Wow... that is such a dicky thing to say about girls. Everyone has their own type that they prefer and even if someone is not attractive to you that does not mean that she is not attractive to someone else. It is completely wrong and disgusting for someone to try to get you to have sex just because of your nationality. It's sad at this point that I am no longer suprised by the amount of bastards who talk shit about women online because of their lack of education and general respect for HUMAN BEINGS.

I totally agree with Koreans talking about you in front of your face. It's considered rude here in the states to do that even if the person can't speak English, and bad manners overall. So when I tutored Korean students here in the states, and they did that, and I was told by an older Korean woman I was tutoring that they were critiquing my appearance while I was trying to help them study, it really hurt.
I am a Korean living in Germany. I am watching this video and reading comments, while in a restaurant for lunch. The people at the next table are suddenly talking about Chinese and making fun of them with accents now. Thank god. At least today they don't laugh at Asian eyes out or throw stones.

Not really different from any other language. I've studied several languages, and I remember when I was at a Berlin liquor store, I asked for Koelsch brand beer, but b/c my German is American-sounding, the clerk thought I was asking for Kirsche beer ("Koelsch" and "Kirsche" sound very similar, but they are 2 distinctly different sounding words and are definitely 2 different words with 2 different definitions). I eventually found my beer, but I think I had to tell the clerk something like: "I'm sorry, I come from the USA, and my German is not so good."

Pronunciation has to be so precise ? Have you ever studied other lanuguages ? I studied Mandarin Chinese for two years and it has the tones system where each vowel can be pronunced in 5 different ways (one being neutral). Compared to Mandarin, Korean doesn't have any pronunciation specificity. The most difficult aspect of Korean is by far its grammar complexity.
I'm white (Yeah I'm obvs not my profile pic) and I was in Korea. They DO stare hard and they DO talk about you in Korean in front of your face. This guy at the hairdresser asked me if I understood and I said 'no' for the lolz. Then he said to his co-worker on how pretty I was, despite me feeling like a potato. LMAO. It was nice for once. The sincerity.
Haha I'm studying Korean and I was at home on the ferry and there were two Korean guys, tourists probably, and they were talking to each other about how pretty they thought I was; totally a milestone in my studies haha!
lol not so much dude. Americans I used to come across in Korea often had Canadian flags patched on their bags to try and escape America's reputation XD
@BobaFettTea Thefirst They are no close to perfect. But they portray to the world all disciplined and cute and innocent. Well at least America doesn't pretends. We show who we are.
@BobaFettTea Thefirst I highly doubt that this *cute and innocent* thingy is only in seoul and kpop. Seoul is a trendy and famous place in korea. So if they practice it there then the rest of Korea is no exception. And of course people would love their country I never commented about their affections towards their country, so idk what are you trynna start here. And no dear, America doesn't pretends to be this amazing place cuz it is an amazing place. Well its not only my opinion, foreigners who come here are themselves fascinated by America. And its kinda dumb of u to say about an immigrant living in a rural little town cuz yeah America is considered the richest nation of the world but it doesn't means that they don't have "RURAL LITTLE TOWNS". And the rural towns which you're talking about comes under 23% only. So ofcourse it comes under minimum. Therefore I can say that America does not pretends and its amazing
@BobaFettTea Thefirst Dear competing in today's world is hard. Especially for jobs. No matter which part of the world u go you gotta face challenges and discriminations. So i don't get it. Why blame America? Tho I never said America is the only *good* country
@BobaFettTea Thefirst Doesn't everyone favors their own country? And since u put America in a negative way about job opportunities n all. I said whats true about competing for jobs and Its hard to get a job anywhere. I was defending my statement and u say that I was favoring my country like its paradise. Paradise?? HAHAHHAHAskdjskksss Talk about over exaggeration.
I got really mad after watching this video. I am Korean too but when I hear something bad about Korean people from the foreigners, I feel really sorry for them. Especially at 4:38, they are talking about the bars and the workers did not let the foreigners to come in only because they can't speak English. What a shame.. Also, I agree that some Korean guys try to pick up some foreign students to have sexual relationship. I've seen that a lot in my school. However, there are also other guys who just want to be friends and get to know you. One last thing, don't give your number to the strangers in Korea.
Daeesung Baik Thank you for the information because I'm planning to travel with my best friend for 3 days ( because we don't have enough money to stay longer 😂😅) to Korea in the next years, so I know where I have to be cautious about 😁.
5:45 to 6:07 was the most akward moment of the video, I mean, if someone said that in a western country, we could call to racism. Wherever the country your are, its not normal, its not okay, racism is racism and should be eliminated.
You know, shes mexican, I obviously don't really know what she thinks, but as a fellow Latina, though I know racism is not okay, when I'm traveling out of my country I'm prepared to be treated as a minority and sometimes I expect the worst. Is not okay, but you have to be realist, and this is the world we live in.
Countries like Korea and Japan are amazing because they are a homogeneous people, they all have the same goals, culture, traditions. If you dont like it fine, but keep your bullshit politics away from those thriving countries and leave your currpted ideas in the west, no ones making you go to these countries.
@@adriannv2562 Country like Norway or Sweden are homogenous country, but still, they wont treat stranger like shit and it should be the same all around the world, making other people feel bad just because they are different its wrong, even in Japan or Korea. @nat I dont think so, in fact, saying the contrary is bad. Yes, at a certain point in history it was systemic and they were laws who were authorizing slavery and racism toward black people. But, its not because that historically racism have happen toward black people that it didnt exist for white people. Of course, because of the history USA with slavery, culturally, racism toward black is more likely to happen and to shock more than racism against white people, but it doesnt mean it dont exist at all....
As an Asian born and raised in America I experience the same thing as well. I've walked on the street before and have had random people yell out, "Konnichiwa!" at me (I'm Chinese, by the way and konnichiwa is Japanese...?) I speak fluent English. I consider myself more American than Chinese, by far. Racism appears everywhere in the world. Not just Asia. It may be more severe considering how America is considered a "melting pot" of cultures while Asia isn't nearly as multicultural, but still. Sometimes I wish to look like some of the people in this video so I'd blend in better. It happens to everyone. Not "looking" like they blend in. Feeling like you're sticking out, facing the prejudices that others hold about you because of your skin.
ZodiacGuesser I think you've misinterpreted what I said. I'm super proud of being Chinese. I love that I can understand the language and culture. It's fun to sit at home with my parents and make dumplings, or eat moon cakes with them during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Although I've been treated harshly for my race, I still appreciate that it has made me who I am today. I consider myself more American because I can't read or write Chinese (though my listening comprehension skills are equivalent to a native speaker). There are also a lot of Chinese customs that I haven't heard of. I call myself American because I'm ignorant of a lot of things most actual Chinese people would know.

