I bet this will be made the fastest thing on the track, right until a week or two after the sale ended, when it will be nerfed again for "balancing" reasons.
P.S.: CIG will nickel and dime their backers for every "want" that they have for as long as it's lucrative enough...and obviously paints are one such thing cause they're STILL doing it.
Which reminds me, what happened to the customization that was hinted at with the shop at,....was it Crusader? Cousin Crows I believe it was called. What happened to that?
"punches above it's weight class"
@@avon_c6199They realised that variants sell.
@@avon_c6199 They realised that Variants sell
You mean like the Fury LX.. Oh wait, this wasn't nerved....
Please stop posting these nonsene every time CIG releases a new ship.
Yes, CIG nerfed a few ships a bit after release. And to be honest. It's better to nerf unbalanced ships than having OP ships in the game.
And yes. It's a problem to sell ship and nerf them a bit later.
But let's be fair with CIG at this point. They don't always release ships and nerf them after sale.
Or where was the raft nerved? Or the Spirit.
Rather focus on points where CIG really makes BS.
The only race CIG should be concerned about is racing to finish the project on the deadlines they gave us 😂
Deadlines?
What deadlines?
Those arbitrary "we-are-aiming-to" deadlines? xD
CIG has gotten really clever in only vaguely putting out target dates in order to cover their asses when things inevitably fall through.
Still, you are correct that CIG should be more concerned with actually pushing this forward and finishing it......cause I can't shake the feeling that there's a high leverl of uncertainty and dread in the community that if CIG were to not get their sh!t together a.s.a.p. it could by chance tank the project.
I'd be more patient if what they have given us so far actually worked.
This comment is pin worthy
Remember HEX codes, modularity and customising your ship with specialised components? What happened to that game? Now you need to buy a different hull for everything.
Good thing most ships today fly like a whale on land so its pretty easy to keep my wallet close :)
Sure those things were put on hold when their marketing figured out they could nickel and dime us for everything that we want, cause they knew from years of other companies selling DLCs and stuff, that we'll gladly pay for everything.
The next and only time we'll ever get "true" customization if ever, is when CIG figured out how to make us pay for said customization options, or when they put it behind tedious grinding in the PU to incentivize us to just swipe our credit card cause that's much quicker than spending hours in a buggy PU mess.
CIG is banking on the Polaris so hard this year. But the servers are screwed. 2 or 3 capital ships put a strain can you imagine 50 capital ships!?
3 properly crewed capital ships would pretty much be most of the people on any given server
@@ThomasD66 so basically fleet battles are gonna boil down to who brought a second capital ship😂 Seriously though Im glad im done with this game the performance would probably be impossible to run for most people anyways.
the H in CIG stands for honesty
i held the pipeline
I see what you did there.. well done.
The dis is silent?
bro... I actually looked at CIG once for an H. LMAO!
That makes the 13th explicitly racing vehicle. 350R, M50, Mustang Gamma + Omega, P-72, Razor, Nox, Cyclone RC, X1 Velocity, Ranger RC, G12R, Fury LX, Pulse LX and now Sabre Peregrine.
Sure, there are different kinds of races but that's still a lot for a minor game loop in a game that doesn't do racing (or physics) all that well.
Iirc, the actual loop in the PU doesn’t even pay out atm, not to mention it’s absurdly low rates.
So even if racing was your focus (which happens to be me), you still can’t do it as an actual game loop. At best, you can kinda progress in AC. If you can find a match and place and slowly grind currency.
@@piedpiper1172 it does pay... the end result goes from not qualifying to platinum win. If u get a few wins or plat from first try on a track u unlock the next track in a series of tracks around Stanton. They are all cool race tracks in the PU, with the last one being at "miner's lament". It's pretty decent game loop in PU and obviously there's Arena Commander. Pay out isn't ALL that, but u can quickly repeat them in succession meaning u can earn a decent amount of ur fast enough n keep doing them, for example stay at one course and repeat plat wins.
Not buying any more ships... they all follow the same path
1. Ohhh, look here is a new cool ship for you!
2. Release - Super OP
3. Sale is over... lets bring the big nerf bat
4. *WHACK* *WHACK* *WHACK*
5. Is it bad enough yet? Nope
6. *WHACK*
7. Goto 1.
pointless ship with master modes
They started making racing at least a bit more interesting (as long as you don’t die) and then mater modes came.
No cash til Upcoming Pyro System(tm).
I wonder if anyone is even still racing... or trying to. The racing community was pretty annoyed with the "new flight model" and since then it has only been going downhill in that regard.
I could see CIG just selling another fighter in disguise.
I raced regularly up to 3.22 but i stopped with 3.23. its a shame
CIG will do anything to avoid dealing with their backlog of old and busted ships that need to be brought up to current standards, much less the backlog of concepts ships that have no game mechanics to utilize in game. Its almost as if they would prefer to just keep selling ships and avoid that pesky game development all together.
The racing variant of the sabre is just a d*mb easy cashgrab. It doesn't make sense to make high-spec racing vehicles larger and larger. This is a full mil-spec space superiority fighter. It's like saying Formula 1 needs a size-upgrade to SUV's. You don't want bigger racing ships cause you have more chance of hitting the track *facepalm* hell i didn't even know why racing ships had guns and a QT drive. It's not like racing vehicles are meant to go to tracks on their own power. You sacrifice *everything* for speed and performance. Snub size is just fine for racers like the P-72 and Fury LX. The Sabre is comically large for racing. Re hex codes: To be honest this is just gone. CIG is making way too much easy money on "skins" and they know it. We'd only ever get hex codes if people stopped buying skins. But that won't happen.
