- Once again, Welcome back to the channel and thank you so much for hanging out upstairs with us! In today's Episode we complete an Installation Tutorial and Product Review for the upcoming AtGames Legends Pinball Control Panel which went on sale February 14th 2021 (National Owners Day) and is expected to be delivered to consumers on or around May 10th 2021. AtGames was kind enough to send over a Demo Unit for me to Review and Install into my AtGames Legends Pinball Machine and I wanted to share the process and my personal feelings on this product with all of you. On National Owners Day AtGames was selling these for $100 (50% Off the $200MSRP) and we'll ask ourselves are we getting a good value for either $100 or $200? If you missed the Sale you can wait until the next one or you can still place orders today with AtGames directly in their eStore for the AtGames Legends Pinball Control Panel.

Did you pre-order an AtGames Legends Pinball Control Panel on National Owners Day? What Vertical Games are you looking to play on your Pinball Machine? Let me know below! Thank you as always for supporting the channel!
Pre-ordered on NOD along with Zaccaria tables. Will probably put together a vertical only build like Mr. Burns for the Raspberry Pi
@@jskjellman sounds Iike a good plan!
I ordered on NOD and can’t wait for the Wave 3 pinball and this control panel to arrive!!
@@mineralmanagement Rock On Buddy!
I completely missed NOD day to preorder this and the game packs and the full prices just seem to expensive. I hope these go back on sell.
Great video Patrick, This new addon control deck is great, I've been playing vertical games all weekend on it, pacman, time pilot, krazy bowling.
Lots of fun!
Seems like a must have for anyone interested in arcade gaming in the ALP. Great video, thanks PDubs.
Thank you sir!
If I was a betting man, I'd gather the trackball is lower so you can rest your wrist at the edge. Plus there is a method of using a trackball in a lateral motion where your thumb is bent down slightly and using lockbar as a lateral guide if that makes sense... Now lets get some golden tee on this thing!
A brief yet thorough review!
Thanks for the review-it looks great and is a smart use of that wasted space on the table. I like that they went with a smaller, more low profile joystick as well as it makes it look less out of place. Being able to play vertical games on it is a definite plus for me! Can’t wait to get mine!
Rock on Dude! Thanks for enjoying the review!
Those full screen vertical games. Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh baby!
Lol yeahhhhh boy! 👊🤓
PDubs,
Watching this video again, I'd LOVE to see some more CoinOpsX gameplay on the pin with this INCREDIBLE Joystick Addon :) No pressure :D
Just a quick update, still waiting on the main body of my pinball machine. I don't know if AtGames should ship future pinball machines in two boxes. I got the backbox 3 days ago :( The wait is killing me :P
I know it will be worth it, though :)
vgv
Great review - thanks! Think I am going to pick this up with the sale next week!
Thank you for great video. Question, once you added the joystick to the pinball does the plunger still work? And all the buttons in the front still work?
Yes and yes
@@PDubsArcadeLoft , thank you for your fast response. Looking forward to your next new video. 😊👍. Any test on Pi 4 on Legends pinball? How does that go? Do new joystick have Bluetooth connection? How you play it with atgames controller on raspberry Pi 4?
Great Review PDubs! Pre-ordered on NOD and looking forward to getting mine!
Excellent Scott and thank you for enjoying the video!
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Thanks PDubs! Got my Legends Pinball this past Tuesday, See You on the Leaderboards!
that was quick! nice video dubs. loving those close up neck shots. 😆
Lol well I mean it's just a control panel not something that needs days of testing. I'm glad you enjoyed the review.
Great review pdubs... that vertical gameplay looks gorgeous.... can't wait to check it out..
Thanks Bro! I'm glad you enjoyed the review!
This add-on for the Atgames pinball is awesome!
Thanks Jason, I think it's a cool accessory.
Great video. Nicely done and easy to see what you are doing.
Thank you my friend! I'm happy I got a review done in less than 10mins
Theoretically you should be able to connect a legends gamer pro or mini to this and flip it to horizontal mode and play horizontal games by standing on the side of the table with the gamer pro/mini Not sure if anyone has tried this. Literally this could be a standalone product that does everything you would need. May be a little weird playing like this though lol. You could still play horizontal games on the vertical screen but maybe finding some uce files without bezels and you can play it in center mode.
Yes RB I already have done this and made a video for it. I connected the gamer mini to the cabinet.
Can’t wait, I purchased one on NOD as well as the table. Hopefully in a couple months it will be delivered.
Targeted around May 10th, time will fine by!
Just put mine in today! Played a little coinopsx and LOVE it. NOD thank you! My ALP had the old board screwed down on the edges (4 screws) into the side panels. I have some vibration on the haptics now....seems to be at the side panels. Wondering if putting in the four holes on the new board would help that.... if not maybe stuff a layer or two paper towel under there to damp the rattle or something...
Thanks for the informative video PDubs. 👏🏻👍🏻
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to it. I scored for NOD.
Nice Ben! Hope you like it!
I ordered Wave 3(?) pinball as quickly as I could as a non-atGames owner. Also got the control panel on sale.