I'm asian as well, though i'm not korean, but i have bad habit of starring at people. but honestly i don't have bad intentions, it's just that they're look so pretty/handsome that i can't help but starring xD
It's natural. Everyone stares for some reason or another. I have four children and fond memories of when they were very young. I catch myself looking at pregnant women and remembering that time in my life. Could seem creepy, so I try to be discrete.
What I mean to say, is that curiosity or interest, not being a creep, is normal. Just be aware of how it will affect the other person and control yourself and be discrete. 🙂
People love to pick at America for being unaccepting of other cultures but in reality America is one of the must diverse countries in the world. If someone wasn’t accepted into a bar because they are foreign it would be all over the news because things like that don’t happen there.

I am Korean but I think Korea is still conservative and racist. So whenever I see a video like this, I feel sorry and embarrassed. However, some of the problems that people face in the video are what happened to also Korean people. From that point of view, I also realized that our country did not develop into such a culture. I hope my writing will help Korean people to realize that they are also aware of our country's problems. Also, do not be considered discrimination when you visit Korea by watching video like this. Lastly, I would like to you don’t judge Korea based on the side.

The Mexican girl is sooooo cute. After reading the comments and realizing everyone else thought the same, it finally hit me: She looks like Lindsay Weir from Freaks and Geeks.
Koreans are usually nice but when they see foreigners they get flustered because it's their first time seeing a foreigner and they look different from them so they tend to talk about them
you probably are talking about suburbs or in a country side where there's not even Seoulers in such places lol Even if I go down to little tiny country side in Korea, they stare at me bcz I speak Seoul dialect. And I'm sure this happens across the globe. Like Americans making fun of Texan dialect and Canadians on Nova Scotia accent and Germans on Austrians or Swiss accents lol Not to mention countless Spanish and French accents and they all look different. From lighter skin colors to darker skin colors. Of course people will look at you if you look different than them. I'm Asian, in small tiny German suburbs, they stare at me like crazy. Do you have any idea how Europeans are racist towards Asians and blacks? lol What I'm trying to say here is that every where in the world, this happens. Not only in Korea. :)
It's funny how these people say "we understand were foreigners and we shouldn't be treated equally" yet when those same people from Asian country's come to majority white nations in America Europe Canada or Australia, suddenly they come demanding equality. Huge double standards
Typically western (white majority) countries are the only countries expected to bend over backwards offering complete and total acceptance of other cultures OR ELSE it's "racist" and intolerant. Meanwhile in other countries they can literally turn white people away from a bar or a restaurant just because they're white...That's somewhat shocking and surreal because that could never happen in a Western country to a foreigner.
@@BF-ln8di yeah your right but damn white people exprience racism just once and we complain. Big difference here is that Korea's a very culturally homogenous country that's only really opened up to the rest of the world culturally in the past 2 decades, whereas America, Canada, and Australia are all colonized nations, meaning that European immigrants barged into lands originally occupied by Natives, yet some of the descendants of these immigrants (modern day Americans, Canadians, Australians) have the audacity to consider themselves natives and treat recent immigrants as something lower than them. It's very hypocritical and they have no room to talk.
*My Korean is really bad. I know.* But I want to say this in Korean.
This is so true ive lived in korea for most of my life and just because im half american people treat me always a little differnt. I always felt uncomfortable because of people who ask me stuff that really isnt their business. And even though i have a korean nationality and have lived in korea for most of my life people think im less korean then they are. They often say stuff like youre like that because youre american but in truth most of the time its just differences in indivisuals. I have always felt like people try to accentuate the differences and gloss over the things that people have in common, because they want me to be differnt they want me to be different so that they can have something in common, i juat wish that people would accept that people can be different nothing els.
the mexican girl is so pretty.. as a latina, i think latina women are so pretty :) well, each race/ethnicity is beautiful in their own way.. i mean, we all need to love and appreciate our race/ethnicity. /sorry guys, i know that my english is bad haha

