When l feel a little down l come on RUclips to watch reruns of Carol Burnett... like tonight and by the time l've watched a few l feel 💯 % better like l do now ... 👍 😊 .. May 21/22 ..
Carol Burnett Show was one of the best shows ever.... I wish they had done more reunion shows... Laughter is good for the soul and we need more Carol Burnett!!!!
My favorite show when I was 7 years old. Carol Burnett was a hoot! I remember staying up late to watch it on the black/white tv while waiting for my father to come home from his restaurant job. Fond memories.
I remember watching this show RELIGIOUSLY with my mom every week! I was probably three or four. When the end of the show came on with the credits rolling, and the caroon of Carol mopping the floor ending up with the bucket over her head... man! For some reason, that used to scare me. But WHAT a CLASSIC show! TV today comes nowhere NEAR close to Carol Burnett and friends!
If I could afford to get every Video of Carol Burnett I would because of when you are really trying to hang in there it's always nice to watch shows like this i.t puts a smile back on your face thank you for being out there
There are DVD's of some, like "crack ups" and "Carol's favorites" that have some of the episodes that you may be able to afford. Check out Amazon, or Ebay.
When me and my mother lived with my grandmother in Bayside I remember staying up and watching The Carol Burnett Show I remember every one of these it's so funny those were the good old days
Carol Burnett is the all time queen of comedy! Matter of fact the whole gang was the best. As a kid growing up watching this I had such a crush on Vickie Lawrence.
You're welcome, Scott. That's one of my favorite skits--Carol's knee-jerk damsel-in-distress shrieks are hilarious. I watched the CB Show that features it just this weekend here on RUclips--enjoy! And Conway says things in such a tongue-in-cheek way that I honestly am not sure if he was kidding or not about having married his Wiggins-ish secretary. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised.
I know this is an old post but you just gotta love this show! Always live, never knew what was going to come out of their mouths!! There is no current show that comes close. RIP Tim and Harvey :-( I bet you have our Lord bustin' his gut up there in Heaven!!!
We always watched Carol Burnett too. Wow, I forgot all about Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, but we watched it also. Thursday nights, it was always The Dean Martin Show for us. Also Gunsmoke and Here's Lucy. Great memories! :)
I remember how they used to judge this woman for not having cookie cut looks. So glad things have changed since then. Finally we can appreciate how pretty she was.
They never announced the names of the sketches unless they were send-ups of a specific movie, but this was one of several CB skits that had fun with a character from the 1950 Billy Wilder classic "Sunset Boulevard." She was a faded movie queen named Norma Desmond, and was played by Gloria Swanson--who was a fan of the Carol Burnett show and once appeared briefly in one of the show's openings where Carol talks to the audience.
I remember watching Carol Burnett on Saturday nights originally. I remembered that it was on after The Bob Newhart Show which was on after The Mary Tyler Moore Show. In the latter stage of the show, it was on Sunday nights.
I remember watching this as a child on Saturday nights. I always thought Carol Burnett was the funniest. I also remember the sound effects...like if someone gets hit with a punch you would hear this giant **THUD** in the background. Really funny stuff.
Ah yes. The Carol Burnett show. Give me Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Walt Disney World movie of the week, followed by the Carol Burnett Show, finish it with the Benny Hill show that we could only watch from the hallway, when my parents weren't looking. The last generation to actually use a home phone, and roll up car windows. I watched the show just to see the cartoon lady with a mop.
I remember Carol Burnett saying the curtain gown she wore was a Bill Macke original. He came up with the idea of using a curtain and curtain rod right at the last minute before they actually went live.
When you land on that opponent, you pick up this little bell and you ring it and you say Thoooooory!! And then, that opponent has to go right back to where he started, see, you pick up the bell and you go Thooooooory!! Thooory!! Because Mama, there's a little yellow fella, right here, that's just dying to be landed on!
@LILBUDDYRaffa It was part of a string of parodies they made for their "Salute to Movie Series". I think it was Season 7. I've always thought that Vicki's playing up the Jewish aspect of Maria Ouspenskaya was a stroke of comedic genius!
I recall the first time I saw the skit with Mrs Wiggins and the intercom. Laughed so hard it hurt! Unfortunately I think the humor in the movie parodies is lost on anyone much younger than forty. There really isn't any true entertainment on television any more.
Oh! I missed the part where Tim Conway married his secretary! {Fact? Fiction} Thanks for the info on Fun Package Tour #3. I'll look for that now. Thanks for your help.
You can find the full sketch here posted as "Cher on The Carol Burnett Show" by HeLeNaChEr. According to tv.com the name of the sketch is "The Not So Eternal Triangle," and it originally aired Sep 27, 1975 (Episode 3 from Season 9). I agree--it's a great skit and Cher's deadpan "ordinary housewife" is hilarious.

I was lucky to be a child when The Carol Burnett Show was first televised. Lots of happy memories.
So many hilarious skits 😂
One of my favorite Family skits was the Sorry game 😂👍
I’ve seen them hundreds of times. And I will watch them hundreds more.
Even Cher had to laugh at that line of "I'm just an ordinary housewife". That was hilarious.
Truly funny, Carol's really a great Comedian. No one beats her. :)
Carol Burnette Invented Comedy!
Thumbs up 4 this kind of TV Carol and company is still the best

I remember seeing that scene with the curtain rod, I was literally gasping for air, I was laughing SO HARD. Took me about 10 minutes to stop !
I love these, i remember watching them on TV, I feel so Old! LOL
Priceless
Vicki is great and all, but she could play Mama all day long and I'd never get tired of it : )
I remember how they used to judge this woman for not having cookie cut looks. So glad things have changed since then. Finally we can appreciate how pretty she was.
Hysterical! Thank you so much!!

When I was a kid, The Carol Burnett show was the highlight of Sunday nights... along with Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.
Meat? She eats meat! Can I smell your breath!? lol I LOVE CAROL BURNETT
The 8 dislikes know absolutely NOTHING about true comedy, or when TV shows actually entertained. I miss 70s TV.
I remember watching Carol Burnett on Saturday nights originally. I remembered that it was on after The Bob Newhart Show which was on after The Mary Tyler Moore Show. In the latter stage of the show, it was on Sunday nights.
ROFL This was the funniest shows of all time
Vicki Lawrence was a brilliant foil for Carol...this humour was way haead of it's time !!

Ah yes. The Carol Burnett show. This is so good lol, I wish they would play reruns of the show on TV Land or Lifetime or Hallmark or anything! I just need it ;P

I'm not sure I believe in plastic surgery, but Cher's plasic surgeon should be in the Smithsonian.
That's man's a genius. She looks amazing at 64.
This was one of the greatest comedy shows on TV... It is a shame they don't make them like this anymore.
They don’t make funny variety shows like this anymore, because nowadays people can’t take a joke.
