I had a local shop custom fabricate my exhaust system by removing all catalytic converters and the resonator. No crossover whatsoever. Left on stock mufflers.
I own a straight piped 2011 E63 AMG and I love it. It's so loud and sounds amazing but boy do I feel bad for my neighbors during those 3am cold starts when I have to go somewhere super early.

It's straight piped to the mufflers. Cats are deleted as well as resonators. It's a good idea to keep mufflers on when you do so because at that point it just because obnoxiously loud with no tone really.
I like the AMG exhaust, can be quiet when driving normally and when you wake the engine up the exhaust will respond accordingly. Great for surprising the shit out of people and turning heads.
Hey Nick!! Got mine in Feb put 15k miles on it haha, using your car for inspiration!! Hopefully I will have some videos to share on diy mods, etc. I love how the exhaust crackles like a whip on downshifts (manual mode) even in a stock c63. Love this car!! Engine is very reminiscent of the LS motors
My neighbors F06 M6 Gran Coupe is straight piped and it wakes up the whole block, cuz thet usually drive it at night... i personally love it, abs their X6 M
@@kodyking3090 I know, but he said he just left stock mufflers on the end of the exhaust but CAT and resonator removed, it's like my dad's car, he removed his CAT, resonator and muffler off of his diesel land cruiser, it was full straight pipe V8 and it still made no noise at all, there was a DPF (diesel particular filter) still on it, once removed it was way to loud and he just put the resonator back on

Hey what you think of the experience of having straight pipes.. getting a new ML today and wanted to check with a fellow Merc owner to see if straight pipes is worth it? Where there no errors on the dash etc. and in performance? How good does it sound past the 100kms mark? Too annoyingly loud or decent? And I believe there can be an odd smell?