The grabbing and pulling is scary. I've had korean guys do that to me, and i can't twist my arm out. I suspect this is a normal thing in Korea, because i've heard many people talk about it. But if that type of thing happened in European country or America, girls would suspect it was assault, and cry for help. lol
It's not a normal thing in Korea too.. Although there is some weirdos, korean people also think that is not a usual normal thing. I'm sorry for you to have such a bad experience though
Walamonga 1313 murder, assault, and rape all existed in europe long before the refugee 'crisis', and these crimes will certainly continue to exist long into the future. coverage of violent crimes by the media varies depending on public interest and concern. these crimes all happened before, but i've never seen such a huge magnifying glass applied to it before now. if you look for a scapegoat long enough, you'll find one. not everything has to be politicized.
Been to Korea recently and the people were so nice. Like, even if you're not asking for help, if they think you're kind of lost, they will be the one to approach you first and guide you. What the 2 girls said was true though. If you're a foreigner, they will avoid you on public transportation lol. I rode a bus and the only vacant seat was beside me. A guy in his 40's saw the empty spot beside me, but he opted to stand the whole ride which I find kind of weird.
Since this country is not multy cultural we feel a little bit strange for foreigners, but I believe there's good will upon his attitude... Like spare some mercy to the tired looking traveler
I guess it is because Koreans tend to hope they seem like educated... like if you can't speak english or poorly speak you feel ashamed for some reason. This is kind of an old propaganda which came from confusianism so generations like my parents tend to have this sort of point of view. But new generations are not afraid of being seems like uneducated person so attitude toward foreigners are surely changing I believe.
I did not experience that at all. Are you a girl?? Maybe that could be why and if you’re white as well. I looked obviously lost throughout my stay and not once did anyone try to help me lol. Just a lot of uncomfortable stares from everyone. I’m Honduran btw
I have never had this experience yet... When I was in Seoul. People talked with me, never avoid me. Except 2 adjumas next to me in the subway... Staring at me and talking aha. And a old person talking to me in Korean near me, he gave me a religious book. But no guys looked at me... No guys followed me or something... It was very calm. No rude people talked me rudely... When I was lost, people helped me... And an adjumas stopped and said me: wow you're pretty! But I lived 2 weeks in a Korean host family and the host mom introduced me to her friends. I dunno, maybe was I very polite with Korean codes of politeness ?
When I was on a vacation in Korea with my family and we were eating at this restaurant there was a man (20 to 30 years old maybe) who kept staring at like in a creepy way with a really weird smirk and when I accidentally got eye contact with him he winked at me! He didn’t come near me or anything since I was with my family but I could see how he kinda tried to follow us when we were on our way out :/// and let me just get this clear: I was 13 back then!!!! Ik other women have been in soooo so so sooo much worser situations but still I felt very uncomfortable and creeped out 🥴😕😖🤔 (My grammar is probs not the best)
@@OuBnl honestly, there are men like that everywhere. It's really common in Latin America - most countries have huge feminicide (homicide against women caused by their gender) rates - and I've been in some uncomfortable situations living in Europe (even more since I'm a Brazilian woman).
It was kinda like that for me in the Philippines. When I went on a missions trip with my team, the Filipino girls would crush on me and my friend because we are Koreans and K-Pop and Korean dramas are popular in that country and they would find me on Facebook and sent me friend requests. Filipinos LOVE foreigners, especially Koreans.
Alex Rivas Hi Alex. Which one do u mean? The one with the Australian lady or the other one who was solely interviewed? I think both Mexican ladies interviewed are gorgeous.
I have the same problem like people will keep talking about me in front of me assuming I don't know Korean so I take out my phone and pretend to talk to someone in Korean. their faces as I look back at them are priceless😂
Why is always like everybody thinks that we're easy to go bed with??? Like the hell, maybe you gonna find one but if someone says no, just respect her decision dude 😒
I'm not a westerner, but I had an experience asking for a way to a grandma and she looked at me like three seconds and run away very far. I didn't even speak, I hold my map and was approaching her. But then, a grandpa was looking at that and helped us to find out how to get to our destination and even made sure we arrived safely by asking to the bus driver to take care of us.
That part also people don't usually know foreigners can speak korean. I can relate. My friend was cursed at the market by a grandpa because she asked the price of the shoes. He didn't display the shoes prices and my friend was about to buy. She didn't get that because we think it was pricey and he cursed at us.
Some Korean Ajeossi(means the older men) are very rude. Nortorious by that! They are biased and discriminate especially women. They dont behave well only in front of the weaker ones, women. In the subway or on the street they hit women's shoulder walking down on purpose. The funny thing is they are more rude to korean girls than to white girls. This cant make you feel good anyway. LoL They fear they look like a loser. When they dont know something, they get angry and become rude for people to run away before ppl get to know they are loser. The guy you met is also probalby that kind of person. He cant understand english and cursed you.
Not neccesary. Minority is respected in my country and actually are put before us who are considered a majority. Sure there are some stereotypes some believe but mostly we like to see people who're different from us and learn anything new we can from them.
Blerinda Hajdari what country are you from? because im from the us and feel petrified every time i walk past white people. anyone would would the stares they give me
but I'm really Russian xD I would be just surprised like "how did you guess my nationality right" if a Korean asks me "Are you Russian?" Now I know I just need to run lol
When I was in Georgia, Turkey and Poland, strangers kept talking to me in Russian. I'm a tall, blonde, English girl. I didn't have an opinion positive or negative, but it was strange to have just so many people say that I look Russian. 'Are your family originally from England?' What a strange question? I thought they must see a lot of Russian tourists. Watching this, now I'm wondering if they thought I was a Russian prostitute. :O
Vivian West I don’t think it’s selfish or demanding acceptance if you go there. Just like the people in this video, they wanna get to know the culture and people; that’s exactly what general tourism is. Do you really believe we want to force people to accept us, or visit a place like these guys? Why would you not be able to speak about a culture that is not yours when this is exactly what they are doing in this video? That is literally the sole reason tourism exists, to learn about and respect other’s cultures.