Very nice! You'll be playing pinball in no time!
Thanks again, for such a detailed tutorial 👍
Most welcome!
Did you check to see if trackball is same as every other version? Basically will we need to go ahead and order a shim kit ahead of time?
I didn't tear it open and look inside. It sure does feel and look the same would recommend snagging the shims since those aren't expensive to be safe.
Any thoughts on taking the exciters off the original and incorporating them as well?
I know enough to be dangerous but in my mind it seems possible to double up the exciters on each side.
Enjoy the weekend sir!
I was wondering the same thing-it would be great to be able to reuse those extra exciters!
Interesting.....maybe by wire tapping....I'll have to investigate
@@PDubsArcadeLoft My understanding is 4 Ohm needs to be done as a series and not parallel. Just a thought from someone that doesn't like to see stuff go to waste :-)
I know the walls are too thick for it to impact but maybe move the stock to the current location and move the new ones onto the end of the flipper buttons on the inside or between the white and red buttons on each side.
Again, I know only enough to be dangerous lol
Have a great weekend!
I totally agree the track ball should be higher or more centered in height. Hopefully they make the adjustments fast. Maybe even remove the red arrows. Those are not needed.
I kind of like the red arrows looks like a Sega joystick lol but yes trackball my OCD kicked in.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Btw do we have to have separate USB sticks for coin ops vs add on?
@@michaelsuna6248 nope. Once you have your drive set up whether you go into addonx or coinopsx it will launch
I'm guessing that the trackball is set lower to keep the player's hand as far from the screen as possible. You'll notice that it's also lower than the sticks on the ALU.
Good point my friend, may just be my OCD lol
Hi, great video!
What’s the name of that game on your video that is kinda like “air hockey table”?
so is there only two exciters in the machine and do they fire off independently or at the same time regardless of what flipper or slingshot is used or hit, ,,great video by the way
I believe they fire off at same time.
Great review as always. Do you think you got a pre-production unit? I seem to recall that cheaper plastic covering on something else that was replaced when the product hit production.
AtGames told me the unit I have is the actual production unit. So, unless they make any last minute changes the next 2 months I have to go off what they told me.
Pdub, the plastic is actually smart and probably a second thought when they realized installing the panel could get messy with the wires hanging. Looks like a couple easy places to create snags and shorts. This is probably eliminating a lot of customer service calls. The thin formed plastic is about $1 cheaper than an actual hard mold and affords a little flex for the heavy handed. Added BTW, I ordered it when ordering the pinball table and Zaccaria sets. Wave 4- LOL I think I will just install the arcade panel and keep the OE stored.
Great info thank you for sharing
Great job pdubs look forward to the gaming video... I honestly feel this is a fantastic addition and primarily the reason I buy Atgames products ... It’s all about the options and catering to the gaming enthusiasts.
So true, all about options!
PDubs very detailed tutorial well done!
Thank you Hollywood, 👊🤓
Do you think they went with thinner plastic on the back to help with the feedback? Can't wait to get mine looks cool 😎. Keep up the awesome reviews.
I can ask them, that's a good question.
Great review PDubs! Looks like a fun way to play vertical games. Used the discount code PDubs on the Tulsa Arcade shop. Much appreciated.
Thanks Jolly! Glad you enjoyed the review and happy the code saved you a few bucks!
I wish May would get here already. This arcade stick, Legends Pinball, Zaccaria tables, and Bit Pixel were ordered on National Order Day.
I'm tired of waiting 😅
Oh I know my Dude I'm sorry but time is flying by! Mid March already!
Would love a Sam's Club bundle where it was already included down the line when stock improves.
Love it. Can’t wait to get mine.
Small enough to easily sneak into the house past the wifey!
Looks awesome!
Thanks Brian 👊🤓
pretty cool. It sucks my screen has a damage issue, as well as my exciters make popping noises. So who knows how long I'll have to wait for a replacement. This will be great for those tall screen shooters.
Oh yeah, vertical shooters are a blast with this!
Glad I ordered for $100 looks great! Question Patrick (I’m not on Facebook, so wasn’t sure how to get you direct). Haven’t played my 1.0 in a bit. Just updated 5.25(?)- how do I used BYOG? I’ve got like 4 usb sticks and didn’t know how to navigate? Also will we be able to BYOG to the pinball? Thanks- great video!
Yes you can plug USB sticks or your PC into the legends to BYOG, or sign up for their virtual BYOG. I have videos posted on how to set up coinopsx on the legends for your USB sticks. Same process as on the pinball machine.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft thanks Patrick! I’m a Mac guy so I’ll check out those videos! Mike
Yeah you better show some Centipede gameplay after the hell you caught last night. Nice review man.
Lol I did 👊🤓 I'm glad you enjoyed the review!
What are the 3 wires that are loose in the unit? Yellow and black, red and black and white and black?
OHH man that plastic housing... ouch. Yeah i want this but $200 is kinda nuts lol. $200 i could see for something with custom art but then i wouldn't want that in this machine anyway. Going to try and wait for a sale but idk, i might splurge and order it all together.
