As a 53 year old, this evokes strong childhood memories. My best friend had a tough upbringing. He was from a rough family of drinkers & literally had nothing. Life was tough for him. Sam and the lads saved me!! After my brother took his own life because his partner took her own life 8 weeks before I found myself almost doing the same. Was watching a thing with Lewis Capaldi and he said he listens to Sam Fender, so this is the song I first heard. Was not disappointed. I bought the album today and have had it on repeat all day. A majority of the singers I listen to are from the United Kingdom so I wonder, do I gravitate to them because I was born there or because they are better artists? Sam Fender is fantastic. :)

Had heard of him ,mainly fom Dead Boys and Winter Song ,but my husband bought me his 2 albums for xmas a few yesrs ago and I absolutely looove them.Was devastated as I got the chance of a ticket for his concert at St James's park,but couldn't go because of my mobility problems!.We sat in Leazes Park and listened to him instead!

Listening to these lyrics hits very hard. Growing up this song reflects some of the times me and my best friend had. Hardship, learning and messing about… sadly he passed away in 2009 and I’ve never really recovered from it. He left a legacy and has a wonderful family who I am still in touch with. Thank you Sam fender for delivering these kind of songs that make me think of the good times we had as a youth and will tell my children about this. We lived and loved and were like brothers growing up and we were afraid of each other’s mothers 🤣🤣 god bless x

There was so much tension I was actually expecting a kiss near the end between the younger actors. But I think Sam is straight so I wasn't too surprised when they didn't. Anyway this is an amazing song and video. The two different timelines slightly confused me especially as it kept cutting back and forth but I admire Sam for going down the more abstract route. And yes one day he will be remembered as a legend.
I almost expected it too, based on that Tove Styrke video which felt similar. It wouldn't have fitted with the song which is more about violence and broken friendship.