Im american and i wanna go to korea but im afriad some random dude will come up to me and ask to hang out or ask something else... :( Man....anxiety takes the fun out of most social things...
I like very much your video, I'm from Brazil, and we have the biggest foreign communities in the world, besides an historic colonization of many countries, like Italy, Germany, Japan, south Arabic, Portugal, and ethical groups like Jews, Africans, Muslims. I always admire the Korean people and I glad you're doing something for everyone who want be a part of a globalised world, where people can find a pacific way to live together.
That's the good point to live in Brazil. We are a country with so many different culture living here, so, we are very kindly with all the foreign people. We can see asian stereotype on the street and we supposed that they're brazillians too... It's not cool at all to feel unwelcomed wherever you visited :(
Yes. But there are lots of videos showing brazil in bad image. Like killing and cutting people day light. I know brazil is really really big so there are good things and bad both exist but i really got afraid after watching city of god(and i did like this movie).
@@amourfrance278 yes, you're right. But that happen because we don't have good politicians governing the country and leaving social inequality increasing, which increases violence. But it is not part of the country's culture to be violent, it only happens in specific regions. This movie exaggeratedly shows the reality of the favelas and prison system.
What I'm shocked THE most about in Korea is this one term mentioned by a Norwegian girl. Using the word "Russian" while implying a totally disrespectful thing. I know it's slang, I know not all Koreans use it... but still this term exists & lives on. Well, I'm Russian & am proud of it. And I feel really sorry for those who made this term up 'cause how mizerable can one be to even think of discriminating a whole nation just to... to... I don't even know for what sake. I really, really love Korea, I explore it a lot, I love learning more about it, I try & study the language & hope to visit it sometime... but this thing keeps bugging me & making me sad. Like... can I at least say proudly "Yes, I'm Russian" without risking of being misunderstood? Turns out that in Korea I can't. Dear people (not only Koreans, I refer to everyone), please stop using such terms. As well as "white horse" etc kind of things. That's really rude. Please try to be the best representatives of your nation & country.
I haven't experienced being asked if I'm Russian in Korea, but I saw a video where Martina from Eat Your Kimchi mentioned it too. It's indeed really disrespectful, and I feel bad for you and other Russian girls that they use it in this way. Maybe if you meet such a guy you should just give him a big rant, surely it will change his mind about Russian girls haha.
Im from east Europe and I live in Italy and Every time I said where I'm born they look at me like I'm a prostitute but actually I'm looking like a real nerd and form me this is disrespectful and out of my reality. I know a lot of our girls is pornostar but it's so stupid thinking ALL the girl in east is a hoe and want do something only for money. AND yes the people who have this reaction isn't old men but young boys like me. This is to be racist to me. And the people have a lot of prejudice.
all kind of bad people exist all around the world. but also good people . its just a mather of finding the right friends that care en support you. just because i like kpop and anime people judge you. and i get upset about that too. cause they think your like into hentai. WHICH ISN'T TRUE. COME ON PEOPLE GET RID OF THE LABELS ALREADY , I MEAN LIKE COME ON!! its so freaking annoooyyyiing
When I heard "You hear the term they ask if you're a Russian. That's basically when you know you need to run" (3:31), this makes me very upset! Please don't think that all Russian girls are like that! Please!
Theres many Russian prostitutes working in Korea.. so it's a common bias misunderstood by older Korean men. But most of the Koreans don't think like that.(Including me!)
In no one place should individuals be stereotyped by media or their government .. Most people do not agree of their politics and media is always stereotyping.. And yes just because some russian ladies traveled to korea for the sole purpose of prostituting surely doesnt mean all russian ladies are prostitutes .. Thats just horrible !!
yeah, why is that? one of my friends went to india (we are latino) and people actually took pics with him. is it really that rare to see a foreigner even if india has a lot of tourism and beautiful places to visit??
+Loreto O well I think the villagers mostly get really excited when they see diverse foreigners because even though they come for tourism, anyone from the west hardly lives here. but in the world there are a lot of indians, so I guess it will be weird if foreigners stare at us outside india. in indian villages and more rural areas, indians even stare at other Indians who wear western clothes .-. ps- im glad you think our country's beautiful ^^
I really like this video, i love how you just ask them for the plain and real truth and you let them speak about it, i hope more local koreans watch your videos so they can open their minds and eyes to see how they are making foreigners feel, and hopefully in the future more foreigners wont have to deal with feeling a little alienated ~ i hope to travel to korea soon myself for exchange or teaching english, i can't wait!
Watching this video really made me want to meet these 'foreigners' in Korea. They seem so nice and so understanding. I'd love to meet and get to know them. Thanks for uploading this video!
As a Korean myself,I know why Koreans behave that way towards foreigners. You know that in Korea there are mostly Korean people but like in America there are people from many countries? That's the reason why Koreans are so amazed when they see a foreigner. And in Korea,English is a school subject so some people want to test their English in front of foreigners. In a good way.Anyways I just wanted to say that not all Koreans want are bad.And some of the reasons people act all dirty like saying let's go to the motel and stuff is because they think that foreigners don't know a lot about Korea so they'll fall for their nasty tricks easily.I hope you guys be careful about that part and hope you guys visit Korea a lot!!
oh you are right! i mean like for example in America theres a lot of foreigners so theyre used to it but in Korea there isnt. but still, tricking people just because theyre foreigners.... thats just rude. like, just because they dont know the Korean culture well doesnt mean Koreans can treat them like an animal or baby that doesnt know anything
There are a lot of countries where foreigners aren't a large part of the population, but Korea and China are notorious for the stupid stares, dumb questions, pushing in line, talking about you in their language and more of the same nonsense. If Korea wants to be taken seriously by the world and get out of Japan's shadow, they will need to work more on manners.