@NL0Gwenster caution, you try to bring logic and common sense to the table, but this is CIG :)
A big ship with a lot of mass would make a terrible racer. A ship like the Origin 350R with a toilet, a kitchen corner and a bed would be laughable as a racer.
(For those who don't know: Mass never goes away, mass is still present even in zero-G conditions. Each time you want to change the vector or speed, you have to fight against the mass of the space ship)
I agree with everything you say, but wasn't there talk a LOOOONG time ago about a sort of space Dakar rally kind of race? Where you have to go across an entire star system or to another system? Only then would I understand having QT drives and such. I could have sworn I saw a picture or something of racers going through an asteroid field, or maybe I'm crazy.
Not another :|
@Stafernisy Chris needs money :)
1200 employees ain't cheap.
@@CamuralLet them go bankrupt, SC will never get finished, and SQ42 will be DOA
@@Camural Well, that makes no scents because Christiano Roberto could pay his employees in quantum fragrance cologne.
@@Camural Wonder how many of those are actually working on the PU?
@fierox88 CIG had 80 people just working in marketing and this was 2 years ago. CIG has a lot of artists.
CIG doesn't have a of of experienced coders or software engineers, you cannot get many of those if you pay below industry standard.
CIG has a lot of young and inexperienced faces, but not enough experienced leaders. The good ones will leave after 1-2 years to find a job that pays decently.
They ruined the spaceship aspect of this game with Master Modes. It is hard to get excited with ships lately.
Well we didnt finish 4.0 but here is a new shipn you can buy :)
Those whales aren't going to fleece themselves.
What this game needs is more ships. All other game play is completely over done.
I know , I know there's worse offenders but something about a company rigging an advance stealth fighter as a civilian racer is very immersion breaking for me.
LMAO! Hex codes. Never gonna happen. Just like my MSR second exit...
I’m good with it to be honest - it’ll be flyable (because it’s just a tweaked saber underneath) and no one has to buy the paints. Will I buy one? Hell no. But this is the kind of ship CIG should continue to add until they get through the backlog of big ships they sold but haven’t made yet.
I realize new guys need ship creation experience with the smaller ship variants...
Curious what percentage of the ship creation crew are building the ships people have been waiting years for 🤔
i've not even watched the vid, however i'm getting real sic of the raven being bit off of and made into more....idk edibble serving ships.... the raven will always be the rare bird. All the ones after are just carbon copies.
CIG nearly 8 years ago: "Why wouldn't we give the end yser this functionality?"
CIG now: 🤑 🤑 🤑 🤑 🤑
I
Oh no, now I remember my Sabre before it got nerfed.
mm and racing is like a wet burning
They could give us a real hawk replacement and they do that…
Let me guess the fastest most nimble ship there is. You will become racing legend if you buy this new ship. in three months, they will nerve it into a Nerfed geriatric jazzy. What a deal.
If i see "pipeline" i stop watching/reading, i'll just go through the comments for now.
It's become clear that they lost key employees related to ships in the backlog. The whole project is just pointless at this point. Absolutely misrepresented, and I will go as far as calling it a scam.
Scam Citizen.
They should atleast be obligated to not sell ships that they are incapable of finishing. I'd also argue that people who have waited years for said ships should absolutely be fully refunded.
I can't wait for the Scorpius racing variant, renamed "XW-DS" of course, because a useless second seat to promote multi-player activities.
The marketing team is really lacking of imagination lately.
Speaking of second seats: I posted a straight forward question in Spectrum “ask the devs” today:
“Will the copilot of the F7C-M Mk2 be able to control both the top and nose turret when equipped, granting parity with the Reliants?”
Very interested to see if I get an answer (aside from non-devs saying they want xyz random play loop or system that doesn’t even exist yet added to the ship).
I just want to know if the upcoming premium dual seat ship will implement existing starter ship functionality.
The co Pilots only job is to press the MM switch! Ah, its going to be great
No further money from me (not a single cent).
Fix the bugs, implement promised features ... after that we can talk.
Racing? Really? That's like the smallest niche within a niche. A tiny number of streamers might do it sometimes. It started out as just low flying for a few before master modes when it actually looked a little fun at high speed. It's a waste of time to make a racer as it is, much less from a ship as large as that.
They should have at least called it the Hayabusa to give homage to the fastest motorcycle.
Just fix the normal sabre
Surprised it's not another hover bike.
>racing
Hahahaha.
why have hex code colours when you can charge for skins?
Another useless ship 😂
Oh look another ship I won't be getting. No interior, no cargo grid, basically useless. Useless Chris, means LESS than useful.
Racing is this lowest priority gameloop for any non-racing type game but CiG treats it as if it's the holy grail of Star Citizen. I couldn't care less about racing in SC, it's so boring. Where are functioning NPCs? Interesting missions? EXCITING ADVENTURES? Where CiG? SC has devolved into a buy ships for real money game.
man they win at making each variant uglier than the last
did he say skin or SCAM? 😂😂
Why still Sabreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Will that actually sell in this era?
@JagHiroshi in 2 months, Chris will be on stage at Citizencon again and he will tell wonderful lies again:
"We hit an inflection point"
"Base building"
"Pyro"
"When I saw the server meshing demo 3 weeks ago, I cried"
"etc"
People will forgive him and buy ships like crazy again.
Same procedure as last year? Same procedure as every year.
Ah, so this is why they are promoting a race event now.
Ah... hex codes. But why put them in the game (in 2016), when you can milk you whales for a decade to come?
Garbage, were is our interdiction raven just garbadge. Where is everything we were promised this year and every other year
We will never get hex codes if we would have we would already have them irs easy as shit to implement
