He said it is washing up liquid, nothing special. Any domestic detergent, or liquid soap is safe on rubber. The main point is not to spray lots of soapy water inside the tyre before re-inflation. Tyre shops use soapy water and a paint brush.
Keep looking for a set of 2 tyre levers made for the old school AA patrols about 10" long and you can hook them into the bead of the tyre and save your knuckles, very easy to lever over the same make and size of tyre. Your comment on inner tubes is they are only trying to keep the tubeless crowd in business. Go in for a puncture and come out with four shockers, new tyres and a magic tree. The best way is to take the tyre in using a different car and ask for the puncture to be fixed. They love you for this, honest.
How do you do this without puncturing the tube? I did this 3 times in a row and every time I punctured the tube and had to take the tire apart again and patch it and try agin.
I just tried to do this. I’ve bought a new tube from eBay. Took the tyre off the rim and placed the tube inside the tyre. Placed it back onto the rim and it’s still leaking air. Any ideas?
Ive had this problem with my mtb, do you use an insert between the tube and the tyre? If not then you might have got unlucky seating the bead and it might have pinched/cut/ripped in some way. Thats all i can tell you if there is no nails/pins still in the tyre.
Hi Chris, what insert do you recommend? I didn’t use one and the inner tube that I took out never had anything else inside the tyre. Have you got a link to a picture of what they look like? The inside of the rim was very rusty and sharp, I used a wire brush to take most of the rust off then used electrical tape to cover the rust, however the tape was slipping when I was trying to put the tyre back on the rim. It took some force to get it back on. Hi Mark, I may take it to a factory near me and use their industrial compressor, maybe see if I rush air into it at a fast rate it may inflate. At the moment with a car compressor I’m struggling to get over 5 PSI, I can hear the air leaking as I’m pumping it up.
I’m actually impressed he was able to get the tire off with those short things. Any larger of a tire and I believe he’d have had issues. I don’t think you could use those even on a 15x600.

11.04 is the hardest part of this operation and you skipped right over it saying it was "easy". Why didn't you show that part??
Thanks Mark. This came in very handy.
Good video. Love the accent.
Thanks for watching
Cheers for this and totally legal
Back in México we use this technique a lot, memories when I was a kid. About to attempt this with low profile tires and cracked rim, wish me luck.
Good luck Gasolino
What kind of liquid was used. Also you skipped the toughest procedure for mounting a tire. That is, mounting the last part of the tire.

Hi Mark love your RUclips video
Cheers Adam thanks for watching
Did he set the bead I didn't hear it pop into place
amazing how you manage to keep ten toes wearing those things while working around the shop
Why are you worried about being legal?
My kind of video. Use everything to hand, get the job done!

Little bit of WHAT kind of liquid?? Also, he read the PSI on the tire--might that not be different from the PSI on the tube?
washing up liquid
@@MrMeltedwellies I don't know exactly what that is, but thanks for the reply! Hand soap? Dish soap? Tire soap (haha)?

Just realised who you are mark, We’ve met before. I was one of the reps at Interski when you were there, season 18-19. Hope you’re well

The very part I wanted to see ( the final part of the fit ) and you skipped it and said, " that was easy " LOL
with a tube, you need to let the air out and then blow it up a second time, that way its seated properly
This video gave me anxiety when I seen the spoons you were using

Those blue tools he his using are too short. Use a long screwdriver or prybars, better leverage...trow those blue tools in the garbage...
Are this tubes universal fit?
yep
@@MrMeltedwellies been doing some research, have to go by the rim size for automotive applications.
I spent £25 on my small camping trailer, don't want to spend £50 on new tires! Be like Triggers broom 😂
thanks man this was tons of help...the directions on the inner tube box kinda sucked.
put a few pounds in it. works easier for install and valve 1st.

Legal in California def legal DownUnder.
Good idea for a linner

About to replicate this procedure for a tubeless wheel barrel tire
Why didn't you use a metal lever?
What is the size of that inner tube?
i think 10 inch
1:50 lol
Mark when can u do another video 📹
Hi Adam loads to come keep watching
cheers
Mark
Too short ur puller lever is😂😂
Hay Mark!
Hay Joe
Hi joe

Hi
Your metal sticker is too short dude.
