    Rebecca... You would probably love a slow cooker. They even have liners you can buy so you don't have to clean the insert. You can dump, stir and go on about your merry way. Or, an electric pressure cooker, also called an instant pot. You can walk away without fear of burning anything. And it will keep everything warm. The stainless steel pots are easy to maintain too.

    Love the copper idea. It will be repeated in your barstools and you could remove the cabinet doors around your hood and cover the hood in wood which will speak to the copper color. Change your desk area (desks in kitchens are no longer a thing) to a charming wine bar/wine storage or even a barista style coffee bar. You don't have to do it with cabinetry, you can do it with a sofa table type countertop and crate type storage below and up the right side (since the window is not symmetrical). Your other wall across from it, would be a great wood feature wall. Go a tad bit warmer gray for paint.

    For the kitchen window, I would have put in a roman blind above, starting at the height of the wall cabinets, making it look like the shade was partially down.

    Copper hardware would add a lot of warmth to the space! Have you ever covered the pros and cons of can vs pendant lights in the kitchen? When one would work better than the other?

    You changed your mind on building a new home, so sell the land you just bought and make a profit ND fix up your current home. I am a great cook! I love cooking, but not every day, we love leftovers!
    This kitchen is not my fave. Open that window up make it larger ND take crown molding off cabinets and walls ND RUclips has a wonderful way to bring cabinets up without moving the cabinets up, then add your crown moldings back up onto the top of the cabinets meeting the ceiling. It's fantastic! We are going to do that to our cabinets, cubbies above cabinets for pretties and cookbooks! I have a collection of unusual coffee pots and tea kettles, some antique! Do it, you will love ❤ this process and it's very inexpensive too! Your son could do it!

    Put a Roman shade above the window hung at least as high as the cabinets, it could be fabric that matches the paint color. Or use a bamboo shade placed as high as the cabinets that matches the window wood color!!!!

    Rebecca, you are so creative and always do such a great job of making things look so lovely and pulled together. Love your esthetic even though my style is more minimal. Personally, I would go with the lighter paint color. As for the window, the reason you notice how short it is is because it's dark wood... have you thought of possibly painting it the same color as the cabinets or the wall color, so it visually blends in?

  • @lolaottinger3038
    @lolaottinger3038 2 года назад +1

    I’m sure you can do it, I think painting the wood trim around that would would be an improvement, and yes I know you have dark wood around your other windows, but that wood isn’t battling against wrong size/placed windows, and the stain isn’t as pretty as that around the windows with darker stain.

    You could hang a roman shade valance high enough even with the cabinets over top of the window so window looks higher.
