When you load paper into the Automatic Document Feeder(ADF), you want to position the paper so that the text is facing up with the header going into the machine first.

i have a problem with my system for some reason wen i run the test it says the cord is connected to the exit port but i have it connected to the line 1 port
I just wanna see someone place multiple pieces of paper on the top loader to see if they place the paper with the words facing the backside or the words facing me! Why would you show me how to send only from the glass?
Matt Beauregard Try the following steps: - Allow the product to retry sending the fax. - Call the recipient to ensure that the fax machine is on and ready. - Check that you are dialing the correct fax number. - If the product continues to redial, unplug the product telephone cord from the wall, plug in a telephone, and try making a voice call. - Make sure that the phone cord from the wall telephone jack is plugged into the line port. - Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line. - Try a different phone cord.

I have the J4680 wireless printer. will I be able to fax without connecting the phone line to my printer and using a wireless modem?
Are you using the phone cord that came with the printer?

I can not send a fax,it keeps saying no answer,yet if I go to someone elses fax it goes through
