Hey, if you thought the Risen Elder Dragons were bad, then do I have a surprise for you. Once you get to Anomaly Rank 211, you'll be able to do new Anomaly Quests for the three Risen Elders, those being Kushala, Chameleos, and Teostra. However, they are different in that they have more health, and have new moves, and altered movesets. There is also a quest for Lucent Nargacuga, where he gets a similar treatment. Thought you might wanna know, beacuse I found it interesting that they'd change the moves of these monsters. Anyway, fantastic video, and loved to see that I wasn't the only one struggling with this beast.
People are calling these new powered up Risens either EX Risen Elder Dragons, or Arch-Tempered Risen Elders. They also have new icons, in that there is a little orange swirl around them. I found the new Chameleos to be the hardest, as it had the most changed moves from my experience.
The Risen Elders are actually available as low as 121, with their highest drop being at 161. Do they get more moves at 211 though? I did notice a couple of differences with Risen Teo at 160+

Such a Fun, Terrifying fight and easily the Star of TU4 for me. Also the Red Dragonsphire is Mantle for Valstrax, the Red Dragon Orb is the High Rank rare drop if that's what you meant.
I have a lance main in my party that has guard 5 and everything and is overall very skilled. He doesn’t want to fight Risen Val bcs it deals so much damage he can’t even allow himself to get the chip damage 😂. Also I recommend the leg piece it's like low key the best armour piece currently in the game.
Finally I found someone else who yells GAS GAS GAS when someone mounts the monster- have we hunted together and I just never knew?! Initial D for the win :)

I usually don’t care about collecting spiribirds, but Risen Valstrax is the only monster that made me have to collect at least some spiribirds before fighting it. Tried fighting it the first time and got carted in like 2-3mins… Range of his wing stabs and the 360 swing is really insane too. It’s like its wings stretched real long… After it glows red and does its combo, the more dangerous one is the stab after that, can cart from full health… (got carted by that most of the time…) For the double lasers tho, there was 2x during the second laser when I managed to helicopter (DB) from its wings to it body somehow avoiding the laser… still don’t get how I managed to do that 😂

lol to be fair, i shouldve had brace jewel on for multiplayer. I thought i could squeeze extra dps by having an extra blast jewel, but its useless when i get smacked up by my boys lmao Not sure if they had brace in the older games though.
You actually can stop his charge up, but it's complete luck. You need something like a Great Sword charge hit or a Switch Axe grab finish to be about to hit him _before_ he even starts to charge up. Essentially you just have to hope he starts the charge up at a really good moment for you.
Risen Valstrax was the first Hub/Event monster in Sunbreak, that triple carted me, while I am using IG. I killed him solo on my second run, but still with two carts. With AI followers he is still rather easy, but solo he is no joke.
@@ArkhamKnightChannel with AI followers I can listen to a podcast in a backround and still take him down without serious problems, well as long as one of these followers is Hinoa with a Hunting Horn. The most dangerous element of his fight is his relentless aggression, if this aggression is divided between multiple targets, all of them, exept for the player immortal, he becomes way less treatening.
@@AXIDIUS not really. The fantastic mobility of IG makes it easier to keep up with Valstrax speed. Also I spend some time collecting spiritbirs before fighting him, what makes the fight way easier. Also I now rock a pretty decent dragon conversion set, which boosts the damage I do against him massively. Finally are followers simply overpowered. Okay, they don't do that much damage, but their support and distract ability is just a game changer. Hinoa with a Hunting Horn trivializes most quests. Btw: I had more trouble with the anomaly level 211 Risen Chameleos quest (not the investigation, but his powered up quest), then with Risen Valstrax.

We stopped it a couple of times in the vid. They also get longer as well until you stop it. Then they reset and he does a short charge again.
