But she said don’t worry about everything else and just use cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. PSA: The sun is responsible for 90% of visible changes to skin. “Many scientific estimates have shown that up to 80-90% of how young or old you look for your age is due to how much sun exposure you've sustained.” Everyone thinks it’s serums, face masks, and drinking so much water till you’re nauseous. Just use your sunscreen! Lol 😂😂😂 (Also still drink your water but you get what I mean.) Sunscreen is the most important anti-aging product!!!!
Unless you're smoking or tanning a lot, you truly don't need a lot of skin care in your 20s. "Prevention" is also a myth to sell more products. But if you enjoy it, it's all good
Just don’t get them too young, I’ve been hearing about little girls obsessed with anti-wrinkling products and all that. Like, 8-10 year old girls. It’s crazy
Starting a simple skincare routine young can be beneficial for long-term skin health and prevent future issues like acne and sun damage. It's important to use gentle, hydrating products and avoid harsh chemicals when you're still young.
meanwhile you watch the dermatologists and -especially for teens/young adults - they say over and over "keep it simple!" and "The best skincare is sunscreen."
I'm 32. It just so happened that I studied later in my life with a lot of younger girls (5-7 years younger). They would constantly ask what I do to my skin because I actually looked the same or younger than many of them because of my short stature and roundish face. They would even guess, is it retinol, is it this or that. The reality is it's not much, just moisturizer. I tried using anti age products when I was young (around 20), but I stopped. I don't even wear spf, just try not to expose my face to direct sun. I'm in western EU and we don't have as much sun as in the US. Also I've had adult acne most of my life and i have a bad habit of picking on it, but I don't have much scarring. The only things that really helped were birth control as it's hormonal, and AHA/BHA face wash, the only skincare I believe is a must. What I'm trying to say is that taking care of your skin is great, however please don't be anxious about it and feel like you'll age horribly unless you use expensive skincare when young. You can't convince me that it's not determined mostly by genes. My mom has always looked younger and my skin doesn't tend to scar a lot, that's it. Your lifestyle also plays a bigger role, no hard physical labor outside, no smoking or addictions is good for your skin. What you eat greatly impacts your whole body, including skin. All of this is important above skincare, but it is just a personal opinion of course.
If this really is true, please use sunscreen and things to protect your skin. Just the basics, really. I know people who had akin cancer because of lack of protection and lord the idea if skin cancer is terrifying.
I’m shocked that some people think this is okay?……”Even though you’re young and have such lovely skin I’m going to push my insecurities on you, But this is totally okay I’m looking out for you!!!” Can people really not read the Pov FORCING my sister into using good skincare while SHE’S STILL YOUNG. ?!?!?! I have a feeling that using 20 different products on your skin is actually harmful and dangerous but no one wants to talk about this :| so many serums and shit and for what? If men literally just wash their face and lotion then why can’t we do it? Is it because of our estrogen? Or is it because of the dumbass beauty standards that have been pushed onto women and in reality we don’t need ANY of this.
From what I can tell, it is! Most dermatologists I've found say this is unnecessary, and could be harmful because you can't guarantee that the products won't counteract each other, and men are actually lucky in that department lol because, to make it simple, more testosterone=less wrinkles lol I'll have to look that one up again. Generally I would think good diet and habits leads to good skin, and super smooth tight skin doesn't equal healthy 🙂
Bruh in actual reality women don't even need all of this nonsense. Skin care does more harm than good, studies show that skin care can actually break your skin more if you use it a lot. I simply use soap and water and I have no pimples, again this is different for someone born with genetic acne but trust me if you don't have skin problems you don't need skin care.

