    You forgot to mention this addition to the New Model Y: "Blind Spot Monitoring
    Lights in the door side mirrors and on-screen visualisations help you safely check your surroundings." per Tesla's Australian website. Many people will welcome this change and other vehicles will be able to see it like on other cars which can be helpful to know you are in their blindspot and their car is aware of that.

    i am one of the affected users with the "short circuit" problem: I took delivery of my Model 3 in sept 2024 and within 2 months the computer broke after the SW holiday update; no navigation, no more cameras. i've immediately made a service request through the app but no word from tesla yet when it can be replaced. im driving around in a "blind" car for 2 months already. when i reach out i got told that they are waiting for parts... with all the cars currently sitting in inventory you would say that maybe we can use those computers.. especially with everyone now waiting for the new Model Y

      I got mine in June last year. And while sitting at work I see that my sentry modes stopped working in my notifications.
      And that was the welcome to a new journey of headaches.
      They made me wait like a month for me appointment but I needed my brand new car for a business trip I had to attend in October.
      I was able to rush them and get my stuff fixed but unfortunately I drove the car like 1 time and I got a small dent/scratch before my appointment. Someone did it I believe and obviously no cameras were working at all. But now my car is amazing. Apart from going blind in full darkness because it relies on cameras.

    This morning it was 5 deg. I had 90% battery so I didn't plug it in overnight. I hit the defrost a few minutes before I left. I only have a 4 mile tcommute. The Wh/mi went up to 960 so I turned the heat off. A little bit of frost over the camera wouldn't let FSD engage even thought was less occluded than my trip to DC. Don't you think all the cameras will need washer fluid or some other means of cleaning to be a real robotaxi? We can't have cars stopping on the side of the road all the time with people getting out to clean the cameras.

    This is a huge improvement over the previous Model Y. New light bars front and rear look amazing and gives the Y a modern makeover. I'm getting tired of the old taillights which the Y shares with 3 for the past several years now. So glad there's a differentiation now. Also the red rear lightbars seem to be a lot deeper and more intense red compared to before, really giving it a more premium look. Power rear seats and auto trunk when you walk towards it with groceries are huge improvement and makes life so much easier. The frunk doesn't seem to be power-operated and to me it isn't important as I rarely use it and it's not like it weighs a ton to lift up and down. I'll have one in my driveway in December when my lease ends on my current Y. The wait begins....

    I used FSD yesterday with a 1/2" of snow on the road. As soon as the wheels slipped, it disengaged.

  • @jeremy7046
    @jeremy7046 11 дней назад

    FSD just drove me from Columbus Ohio to Baltimore MD then to DC in my 2024 M3 with LFP batteries. I had to charge twice. Many of the Superchargers are at Sheetz gas stations. There was 6 inches of snow a couple of days ago. Roads were mostly clear. There were some flurries in the mountains and some black ice. A few cars spun out. As for the FSD, it was really good. A few things scared me, but this is normal. Sometimes it acts assertive in merging conditions. Sometimes it would get stuck behind a slow car and not pass even though there wasn't any traffic. Ice was falling off a semi right in front of me but FSD didn't care. The cameras and windshield got very dirty from the road salt and spray from other cars. It was hard to keep the windshield clean so I gave up. FSD kept driving. It only turned on the wipers a couple times (didn't accomplish much). I kept an eye on the other cameras. They were very dirty. I could barely see the road through the dirt. But FSD kept going. Eventually it gave up and I did have to take over. I had to stop soon for a charge anyway so I cleaned the cameras there. I have pictures of the occluded cameras if you're interested.

    Real concern that it doesn’t have steer by wire, V2X/G, 800v charging. For a car that was released in China and the countries that China manufacture for Tesla is now falling behind its competitors.

      @ Yes I had heard, but I like to buy a model that has been out for a couple years to avoid all the “New Car Issues” that seem to always happen. I have the Black with White Interior and I am very happy with it.

    I am really glad that Tesla decided not to emasculate the Model Y's indicator stalk. Now I might consider a Tesla Y after all. I am glad there are no drastic changes with the powertrain as that will help reliability.
