"Destroying our Peterbilt 379!!" Rebuilding a Peterbilt Flattop Part 3

- Don't worry... We are changing a lot of things up with this truck, but destroying it would not be possible. These old trucks are built like Brinks trucks! We did decide to remove the old cowl panel and rear center section on the sleeper to accommodate for replacement parts. Did you like the video, If so, let us know in the comment section why!

Allz3 Garage excelente video
Thanks 👍
Good job I am not a truck driver I just like your videos keep up the good job
Enjoying restorations from Allz3, Twinstick Garage, and Mr EZ Rider!!
Ez is a jack of all trades, love his red 359. Allz3 is doing a hell of a job.
Glad you like them!
Absolutely. Three of my favorite truck related channels for sure. Nice work guys! Great progress
I miss my Piled Up T.V., though.
I see you guys using screwdrivers to pry panels apart. I say nay nay!! They make a tool for that. It’s called a skin wedge and they are about $16 on Amazon. Great for getting in between two panels that are sealed together. Get ya some!!! Have a great day.
Nothin to it but to do it 👍👍
Agreed!
Those "dents" in the cowl and firewall are alignment recesses. Have a buddy who works at the Denton TX Peterbilt plant. He says the dents are an assembly line feature, to keep perfect alignment of the cowl to the firewall and windshield frame as its assembled and riveted. Be sure to use a thin bead of seam sealer on all panel mounting surfaces before final riveting.
💯
Thanks for the input! They looked to be factory as the are all bent the exact same way!
Great channel you guys are doing great work
Thanks for watching
If you use a right angle grinder and slice sideways across the huck “nut”, cutting it in half. Use a screw driver to separate the halves and the old huckbolt pushes out
We did that on the silver truck we re-did and it ended up taking a lot longer to pop the heads off them!
Good job.
Thanks!
Great stuff guys. I really look forward to these videos. Back in the late 80s and 90s, I was driving an 88 Freightliner cabover (company truck) and I was always envious of those drivers in the 359's until finally in 97 I went out and bought myself a brand new 379 with a Cat and a 13 speed. It was like going from a Chevy to a BMW lol. Great memories. Keep up the great work guys. Love the channel. Be safe and thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
The indents across the inside cab firewall.. Could be for windshield wiper arms that travel close to firewall... They may rub if u try to straighten out.. Move windshield washer fluid reservoir off firewall.. Into cab or passenger side step box.. Works well down there
I'm loving how far your going to make this build perfect, great work so far.
Glad you enjoy it!
Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video ,
Thanks!
This truck is gonna be sick boys cant wait to see how she turns out
Thank you!
Love what your doing! Old Iron rocks!!
good video, I like the way u explain on what u r doing & how u r fixing it. keep up the good work & keep the videos coming
Thanks, will do!
Should add links in your description to all of the products y’all are using. I’m sure the suppliers would greatly appreciate that and it might lead to possible sponsors which I’m sure would help! More for the toolbox on the shoulders 🤘🏼
Done!
looking good guys the ol girl is gonna be styling and profiling for sure when you get done with her with all these new panels . couldn't you have just cut the window hole or was the panel dented up ? but keep at waiting on the next update video stay safe , stay healthy , stay at it
You can cut panel and add rear window but I don't believe aftermarket windows are the same size as factory Peterbilt.
Hey Tim. The new panel will have all of the factory cut outs for the Huck rivets. We plan to find a factory window and window frame from the local salvage yard!
Yel that will be cool it would be extremely high at Peterbuilt I'm sure hope you find one
love the red 379. Really looking forward to it.
Thank you! We can't wait to see this one finished! Really going all out on this one!
Looking good can't wait until the next video hurry up lol!!
You and me both!
Are y'all going to repaint the truck
Yeah they are, they mentioned the color scheme in a few past vids. I think cream and burgundy.
Yessir!
What's up
Use a narrow air chisel to remove rivets in the channel.
Ended up grinding off the heads!! Sucked but we got it down!
Did you guys take any trades in school, autobody, painting or diesel mechanics?
No sir! Learned on the fly!
Hi
Instead of using Twin Stick Garage's "Little By Little" tag line, you guy's can use "Always Something." LMFAO
I like it! that is the truth!
Great work!!!! The channel is definitely coming on strong!!!! Really like how you guys take the time to do things right!!! I wanted to ask are these trucks you guys work on your own personal trucks or do they belong to customers? Keep doing what you do and we will definitely see you on the next one 😎✌️
Thanks so much!! These are all trucks in our fleet!
Good video, I was wondering how much your huck gun cost you? Also where was it that you bought it from? Keep up the good work on your videos.
It was a lot! Here is a link to where we purchased it from: www.yardstore.com/gage-bilt-truck-kit-gb722tckl
Wait you got a century
Nice Nazifornia Republic sweatshirt. LMFAO
👀🤟🏾
Yea all you mofos subscribe to the channel
You kids had better start protecting you ears. Those air tools are hard on hearing. I am a 58 year old disabled farmer. I never took car if my ears and I have had hearing aids for twenty years. I can't hear for shit. I know its lame but saying HUH the rest the your life sucks.
