meet Elvis , my parents were able to meet him through mutual life long friends of Elvis and his parents . It was through J.D. Sumner and The Stamps Quartet as well as Gladys Presley's favorite quartet , the legendary Blackwood Brothers Quartet with James Blackwood Sr. My late father was a Gospel Music producer and promoter . Ed Enoch of the Stamps Quartet did get me two TCB original necklaces from Elvis for me . I also inherited a autographed red scarf from .y fathers name on it signed by Elvis Presley. Thank you for your great Elvis videos ! There terrific !
Ok ive just listened to black Star for the first time it was brilliant but it was a wise decision to change it to flaming Star. Billy thanks my friend for another great insightful and interesting video
Excellent interview...I sure wish the st louis show on june 28 1973 would show up.... before and after are out there...surely someone has it.....I was there
Very interesting and informative as always. Bob Foley seems like a very nice person! Thanks so much for uploading this. I always learn something new from you. Just can't get enough! You are amazing, Billy! Don't know how you manage to find all these things but I'm glad you do! Can't wait for the next part of your NYC trip! :o)
Excellent series Billy on Elvis’ concert worn scarves. My question is to Bob, do the Elvis’ scarves that were bought at his concerts have any value? I bought a light blue scarf at Elvis’ 1976 concert in New Haven, CT.
Billy, Thank you for this series, very interesting! Thank you Mr. Foley for sharing your memories. Would love to hear more from you about Elvis! Question SG...is Sonny's son still around?
I would characterize the FTD label as more of a "collectors" label instead of a bootleg label. While there are a number of live soundboard recordings released through FTD, many of Elvis' studio albums and soundtracks also have also been officially released by FTD, usually with bonus tracks containing studio outtakes and alternate versions. Plus, the sound quality on the FTD reissues of the studio album often surpasses what RCA has released in the past, so some are the definitive versions. The three FTD sets that cover his Memphis recordings from 1969 are unmatched for quality. For the live recordings, I think all of the FTD releases from 1969 to 1972 are worthwhile to own. There really isn't a dud in the lot. From 1973 onwards, one can afford to be a little more selective... as the song selections were less varied (especially from 1976-1977) and Elvis didn't always give his all throughout the performance, sometimes only rising for a handful of songs that he liked. The two-disc "Hometown Shows" release containing a 1974 and 1975 show each from Memphis is one of the best of the bunch from this later period. He seemed more rejuvenated when playing to his hometown.
