In British English yes, because in British English you do not pronounce the "r" at the end of the word when the word is followed by nothing or followed by a consonant. You pronounce "r" in British English only when it is followed by a vowel.

There is also "all". We French often forget that there is no h. One I mispronounced the word focus. I said f.. Us. PEOPLE were looking at me weird, I didn't get it
