Chat GPT says this: Yes, the Colt 1911 (or any firearm) would shoot in space, but there are a few interesting factors to consider: Oxygen Requirement: Firearms like the Colt 1911 use self-contained cartridges that include their own oxidizer (gunpowder). This means that even in the vacuum of space, the bullet could fire because the gunpowder doesn't rely on external oxygen to ignite. Recoil and Motion: In space, there's no atmosphere or gravity (depending on where you are), so once the gun is fired, the recoil would push you in the opposite direction of the bullet. The lack of air resistance means the bullet and the shooter would continue moving indefinitely until acted upon by another force. Cooling: On Earth, the atmosphere helps dissipate heat. In space, there's no air to cool the gun after firing, so heat would radiate away much more slowly. In summary, the Colt 1911 would fire in space due to the self-contained nature of the cartridge, but the lack of gravity and air would create unique effects, such as drifting from the recoil and slower heat dissipation.

I picked up a 1914 Colt 1911 the other week. It was a reworked WW2 one as well. 1914 frame, hammer, beaver tail, and mainspring housing. 1911A1 slide and WW2 era colt barrel. WW2 grips.
I call it project 3 World wars.
I have given my grandpa's WWII/Korean war 1917 built, 1911, to my younger son. It had to be refreshed by an excellent gunsmith/machinist. During the Korean War, he had it nickeled and added dragon pearl grips.

These guns are legendary. It has it all: grip angle, trigger pull, and accuracy. First handgun I purchased. Mine has never failed to feed or fire any ammo I put through it in 20 plus years.
When was that intro filmed? Looked like pre-beard pre-roids Garand Thumb.

Speechless on the production quality of that intro. For a RUclips video. Hats off guys amazing job.
My birth certificate says I'm Gen X. My excitement level for this video says BOOMER. Even though I get more rounds, lighter weight, and "faster follow-up shots" with my 9mm's.... My .45 1911's are my favorite pistols by far. It's not even close. They always feel like the perfect shooting pistol.
Bro just needs too make a movie at this point his intro was better than almost any war movie I've seen in the last ten years
I wasn't ready for that intro. I didn't know I wanted WW1 John Wick with a sprinkle of Tarantino.
That was C I N E M A.
Shout out to the detail at the beginning, you can see a French soldier, 10/10 detail to include that.
Jesus, the beginning cinematic was amazing. God bless you and our ancestors that fought in the trenches.
Can we stop and appreciate how high the bar has been raised for cinematography in modern youtube.
That intro 🧑🍳💋👌I also have an 1918 US property M1911. My wife’s grandfather gave it to me for Christmas before he died. He asked me to take care of it. He bought it in the 60’s as a surplus gun. He only shot it a few times. I have only shot it once. I dual wielded it with my brother’s 1921 made M1911.

@@cjones070 That response wins the internet. 😂😂😂😂
Glocks are overrated. Owned 2, sold both with in a month of owning them. Tried different models and never liked any glock i ever held / shot. Main reasons glocks are so popular is because of movies, rap music, and being able to buy aftermarket parts to customize it. They're obviously reliable guns, but they're very overrated. So overrated that folks will call any pistol they see, a glock. It's like folks who watch UFC, and think UFC is the name of the sport, when the sport is MMA.
I honestly forgot for a second I was watching a RUclips review on the 1911 and thought I was watching a badass ww1 movie lol fucken amazing intro my guy

Intro was so good I forgot I was watching Garand Thumb and not a multimillion dollar movie.
those multi million dollar movies only a small fraction of the money actually makes the movie,
Why is it that Garand thumb can make a better live action than the Halo show?

Yes Garand Thumb you've done it again, awesome intro and love all your videos. Cheers from Jersey 🙏💪🏻
The 1911 is undoubtedly the nicest looking pistol ever made.
The Battlefield 1 OST is great
That intro is better than most Hollywood movies today
I've seen intense scenes in Band of Brothers that were less intense than this opening.
Hearing the MoH theme at 3:00 brought some chills. Some of the best games ever made. And I'm just gonna say congrats on that intro. You went all out on that one.
As long as it works. Soiled engineenering if it has been in use for 100+ years. If you went 1000 years into the future, this gun will still be made, why you may ask? GOOD GUN!

It's a common misconception that the US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The reality is the pilot, when flying over the city, simply shot once with his 1911
You are right brother, people don't understand that it is god's caliber that the pilot shot on first point of impact and the shell landed on the second point of impact later . 🙂

A new "Chuck Norris" style set of facts about the 1911.

Same thing with all the big craters in Nevada. Those weren't from atomic bombs, they were impact areas from 1911 shooting ranges.

Hear me out bro an f150 costs 50k and depriciates to 10k over 10 years of owmership it used to be 12 when they were built better but you lose a fortune. I bet if you buy a gun like this it doesnt depriciate like that esspecially if these days its a safe queen a lot of times. So to me its got value as a historical relic. It shows how far ahead we were they were selling these. Look at the first lugers and how retarded those things function. The nazis need a cuck cartridge
