Gorgeous! Loved the different perspectives you can't see when traveling there in person. This isle was my favorite part of my extended visit to Scotland last May. Only frustrating part was not finding the roads to Mangersta!
I'm a Lewis living in New Zealand. My class and others had to search for their roots. I already knew I was part Scottish but done some research and learned I'm from MacLeod of the Lewes clan in island of Lewis which I'm proud of
Lovely familiar landscapes but my goodness, how drone photography has changed our image of it all. Beautifully composed photography and a poignant reminder to we Covid and Brexit exiles of what we are missing. Hopefully this year ... ? Also, compared with so many ego trips on RUclips, we like the way you let us see for ourselves what you have made. How much percentage of your actual shoots do you use?
Good evening every one. I'am French. Next here I plan to go on Lewis and Harris with my old van VWT5. Lover of Scotland for long time, I worked on the construction of the Ninian Platform in Kishorn. At that time (1977) I came from Le Havre with my car but the work was difficult and I was too tired to be a good and attentive tourist. Who can help help my finding out about example ferry to Tarbet from Uig, if I can sleep outside the campside etc. It's for April 2021. Thank you for this beautiful report and thank you to the one who will bring me information. Long live Scotland.
The Caledonian Macbrayne(calmac) website will give you ferry times etc from Uig. Quite a few camp sites and wild camping allowed respecting the environment of course.
Dear Mr. J MacIntosh, thank you for responding to my request, it is very kind of you. I am always respectful of where I am and especially in this country that I love. I live near Italian and Swiss border and daily see lack of respect from ceratin tourists from elsewhere. Thank you again for your response and I wish you a great day. Merci Monsieur et vive l'Ecosse. Amicalement. Christian A
Beautiful film Calum. Having stayed on harris recently for the first time this year, watching this was quite emotional. I love it so much, I am going back on October. I presume you live here? I have shared this film on my Facebook page and wish your channel well for the future.
If the waters were warm, the place would indeed be packed, and that would be a truly terrible thing. It would soon fill up with lots of litter, noise, alcohol, fights, and all sorts of horrible new buildings and developments, like giant hotels and new bigger roads, etc. The cooler climate is a blessing because it limits the amount of tourists that want to go there and also acts as a filter system so that only the right sort of tourists will go there. i.e. not the kind who drop litter, make a loud noise disturbing local residents, go on drunken rampages and generally ruin life for everybody else while polluting the local environment.
Thanks for this. Well done. Is there a clip here of Mealista? We loved staying at Breanish (before it was Brennais again) and walking to Mealista. I've never found anyone including it in their video (but I've seen enough of the Callenish Stones to last me the rest of my days! You'd think there was nothing else about Lewis.).
Hello thank you! There isn't one from Mealista but there is one of the road there and quite a few from the cliffs around the Mangersta area! If you want to see more clips from the same areas look up calcomacleod on Instagram or Facebook! (there's more on Instagram) Thanks again!
Hello, my name is Nell, I'm wanted to do a collection of paintings for my heritage, I was wondering if i could use a clip from this video as a reference.
Love the style of this and the good rich colours. Great video
Nice film with awesome production quality and a beautiful setting too.
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning! I loved the aerial view of the sheep herding.
Stunning, as one comes to expect from CalCo. I loved the sheep being herded by a dog and a blue van - just magical.
Four of my great-grandparents are from Lewis. Hope to make it there some day in the near future to meet my extended family that is still there.
This is a great piece of footage, music worked well and the scenery was really something.
Great sight ! Superb views. Thank you so much for posting.
Mesmerizing and wonderful wild nature. Great job.
To quote Sir Terry Pratchett... ' MMBA. - Miles and Miles of Bugger All...
Unless, of course, you look...🥰💕🏴

Camped overnight at the beautiful Horgabost beach , Harris. Next morning the the midges found us!
Hi! I'm reading Peter May's trilogy with Fin MacLeod at the moment and it makes me want to discover Outer Hebrides as soon as possible.

Really great video! Nice job on the edit! 👍
If the waters was warm the place would be packed. The place looks gorgeous all the same.

Sure does! Thanks
Totally agree. Portugal has wonderful landscapes too but it has been ruined by mass tourism. And many other places too.

Wow us MacLeod’s had it good, shame my family left.
Hi Calum, we love your video, we were wondering if we would be able to use some of it to promote a trip to the Outer Hebrides? Many Thanks, Aaron
