Sorry, but disagree. Jared was more interesting. To cut monotonous shred is not music, it is technical exercises. This is what Andy does - endless technical studies.

My favourite shred wars. One of Jared's very best although Andy James is just ridiculous. You sound great together. It's like you were both on the same page.
This is my second favourite Shred Wars (after Jason Richardson's), because the backing tracks suited both Andy's and Jared's playing. Andy has a slight edge, but Jared did a lot better than past Shred Wars, since I think Jared held back a lot less during this one.

I don't think that he's hugely underrated. He writes solid solos, but they are pretty cliché or just not super exciting and interesting to me. Just my opinion. If you enjoy his solos a lot more, good for you :)

Not exactly. I think he's just trying more. In the first three episodes of Shred Wars he had some monster ass solos. Then after a while he started using the series as a "Look at this cool guy I got for a video, I'll just jam a little bit" show. Maybe he's more motivated now and actually wants to showcase a little bit of his talent but I think he's always been this good
@@olekacf4029 You got a point in here, after read your impressions y go back to the first Shred Wars and he do some killer solos, but I'm not preaty sure about "I'll Jam with this cool guitar player"... probably the simple fact of competing with another guitarist forced Jared to improve his skills, in fact it has been surpassed by several of those guitarists like Steve T, Angel Vivaldi, Sarah Longfield, 331Erock just to mention some of those, but it's only my opinion, I respect your's and it's so cool to discuss this matters with you!

Most people are unaware of the level of difficulty of Andy's licks.. This isn't even his best effort, he's just holding it back to accommodate Jared's skills
It is obvious that Andy's licks are harder than Jared's one but it's not because it's harder that it sounds better. I guess it's a matter of preference though. I prefered jareds parts but I understand what you meant

Andy's a guitar god but it should be noted that every great player has his/her own style or technique, so its pointless to judge based on difficultly level of licks or speed...instead the music should be enjoyed without comparison....

Andy taught me the greatest thing in my guitar playing. Figure out an interesting pattern then repeat it several octaves to create a shred lick. This is how even when shredding, his phrasing just sounds so damn good and not the typical scale yawn yawn running up and down.

I think Jared could beat most. But James is one of the most underrated guitarist today. His melodic lead ability is untouched by nearly everyone.
Jared has lost nearly every single one of these. Honestly, he's just not a very creative guitarist.

Jared doesn't actually do these videos to compete, but to showcase the other guitarist. Source: his twitter. I certainly liked them both in this one, Jared's solos were much better here than in other videos. Andy is also far more technical than what is apparent from this video. When it comes to the whole picture, Andy is of course much better, but I'd say this was a draw.

@@thelickpolice1210 Nah, i really think Andy got this one in the pocket. Its melodic as hell and technically next level shit. Jareds an awesome guitar player, but Andy is from a whole other dimension. While Jared is playing the same notes 3 times in a row, Andy skips 2 Strings, creating new harmonies. While Jared used scales up and down the strings on the same frets, Andy is doing something very tasty on a whole other region of the fretboard, creating art.
I mean if you liked Jareds entries more, sure, thats cool. These were pretty good. But Andys use of harmonies and technique is just mindblowing.
Not that i can do better than any of them, but yeah.

ZeldaLegacy I can agree with that, it’s a tough thing to judge really, its “shred wars” though so I think the point is to look pretty tightly at technicality, and Jason Richardson destroyed him. But music wise and taste? I’d rather be listening to Jared in my headphones then a shred god just go off for 3 minutes, but that’s why I thought this would be a slaughter Andy’s got amazing musicality along with technicality.
