    My Cuban wife still does this no matter how I and our kids help after 28 years! It turns out, she mentally sees letters of difficult words and sounds the 2 vowels apart as a diphthong. It's like Sh-ay-et and should be Shíít.😃

    • @tarlespeech
      @tarlespeech  8 месяцев назад +1

      Suggest that she just smile and doesn’t move her mouth for the e. Maybe write it Shet. But since Spanish doesn’t have the same vowels it’s probably going to be tough to change. She can do it with a lot of practice.
      I’m sure she’s perfect in every other way 🤩

    Min 2:55, too funny, you are too cute, you cannot say shit without smiling! haha, now, I got a real question here, when you say the short "i" in sit, sounds a lot like 'set', also, it is kind of confusing sometimes when you hear sheet, shit, cheat!, like "you are cheating" and you are like "what?"!, I've been living in the US for 8 years now and I still have issues with that, especially in the south where not all the words are pronounced really well! :), same with the word pecan, I've heard people adding accent on the e, other on the a, or changing the sounds of the "e" for an "ea"
