  • A guide for the basic installation/programming of motion sensors in your base (should also work in vessels I think), in order to activate other things (such lights and doors) automatically, only through movement within the sensor area. Also, a quick explanation on how to change your lights color and intensity is included!

    Pretty much the basic to make these work. This is a guide for setting up motion sensors in your base (should also work in vessels I think), in order to activate other things (such lights and doors) automatically, only through movement within the sensor area. Also, a quick explanation on how to change your lights color and intensity is included! I'm still not sure how the Circuits under the Signal Logic section work. But I think you can add an activation delay for each object (still need to figure it out, sorry!).

      So the Zorax can really go by foot to your base now and take over it if they find the core, instead of only attacking it through air? I've learned by my own to set up the sensors above and a couple more things, but I still need to dive deep into whatever else they've added new. @@WildJester They will destroy blocks to get to it. one time they went all the way across the floor of my bay til they got to my core destroyed it and the base started attacking my CV and my CV was attacking the base. I seen one Zorax killed him had to use c4 to blow the core they replaced because of the shields. had to put 3 on it at once. Then they put in a new core and i had to take that one out and kill the other 5 Zorax. By that time my CV took heavy damage and so did my base so i tore them both down and made new ones in a different place. Once you take out the Drone base they will not attack you anymore and or the Patrol CV base also does drone attacks if no Drone base.

    Great Tutorial. However, I've got one question. How can I get a motion sensor (or a lever or pressure plate)? I've even looked at the creative inventory and they are nowhere to be seen. They don't show up in the constructor menus, either. Help!

    • @WildJester
      @WildJester  4 года назад

      Thanks so much :). I don't play the game for a long time, but the sensors should be available at the Advanced Constructor, under the devices category, if my memory doesn't fail. I don't think the developers would remove them from the game. I suppose the other crafting stations, apart from the Advanced Constructor, do not have the sensors available, unless they added more crafting stations since last time I played. It's odd that it's not even appearing for you in the creative mode inventory. Did you notice if you have any of the search filters disabled or something?

      @@iknowwhatimdoingg oh wow, I've done a research, looks like the sensors were still in single player mode 1 year ago (found some patch notes from last year), but haven't found anything about them saying they've removed them from the crafting section, etc. - Would you like me to reinstall the game on my pc, so I could check if the sensors appear for me in the creative mode inventory at least? Maybe it can be a general issue for the single player game mode. Or open a thread on the Steam forums. It sucks if the sensors were removed/are not able to be craftable, since they were useful. • @WildJester
      @WildJester  5 лет назад

      Actually I'm not sure if that's possible, though try to group all your lights under the Devices or Signal Logic tab (if it's still the same way as it was in the past, it's been a while since I last played the game and it was updated since then), and see if you can edit them all at once while being in the same group. I remember setting them all up one at a time in a base I had, it's really a little boring.

      It's been working for me correctly by using any of the Numbpad arrow keys shown on the bottom right of the screen, as well with the key combinations for enlarging or shrinking the area. EDIT:
    found it myself thanks to your lead.
    -> make a new group in Devices, link it to 'Custom1' and put the furnace in that group. You can name 'Custom1' to whatever you like. For me it is a quick check before leaving base. Dont let the furnace run if you go explore :D

    can u make the lights do the opposite? like outside lights turn off when u go inside?

    • @WildJester
      @WildJester  6 лет назад

      Yes you can, it's all a matter of setting up the sensor area limits properly. Example: once you go inside/cross your entrance door, you'll get out of the sensor area limit that keeps the lights outside on, making them to turn off. For that, you'll need, obviously, to place a sensor outside of your base for those lights outside.

    • @WildJester
      @WildJester  6 лет назад

      It may sound a bit confusing but that's a way of making that thing work XD

    • @EvilNecroid
      @EvilNecroid 6 лет назад

      but what if i want my outside lights on when i go far away from my base?
      would i have to make a huge sensor area?

    • @WildJester
      @WildJester  6 лет назад

      On that case, the solution I see is to avoid placing a sensor for the outside lights, only for the ones inside of your base. So the outside lights will be on all the time. Though that will consume more power/fuel. You could also set a sensor for the outside lights to turn off once you are inside of your base. But you had to deactivate that sensor everytime you would go out.
