Oh my goodness!! This is spring boarding my drawing ahead so much!! I’ve never “seen” the angles so clearly. It tells the trees story so much more honestly!! You are such a help!! Thank you!
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to break this down, this is so helpful!!🤩 I don’t think I’ve drawn trees since I started taking my art studies seriously, but when you showed how most people draw trees, it looked EXACTLY like how I’ve drawn trees in the past hahaha and I never realized why they looked so off! But now I see it was all the curvy lines, plus not thinking about the leaves as a single volume first before going into the details. This is so good, I really want to go observe and draw some trees now to practice.🌳 Cool to see you using Procreate too, it’s my software of choice for now when I draw and paint digitally.😊
I don’t like to use my computer to help me with my art. I’m a hands on kind of artist but what I’m seeing here is how I would create a thumbnail (or more) to find the way that I would like to create this tree. Another great tool that I like to use is with the notanizer app which changes things to black and white and helps you see the shapes so much better. Nice video showing us our options. 😊
I've never heard of Notanizer. I, too, also don't use the computer to help with my work since I usually draw from life. Today, I just used procreate to display the concepts I use while I draw trees. I'm not sure what you mean by a thumbnail, though. I draw small thumbnails at times before starting something larger, but these concepts are what I use any time i draw trees. Hopefully, I wasn't unclear. There is no other set of methods to help me simplify such a complex structure. You'll have to share your methods in order for me to possibly understand your comment more. I certainly don't think my methods work for everyone, but I find these steps the best method for me. ⚘️😌🙏
These tips are so very helpful. Thank you for such a clear explanation and demonstration of them. It’s greatly appreciated. I realized that your videos haven’t been showing up in my feed so came over to your channel today and see I have some catching up to do! 😊I’ve now got the bell enabled so I get notifications.
Thanks for this video and breaking it down so easily. I always struggle with trees! Definitely going to apply this next time -those shift breaks are a great way to capture it!
I'm so glad you found it helpful. ☺️ I hope these methods help you simplify them for the results that you desire. Trees can be daunting at times, I think. 🤔 🎨📚🖍🌳🙏
Todays video is a result of some questions and comments recently. I hope this longer explanation is helpful.

Thank you, Dawn. It took some mulling before I decided how to do this video. I was hoping Procreate would work. I'm glad you found it helpful. 😊🌳🙏🖌🎨
