It's been 21 years now since we lost Jon Pertwee. I wish he'd lived long enough to see Doctor Who's revival in 2005, I think he would have been proud. A very talented and much-missed actor. 😢
I dread it too. The only other time I cried over a TV star was in 2012 when Larry Hagman who played JR Ewing on Dallas passed away. He passed on the 23rd November 2012 too, Doctor Who's anniversary date which upset me even more. I love both Doctor Who & Dallas.
I was totally heart broken when i found that Jon had died, i loved all his tv shows that he did, what a remarkable man Jon was! He is my all time favourite actor & always will be.
I was in a shop and I heard the news on the radio. I couldn't be absolutely 100% certain of what I had heard... so I actually ran home and phoned the BBC. They confirmed it. It was a very sad day. I remember it as if it was yesterday.
So glad I got to live on the earth at the same time as this wonderful gentleman. He truly made the role the popular culture icon that it has become. And to create another iconic character for Worzel Gummidge. :) Rest In Peace Jon Pertwee.
He was given a summerlong gig at the Liverpool Garden Festival in the early 80's as Worzel. He would just buzz around on a 3 wheeled motorbike stopping and chatting to vistors. So accessible and friendly. Seems to have been a really nice bloke.
Happy 100th Jon. Such a great actor, and a large part of Doctor Who, as well as Worzel Gummidge, Carry On and his guest appearance in The Goodies. He was my childhood, and I still miss him.
Just a few days later, on Spring Bank Holiday, the Doctor Who TV Movie staring Paul McGann was screened. Difficult to believe that 20 years have passed, oh for a Time Machine.
And what's even sadder, Jon and Sylvester were interviewed and they were told about an upcoming doctor who movie. Both said they would watch it. And Jon died days before the movie aired...😢😭
Jon Pertwee Death was announce on ITV News at Ten 7 days before the fail American Doctor Who movie was Broadcast on BBC1 on Bank Holiday Monday on 27th of May 1996, I remember BBC1 Paying tribute to Jon Pertwee at the end of the movie. Sad indeed.
It is so sad that he died. I remember him for his role of Spotty on Superted, and at 2:21 it's not everyday you get to see Worzel Gummidge and Goofy together.
I was only about 11 when he died, but thanks to my mum who grew up watching him, I myself grew up watching his episodes and was always enthralled by his James Bond style at playing the Doctor
I remember this report so well. Jon Pertwee was my first Doctor along with Jo Grant! He'd have loved todays Doctor Who. I wonder what he would have made of Jodie Whittaker as The 13th Doctor
idk 1234 Pertwee did Season 7 to 11. That is 5 season, now you continue to do the mathematics by researching his tenure on Wikipedia and google. Perhaps you don’t count 1970 as a actual year????

It's only 5 years if you ignore the fact months exist. January 1970 - June 1974 is roughly 4 and a half years. Also seasons 10 and 11 started in 1972 and 1973 respectively.
The disappointment when they say Colin Baker is reporting and the reporter doesn't turn out to be THE Colin Baker.
I know, what are the odds!
The air zone solution
@@sidneychannel That's not connected to Doctor Who.
Well it have Sylvester McCoy and Colin baker and peter Davison and Jon pertwee
@@sidneychannel But it isn't Doctor Who.
I met Jon Pertwee in 1993. He was such a nice man. A good actor. A good comedian. The first Doctor Who I ever got a autograph from.
I would love to see a multi-Doctor episode in which Sean plays the third Doctor as a tribute to Jon

@@DemetriusSorvo they used audio from the unfinished fan film Devious in one story

I dread the day we hear the same news about Tom Baker!
It's scary to think that he's almost 10 years older than Jon pertwee was when he died
A bit morbid.
Tom

I think Jon Pertwee was the best doctor. R.I.P my funniest and best doctor.
I agree
And for his death we must reverse the polarity of the neutron flow
He was fabulous as the Doctor. He's my fave.
Jon’s role as the third incarnation of Dr Who is more & more appreciated as time marches on. R.I.P, my absolute favourite Doctor.

Jodie Whittaker is not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Jon.

I saw an interview on YT a week ago recorded just 8 days before he died.
To me he was THE Doctor.
Seven weirdos disliked this. They need to see an actual doctor.
There's fifteen of them now. Jon was terrific as the Doctor. How could anyone dislike a news report about the death of someone. It beggars belief.
The best classic Doctor!
20 Years Ago today.
R.I.P John never got to meet you
He also lens his voice to Spotty Man in the Children's Animated series SuperTed