@@RatInYourBum"bad skin" is natural. You're not going to look like a porcelain doll constantly. Pushing chemicals and routines onto someone who doesn't need it and doesn't have issues isn't alright.
@@CharacteristicLizard these "chemicals" aren't harmful. You would rather a teenager suffer a painful skin condition and low self esteem rather than encouraging them to take care of their skin? LMAO. It's not about looking like a damn doll, it's about self care, which affects your mental health too. Just because bad skin is normal during puberty doesn't mean you should leave it as is. If you neglect your skin, especially when your hormones are gone wild, it'll be dry and acne-prone and it'll be difficult to live with both physically and mentally. Whether it's moisturizer or a sheet mask, both make a good difference. They aren't putting fuckin lead in it or anything. You eat chemicals every day.
Please dont, thats so toxic of you. Not only implying that she needs products to feel beautiful, but also subjecting her to potentially damaging skin treatments like hyaluronic acid and peroxides. Dont encourage growing up too fast, thats just heartbreaking
So you’re training her to associate skincare products with beauty. It’s funny because every time I take a break from my beauty products, my face clears up. People weren’t ugly 50 years ago but they also didn’t need 10 skincare products on a daily basis. Hopefully your sister realizes what you can’t and saves her time, money, and frustration. Edit, I guess I should say when I took breaks my face cleared up, I no longer use anything other than vitamin e under my eyes and a light amount of bio oil or coconut oil on the rest of my face, and other than the bio oil, those aren’t really specifically skincare products. I just make sure to give my face a nice wash before going out so it face isn’t oily.

Unless you're smoking or tanning a lot, you truly don't need a lot of skin care in your 20s. "Prevention" is also a myth to sell more products. But if you enjoy it, it's all good
More expensive doesn’t mean it’s better. And honestly less products is better for your skin.
Is anyone going to talk about how that face mask fitted her face perfectly- my face be looking like a ghost💀
She smoothed the mask over to fit her face lol

Starting a simple skincare routine young can be beneficial for long-term skin health and prevent future issues like acne and sun damage. It's important to use gentle, hydrating products and avoid harsh chemicals when you're still young.
misogyny: internalized
This isn't misogyny, she just wants her sister to have good skin.
meanwhile you watch the dermatologists and -especially for teens/young adults - they say over and over "keep it simple!" and "The best skincare is sunscreen."
Exactly!!
But then the media says "use a 10-step routine!" and, sadly, everyone ignores professionals.
Congrats on giving your sister insecurities she didn’t need

@@yvesntual12 yeah I would agree, definitely depends! I have SUPER sensitive skin so I need the right amount and right kind of product. Too little or too much can cause a reaction, it’s super irritating😅😂
It really depends on your skin. If it has acne and issues then you need more care. If you want to prevent damage then a 3 step routine is fine

I dont put on skincare all i do is wash with a fragranced soap bar and put vaseline on my body. I was raised like that here in Africa and my skin is clear. I have a fear that if i ever use makeup or skincare my skin is gonna break out.
I actually had this fear too, but when I started skincare my skin looked even clearer then it was and looked refreshed and felt nice. Trust me it’s worth it because I had that fear too, I still have the fear or makeup though.
Depends on the skincare tbh if u have sensitive skin consult a dermatologist before using anything if ur method for ur skin works i say just continue with it

THAT MASK WAS SO SATISFYING

I’m pretty sure it can actually damage kids’ skin if they use skincare products intended for people who are actually at an age where skin care would matter, since the products aren’t made to work on their much younger skin
Bro she doesn’t need it. The only skincare you need until you’re like 30 is a good face wash, maybe a moisturizer, sunscreen, and the occasional face masl
THIS! Her sister is young, wrinkles are natural things. I think the necessary skincare since youth is like, basic hygiene: washing your face, putting on sunscreen.

She’s a child, she doesn’t need to do sheet masks
She does though. It's especially important to take care of your skin during puberty because that's when it's at it's worst due to hormones.
@@RatInYourBum there’s a difference between some basic cleansers and one-off sheet masks with chemicals that just fuck w your routine, she doesn’t need spontaneous things, she needs an actual regiment
You eat chemicals every day.
omg they’re both so gorg !!
Aagghhh give me your skincare routines pls