If this is the same trackball as the ALU, would the shim supports be recommended?
Most likely
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Thanks, guess I'll order some up along with that nifty trackball cover
In Canada that control deck is 300 and that pinball table machine is 999 plus taxes at the Brick and the ultimate legends arcade is 899 there and the garbage A1up is machines are 799. Buyer's in Canada beware of currency difference and the stores marking up the products i will do a review of mine but thumbs up for your content Pub
Sorry to hear about Canadian prices that sounds awful even considering exchange rates. I'm glad you enjoyed the video at least.
I already purchased the both legends machines with warranty the legends ultimate is still in the box as I am finishing renovations and the pinball table will not be here until may I will upload a video when I get it all together. Hard not to feel burned with the amount spent i had no idea it was marked up that much but ya man great videos thanks for your honest reviews 👍
Question: How do you engage 2 player mode for CoinOpsx games like Galaga when you don't have P1 and P2 buttons? Thank you.
I should have watched your show first. I took mine apart because the left exciter is making a loud thumping noise and won't turn off when I turn it off on the machine like the right one does. I had to use duct tape to make sure that the metal part on the legends. No one can see the duct tape because of the lock bar.
I preordered one of these and hoping the control deck with joystick will fix this problem.
nope it don't fix it . what i find out if you go in settings and go to attract mode and turn up volume all the way up and load a game and turn down volume where you need it . it fix it for me
Thanks for the info
Thank you
The red should’ve been ATGames green or Legends Gold to blend in with the rest of the cabinet. Otherwise, I think they did it up right. I bet someone could make a trackball/spinner splitter like the GRS one for the Atari 12-in-1.
I'm hearing Glen might have a trackball in the works...look forward to seeing what he comes up with!
The white ribbon cable is for the trackball, with four wires in it attached to the PCB. There's a wire each for +5V, GND, X-Axis, and Y-Axis, just need to figure what each is and splice into them appropriately to attach a spinner as the X-Axis. This should definitely be doable.
This is Patrick from PDubs Arcade Loft, and let's get started...
Lmao 🤣
Do the exciters rattle real bad like the original? I've tried everything to stop the plastic from rattling but since the exciters on mine are attached directly to the plastic its unbearably bad.
When set to high yes, but I usually have it set to medium
One Question how do you exit from Queens up to the pinball tables
Does it have better haptics then the stock?
That's what many channels have reported.
some reason this control deck don't work in Taito pinball tables you cant change any setting in game . i don't know if I'm doing something wrong
Arkanoid!!!
Lol Best Game Ever!
What does the yellow and black cable under the control panel go to?
I love this. I really want a ALU Pinball but I really dont want to spend 700 plus 200 for the control panel. Now 700 for both maaaaybe I bite!
i don't see this control deck going on sale anytime soon . cuz people are buying them at $200
I AM VERY EXCITED FOR THIS AND LOOK FORWARD PAYING FOR IT. (All caps to emphasize inside joke)
Lol 😆 it's a cool accessory
I can't wait to play Galaga on this.
Gotta love Galaga!
PDubs,
Yeah, I picked this up on National Owners Day and $100 is the sweet spot for sure. The smaller Joystick reminds me of the ones found on the old Nintendo Arcade Cabinets (Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Popeye, etc.), though maybe a smidge bigger.
I did, as you suggested, complete my purchase for the Volume 1-4 Zaccaria Tables. Just waiting for a word on the Pinball Table (and this sweet Joystick panel, of course). Then I'm going to try my hand at the Coinops upgrade you did. Your video was very informative, and now I just have to hunt down the software.
Thank you as always for your reviews and tutorials. I'm not a modder, I prefer things plug n' play, but it's great that AtGames provides these options and their forethought to place the cables to connect the new Joystick peripheral in an easily accessible manner.
Have a great one!
vgv
Now if we could only find one of the pinball machines to purchase :)
A bunch were sold on Sam's Club website today
@@PDubsArcadeLoft dang. I kept checking too.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft sort of regretting now pre-ordering the marval pinball . This looks so much better. I already own the legends arcade v2 and that thing is A+.
Music please?
Instabuy ❤️🏁🍮
Lol thanks Adam
tampa tech hot glued his in, they came damaged . watch his video
Hello! Got it all working except the trackball doesn't register on a few games including Centipede, Millipede, and Blades of Steel. The joystick works only. In Advanced Controls it's like it doesn't register my trackball. However it works in most of the bowling games on CoinOpsX WOPR. Any thoughts? Judging by you playing Centipede and not saying anything about the trackball makes me think it's my error.
Need to be on firmware 5.61.0 for trackball to work they broke it on the firmwares after
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Dude, thanks for the response. I’ll check that out first thing in the morning. Is there a way to revert to the older firmware you noted?
So was not sure how to roll back to 5.61 (noticed mine was set to 5.65). However, I updated to the “with Cheese” build and the trackball now works with Centipede and Millipede on 5.65! Thanks for reaching back and responding! I enjoy your show and content. I’m with you on Nicole too 😬