honestly most of the time people are just more racist because they don't interact with other races. Simple as that. They see the cosmetic differences and from that just surmise that everything else is different too. I used to think like that as a kid, because I grew up in one of the whitest places in the world, rural canada. That all changed for me when I went to summer camp: 80% of the people in my cabin were either middle-eastern descent or asian. By the end of it, we were like blood brothers. I'll never forget them. It's such a shame, because it's not those Koreans' fault, necessarily, that they are so racist. They are just painfully, tragically, naive and unexposed to their long lost brothers and sisters.
its true even tho my mum has never been around indians or back people she’s weirdly racist towards them i try to open up her mind a little but it doesn’t work but the reason is bc she’s never seen one before and just believes the shit she sees on tv or the media and ignorance plays a major role in racism....
Korea just recently started to look like a good destination for foreigners to go check out/study at/live at. Of course there will be racism and prejudices especially from the older people, but if the waves of foreigners keep coming and are respectful of the culture and people, the situation should get better soon.
I've never gone to Asian countries, but the Asians who came to my country... Last year's summer i was a volunteer for guiding tourists (kinda) in Istanbul, wearing blue shirt with "ask me" written. Asians were just coming up to me and suddenly pull out their phones and take a picture of me and them without asking. 😆😆 They'd just say "thanks" and leave me in awkwardness. 😅 That's weird but i am still determined to go to Korea.
sergeigen1 I'm working voluntarily for that project as welI, even though i don't mind being photographed (for the project), some of us do. It's better that you come up to us and ask (no one will reject to that) instead of taking a picture without saying anything and leave, that's kind of rude. And don't get me wrong it's not only the Asian people, Arabs and people of other nations do it as well.
I think i can't go to korea next year because i'm really impatient/sensitive person when someone insult me i will like insult them 10x more. 😶 Ugh i want to go there so bad🤕 from now on i will practice how to control my mouth and my hands😑
Provocateur it is not true that “all” asians are racists... but i know some of Korean people avoid South asians such as philiphino, Indonesian, Thai because they just look a little different with them. I think Koreans need to change their prejudice and get education about this topic from their parents since they were children. And also we don’t deserve to treat with discrimination according to human race. I think Racism has to disappear all over the world. Human race is not important to live in the world.
Don’t let this scare you if you’re planning to go to Korea!!! These situations are sparse and do NOT happen every day! Most koreans are extremely friendly and want you to feel as comfortable as possible! There is some bad apples like in every country, but it’s not every day and it isn’t everyone! Seoul is definitely my favorite place I’ve ever been to! I spent over a month there and the only weird thing that happened was the staring and older people getting up when you sit down lol, but it’s few and far between! Most older ladies are really sweet and sometimes they randomly hand you a tangerine 🤣
@Menace to Liberal Society I believe that for sure and am not trying to dismiss those experiences. I don’t know the personal experience of streamers and I’m sure it must be terrible, my personal experience was from day to day life, not streaming.
I may just speak as a tourist but I am from Mexico and I visited korea 6 months ago with my sister and my perspective is kind of different... actually nobody spoke or observed us in any different way, they would just continue with their lives without paying too much attention to us xD yes, they are not the super friendly type of people but they weren't rude either and on the other hand, older people would approach us and start conversations in korean with us, even though we don't speak a word xD we would just nod "deeeee" and they would continue talking, it was funny and cute at the same time, but in general I guess they are barely getting used to have foreigners interesed and obsessed with them, they are still in that assimilation process, vs other countries like USA, Great Britain, France, etc which population is 100% multicultural, and you see people from all races in a daily basis ;)
Oof, actually, on subways and in public, Koreans are more seclusion, and foreigners are more likely to think that they’re secretive, and quiet, but in private, they’re more likely to show affection, and they’re actually pretty loud. (I’m Korean, and have a Korean family). And in general, it’s just Korean nature to not want to draw attention to one’s self. Koreans don’t like fusses, and that’s why a lot of little kids are spoiled. If a little kid wants something, and the parent says no, the kid obviously will throw a tantrum, and Koreans being Korean just don’t want attention, or don’t want to make a scene, and to avoid this, they will just give what the child wants
I am here in Seoul at the moment and honestly? If I approach people they are always polite and try to help. I have also been drawn into conversation by older lady's without understanding a word, but they are sweet and interested. The starring on the subway needs some getting used to, but I get it, I am a big, white, tattooed german girl, travelling alone, so people are curious. It's not that bad! What I find worse is the fact that there are cafes and restaurants that don't allow foreigners. That IS racist and should be adressed! You would never see something like that in Europe, especially not in Germany, no matter if the staff speaks English or not...
I’m Honduran and I went to visit my gf in Korea last month. People were always staring at me and they looked surprised when they would hear me speak English. I never felt completely comfortable but my girlfriend said it’s because Latinos don’t come to Korea a lot and if there are foreigners then they’re usually just white for whatever reason. I missed not being stared at back in the States but Korea is a really beautiful country and I’ll definitely be back.
I’m Japanese girl and one time I lost in Korea at night and 2 men who look like mafia wearing black suit with sunglasses followed me. 2 nice Korean girls helped me by pretending they were with me and sent me to my hotel by taxi. Everyone tried to help me in everywhere I went as well. I want to ask people who spoke in this video, is your country treat all foreigns so perfect ? they complained too much but I had bad experience in a lot of countries I traveled: Russia, Mexico etc ...
Koreans are right. they must protect their identity / race from multiracialism. multi-racialism / diversity destroyed the West. They do not make the same mistake as white people.
daniel carvalhana u should calm yourself and read a book since all races come from an ancestor that was African and black, so now imagine how mixed inside our genes really are. You're welcome for the anthropology's lesson
I'm sure you could find a group of other people online or somthing that are going to around the same area at the same time as you, that way you can stick with them and not feel like as much of an outcast.
I have been twice to Korea, and twice I have met amazing people, and whenever I was lost (I couldn't use my phone), I would always find people to help me find my way back. Sometimes people would walk with me for like 30 min until I get back to my hotel. I have met people who invited me to parties for New Year, who drove me around the city to show me every little details they think is worth seeing. From my experience, Koreans are by far the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever met. Even the first time when I arrived to Korea and after taking KTX for 3 hours to finally arrive to my destination, an old man in the train station hugged me and said "Korea good, Korea good!". And me, as an European, I was only worried about he would try to steal in my bag, this shows the difference of mentality between Europeans and Koreans.
i never commend but your commend maked me so proud my country. Thank you for loving my country! i really appreciate. We're just too shy to talk with other country ppl by english. that is why we look not to want to talk but actually not all of ppl are like that. Hopefully, you still like my country! thanks!

