I installed this on my bargain basement 2018 Titan SV. The part number has changed to 999M2-W3035. Pretty straight forward install. 3-4 hours but I took my time. The only rough (frustrating) part was trying to press in the grommet on the back of the cab. Two things to note: 1. If you have a bed cover, make sure it is open before you close the tailgate for testing. I had to MacGyver my cover open so I could open the tailgate. 2. After install, my truck will now auto-lock after 1-2 minutes. Other than that, your video was an excellent tutorial and I appreciate the time you took to make and upload this. Purchased from Baytown Nissan just outside of Houston. Only place in the area that had the part. $276.04
Just want to say thanks. I was able to get the 999M2-W3005 kit by making some calls to various Nissan dealers and was able to install it yesterday. Your video was way more helpful than the PDF I downloaded from Nissan. Not sure why they (and you) said to remove the under-seat storage compartments, I didn't find it necessary.
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I will say it took a solid 1 1/2 hours. Also, I had a heck of a time getting my new grommet in and I used a little bit of silicone spray to help it push in. I have a 2018 Titan SV Texas Edition. Overall, fairly easy and worth doing yourself. I got a great deal on mine from the dealer, $180. They had 1 hour time for this and would have charged $135 so I chose to do myself, glad I did. Thanks again for your video.
Thanks you so much for this video! Made so much more sense then the instructions! Also, I have the 2019 Platinum Reserve (non-XD) and couldn't BELIEVE it didn't come with this! I didn't remove the under seat storage, but everything else was easy! Especially since there was no disassembly in the tailgate for the lock module! Thanks again!
Help, I have a 2018 Titan SV King cab and installed the unit all the way to the inside of the cab. Opened up the D pillar and I am not seeing the connector for the relay. Is it hidden somewhere else? The video did a great job showing me all of the steps prior but now I think I may need to uninstall and send it back if I cant find the connector.
Hi! Thanks for this useful video. Mine is 2021 model and it says it is prewired for this but some people say it isnt. How can i tell if it is prewired??? I want to open the tailgate panel and what should I look for to determine if it is prewired or not. Thanks!!!
Good first video. I'll be installing my kit tomorrow on my 17 Titan XD SV and this helped with the prep and will save time, thanks! Nice carpet bed mat, where did you get that?
Thomas Wierschem yes sir, i paid the dealer to do the work. I figured dealer parts and all the wire splicing, I should have them be responsible. I can’t remember how much I paid. 10 months is a long time. I can’t even give a ball park.
Hey bud, I was curious if you could tell me how many wires are in that little white plug behind the D pillar plastics.... I'm assuming 2? I tried slowing the video down to see..... Thank you! San Diego too correct?
Honestly, I just pulled the plug out and connected it to the harness. I "think" there were 4? Not 100% sure. The kit was pretty much a "plug and play" except for a few wires.
@@titanguy3527 truck bed button? My nieces husband has the Titan XD Platinum Reserve XXXXXXXXX or whatever the most expensive package is and I don't see that on his.
@@danielk0106 in a previous question, they asked if there was a trunk button on the ky fob. There isn't one, the kit works perfect with the key fob the Titan comes with.
Just got a 19 SV and was shocked to find out it didn't have a power tailgate lock. I thought my Tacoma was the only truck that was still stuck in the past. That was $90 for a pop N lock. Unfortunately i don't think they make one for a Titan
They do and I'll send you a link to the ONLY DEALER I know that will sell you one. MOST dealerships that have them in stock say that your VIN# has to show your truck came with it. This dealership won't ask. I think he has 2-3 left. www.mcgavocknissanlubbock.com/?GMB Give the parts guy this number 999M2W3005
I have tried a few local dealers and they won't sell it without already having it installed. Called the dealer in Texas and 5 minutes later he is shipping me the one they had in stock. Zero questions asked
@@sofiazhang8506 No. They were actually for the Tundra. Get this one it's the cheapest online and easy to install. parts.statelinenissanauto.com/p/90000987/999M2W3005.html
I had my 21 for 6 months before I realized that I wasn't locking the tailgate when i locked my doors. This is a dirty little cost cutting Nissan pulls on their customers IMHO.... Some things you just expect to come on the higher trim level trucks. Still love my Pro4X but have to admit to being a little disappointed with this cost savings ploy.

Is there an obvious way to tell if the truck is prewired for the tailgate lock?
1st video was actually pretty good. I wish I’d seen it before paying to have it done.
Thanks for the Kudo's... I will start doing some more because there isn't a lot of Titan videos out there.
Texas Mud, did you have it installed at the dealer? Was it expensive?

great video. So does it just unlock/lock using key fob buttons for doors? Or do you need a key fob with truck bed button?
Did you watch the video? Just wondering.
It locks and unlocks normal with the factory key fob. You don't need a key fob with the truck bed button.

Nice vid how much was the kit if you dont mind me asking i want this on my 19 titan
I believe it was around $175 at my local Nissan dealership. Thanks for the good comment! Never made a video like this before.