And not all of guys are like in the Video. JUST SOME OF PPL ARE LIKE THAT. Like as same other countries. So i guess not too much worry about it and you can see how it differs. I hope, you can could stay in Korea someday! :)
It's not just that. Compared to the asian race, the diversity of white people is much more vast. Lighter colors are instinctively considered more pleasant. Which is why blonde hair and blue eyes are so desirable, it's not just the media. While there are a lot of different types of Asians, there are just so many more different type of Whites.

Yea they especially laugh at people with "big noses". When i go to korea (for my studies), i wonder if they'll talk about mine too:( But my teacher told me "if they ever get to tell u this, tell them that they didn't get a nose" good tho haha
+Lili Mat U just have to be understanding. You can't expect to be afforded the same treatment as you have in your home country, in a country wherein you are a guest. Idk where you live but it's safe to assume that if a Korean goes to your country they will encounter some form of racism or be treated differently so I cant see why you would expect differently from Korea to you
+Jakey I don't expect anything from them lol u didn't get the point of my comment. I just talked about a true fact by making a bit of sarcasm. And I never said that they should change.
Lili Mat yea i know it was a joke. But anyone in korea many women get plastic surgery to have a taller nose anyway so you probably shouldnt tell them they have a small nose when youre in their country (yea again i know u were joking)
+Jakey That's in some way paradoxical, they made fun of the guy because of his "high nose" but they get plastic surgery to look like westerns. Their arguments are inconsistent *fuzzy*

my friend's uncle, who is white, went on vacation to the Philippines and he said he felt uncomfortable because many people were staring at him, which is understandable because the people of the philippines is a generally homogenous group so naturally they'd be curious. but other than that, they left him alone, but he was uncomfortable nonetheless. however, i'm filipino and i live in the US, but when i visited the Philippines, i caught a lot of people staring at me even though "i'm one of them." lol it's as if they sense when someone is american.
tbh I also stare at american people(sometimes) just because they look adorable and different (of course), but maybe we are way too shy to say "hi" hehe and just stare like totally amaze lol...that's what i think...I don't know if who should be sayin "hi" first, could be the foreign or local, hmm idk hehe

Try RUclips (I think people teach Korean on here) or Memrise (you can take "courses" there and learn Korean words and such; plus, it's free). And generally listen to a lot of Korean. I've learned 20 words or something from just watching K-drama. But so far, I have no clue about the grammar.
once you start speaking the language, people tend to ease up. and many cases they will help you or be more accommodating. ofc there will be odd balls that will be rude but if you have a friend (better if he or she was Korean), you should have a good time in Korea. Try finding travel programs to Korea with a group or make a group of friends and plan a trip together.
you can search for a tour guide if you want to visit there, it's a different case if you want to live there, you have to know at least basic korean and how to make a sentence XD
RinSigh u can take online classes or actually take a college class (more expensive). Sometimes college classes have exchange programs and u will be able to live in Korea.

It's the nature of men. It's easier if you loosen up cause then men loosen up.
So men not knowing how to act around beautiful women isn't normal? That's the first.
Wow... that is such a dicky thing to say about girls.
Someone should do a video where Koreans react to this video. I'm curious to see what their opinions are on this.
You just need to translate all the Korean comments here, then you know what they think about it :P
I'm not sure she wants to see all the not so nice comments here (written by people with an alias). A lot of them are attacking the people in the video and attacking white people in general :) It would be better if you could put a face on the comments.

Not really different from any other language.

Not all white people in general, they worship USA to be more specific.
lol not so much dude. Americans I used to come across in Korea often had Canadian flags patched on their bags to try and escape America's reputation XD
_I'm not so sure if want to go to Korea anymore..._

Oh wow, does that also happen a lot in school too? in what way, if you don't mind me asking?

5:45 to 6:07 was the most akward moment of the video, I mean, if someone said that in a western country, we could call to racism.
Wherever the country your are, its not normal, its not okay, racism is racism and should be eliminated.
Well in the west racism towards white people is normalized and promoted in media/culture/politics, so its not suprising they dont react.
Yes these country are amazing, but it still wrong and racist to treat stranger like shit because they are different.
If they were talking bad about me I would say in *korean* I know what you are saying..just because I'm different doesn't mean I don't understand....

Sea of Japan
Emperor Hirohito like you
Greetings, under-18-years-old Japanese male who created a RUclips name that looks like a Korean name. It is my opinion that your statement, assuming that eri139 is indeed a Chinese-American, is incorrect; Hirohito, emperor of the imperial Japan during the second world war, surely would not have 'liked' a Chinese or an American, much less a person of both origin, seeing as how Japan was at war against the two countries. Apologizes if I have identified you incorrectly, as I do not have access to the sort of efficient means of tracking required to be over 95% certain.

If someone wasn’t accepted into a bar because they are foreign it would be all over the news because things like that don’t happen there.
obviously, because it's actually pretty racist to do something like that.
That's why we love Americans

US has no official language so that is not even true. There are many places where English isnt even spoken. Where I live there are amish who still speak a german dialect, for example.
There are many xenophobic and racist Americans but at least half is not even close. Maybe in certain areas. Mostly these people are marginalized.

Not all koreans are like that thougt :)

Koreans are usually nice but when they see foreigners they get flustered because it's their first time seeing a foreigner and they look different from them so they tend to talk about them
That's not true in Seoul lmao you see foreigners there all the time
you probably are talking about suburbs or in a country side where there's not even Seoulers in such places lol Even if I go down to little tiny country side in Korea, they stare at me bcz I speak Seoul dialect. Do you have any idea how Europeans are racist towards Asians and blacks? lol
What I'm trying to say here is that every where in the world, this happens. Not only in Korea. :)
I lived in Seoul back in 2004-06. They still were surprised to see foreigners like me (I’m a Euro American)
@@nyocx there are many Foreigners in Ulsan also

Plus bet if the people being interviewed where of color you would hear way more sad stories and not hilarious ones lol.
Canada? The fuck are you saying ? Canada is so diverse. The only race that is being treated unfairly are indigenous

The grabbing and pulling is scary. I've had korean guys do that to me, and i can't twist my arm out. I suspect this is a normal thing in Korea, because i've heard many people talk about it. But if that type of thing happened in European country or America, girls would suspect it was assault, and cry for help. lol
If that happened in Europe you'd have to take it or else someone would call you racist for fending off a muslim. Then you'd be found dead in a ditch.
Walamonga 1313 Unbelievable how racist can you be with a community of millions of persons. Truly disgusting.
It's not a normal thing in Korea too.. Although there is some weirdos, korean people also think that is not a usual normal thing. I'm sorry for you to have such a bad experience though
Karim Derdoura How is this racist?
Walamonga 1313 murder, assault, and rape all existed in europe long before the refugee 'crisis', and these crimes will certainly continue to exist long into the future.
coverage of violent crimes by the media varies depending on public interest and concern. these crimes all happened before, but i've never seen such a huge magnifying glass applied to it before now.

A guy in his 40's saw the empty spot beside me, but he opted to stand the whole ride which I find kind of weird.
ramyun girl its likely bc he is afraid to embarrass himself with his inability to speak English
Ik other women have been in soooo so so sooo much worser situations but still I felt very uncomfortable and creeped out 🥴😕😖🤔

Asian men are all like that . That happened to me in my own country " Morocco" . And still does happen . Asian men are the creapiest out there .
@@OuBnl honestly, there are men like that everywhere. It's really common in Latin America - most countries have huge feminicide (homicide against women caused by their gender) rates - and I've been in some uncomfortable situations living in Europe (even more since I'm a Brazilian woman).
omg.
That Mexican girl cute asf though
Alex Rivas yea she was really pretty
Alex Rivas IKR!

Alex Rivas Hi Alex. Which one do u mean? The one with the Australian lady or the other one who was solely interviewed? I think both Mexican ladies interviewed are gorgeous.
The one next to the Australian was actually American lol Americans have a bad habit of referring to their ethnicity not nationality
I have the same problem like people will keep talking about me in front of me assuming I don't know Korean so I take out my phone and pretend to talk to someone in Korean. their faces as I look back at them are priceless😂
Haha 👍👍👍👍
Nice one!
lol u got them ! 😂
I would just look at that angrily, intimidate the fuck out of them. xD
You should tell them something in korean too xD
LoL
They fear they look like a loser.

And the people have a lot of prejudice.

yeah, why is that? one of my friends went to india (we are latino) and people actually took pics with him. is it really that rare to see a foreigner even if india has a lot of tourism and beautiful places to visit??
+Loreto O well I think the villagers mostly get really excited when they see diverse foreigners because even though they come for tourism, anyone from the west hardly lives here. but in the world there are a lot of indians, so I guess it will be weird if foreigners stare at us outside india. in indian villages and more rural areas, indians even stare at other Indians who wear western clothes .-.

Jiny Kim pic please
oh you are right! i mean like for example in America theres a lot of foreigners so theyre used to it but in Korea there isnt. but still, tricking people just because theyre foreigners.... thats just rude. like, just because they dont know the Korean culture well doesnt mean Koreans can treat them like an animal or baby that doesnt know anything

Very well said. Unfortunately in homogenous societies like Korea, racism is more prevalent.

😅 That's weird but i am still determined to go to Korea.
why do you think they choose you to take a picture? and not other people? or were they alsp taking pictures of other ppl as well?
Oof, before going, just learn a little Korean. It will help you LOTS. Stay and travel safe, have fun, and good luck!

sergeigen1 I'm working voluntarily for that project as welI, even though i don't mind being photographed (for the project), some of us do. It's better that you come up to us and ask (no one will reject to that) instead of taking a picture without saying anything and leave, that's kind of rude. And don't get me wrong it's not only the Asian people, Arabs and people of other nations do it as well.
Oh you have been in Turkey? How was your experience?

Provocateur nope, im a filipino and i can say that filipinos love foreigners. Please dont generalize it ☺️
Provocateur it is not true that “all” asians are racists... but i know some of Korean people avoid South asians such as philiphino, Indonesian, Thai because they just look a little different with them.

@@한을정-g1l yes! So cute 😭
Astrid Rmz You're god damn right.
Huh. Thought Korea would be used to foreign tourists by now. There's so many international Kdrama and Kpop fans that love travelling to Korea
I want to ask people who spoke in this video, is your country treat all foreigns so perfect ? they complained too much but I had bad experience in a lot of countries I traveled: Russia, Mexico etc ...

daniel carvalhana u should calm yourself and read a book since all races come from an ancestor that was African and black, so now imagine how mixed inside our genes really are. You're welcome for the anthropology's lesson

Please go!
If you get the opportunity to go there and you want to go do it for yourself.

Orion Noiro exactly 😂😂
Orion Noiro never knew that. Always thought whites were worse looking than most.
White people define beauty, white race is the most shown on TV, internet and books. Remember what is beautiful is what we know most.
Well he is danish. As a danish guy I always found it really easy to hook up with asian girls. Guess it is just something in our blood.

But my teacher told me "if they ever get to tell u this, tell them that they didn't get a nose" good tho haha

Not letting in foreigners to clubs n stuff is racist. If it was USA they wouldn't accept that kind of behaviour !
Actually in NYC they have a club that only lets Koreans inside
really? what club is it
Circle nyc
those clubs are mostly in Gangnam. Hongdae and Itaewon should be fine
supa3ek That’s their business it’s their country. Asian countries don’t have to follow western ways if they don’t like niether other country’s ways.
Why did they hide their faces in the video because when I watched it last time I'm it wasn't like that
Probably one of the people interviewed complained and asked to be removed after the video went out
Oh this guy's name is Heechul. I thought the channel owner was someone who was a fan of Super Junior's Kim Heechul lmao

"Do I smell ?"
i feel so bad to find a comment like this TTTTT i apologize that some Korean people are rude(im Korean). i really hope the Korean culture changes a bit. :) also, you probably dont smell bad so cheer up! :) (i mean like when u said "i want to cry" I WANTED TO CRY TOO CUZ I FELT SO BAD TTTT)

It think the person who was assigned to blur their faces, should get a RAISEEEE
Maybe you should try to interview some people from different Asia countries e.g Philippines, Japan, China etc in Korea also, I'm curious what would it be.. thanks +Heechulism
ooppss... why do you say so
I think that's a great idea. It'd really open people's eyes and spread awareness about this problem.
my friend's uncle, who is white, went on vacation to the Philippines and he said he felt uncomfortable because many people were staring at him, which is understandable because the people of the philippines is a generally homogenous group so naturally they'd be curious. but other than that, they left him alone, but he was uncomfortable nonetheless.
however, i'm filipino and i live in the US, but when i visited the Philippines, i caught a lot of people staring at me even though "i'm one of them." lol it's as if they sense when someone is american.
tbh I also stare at american people(sometimes) just because they look adorable and different (of course), but maybe we are way too shy to say "hi" hehe and just stare like totally amaze lol...that's what i think...I don't know if who should be sayin "hi" first, could be the foreign or local, hmm idk hehe
+Zen Daya I'm Chinese and all throughout my life I've lived in Canada,,, I decided to go to Hong Kong and China & Hong Kong with my parents for the first time!!!!!!!! I thought i would easily blend in!!!!!!!! Nope... Caught people staring at me and asking me where I came from!!??? LOLOL they were all like omg what race is your dad,, is he white you must be those mix kids,,, wow... 😂😂😂😂so weird,,,

Acceptance would open their world in a wonderful way, as I am learning to love Korean culture has opened my eyes in so many ways!
once i graduate high school i wanna go to Korea to Vist
only thing is that i'm scared how ill survive there without the language :(
and i don't know where to learn koren since i talk Spanish and english
