John Good, Don Lombardi, and the whole DW family celebrate 50 years of inspiration with these limited edition drums and pedals. #DW50 See more at dwdrums.com
These men have achieved the absolute pinnacle of drum technology and aesthetics. They knew this, which is why Josh Freese is the man behind this incredible kit. Great video!!
I just recently received my custom collector 8 inch Tom with black nickel hardware and the lacquer is robins egg blue, and I just wanted to thank DW for this gift. However, it didn’t come with a birth certificate or any recognition was a little disappointed, but still amazing.
I'm yet to own a DW kit, watching this video has now made it a priority . They have such a beautiful punchy rich sound, and seeing the dedication John and Don have put into their craft is so reassuring for the next 50yrs for DW.
Thank you, John, for all your many years of hard work creating some of the best-sounding eye-catching drums in the world. I've owned 3 DW Collectors Series Maple kits and have always been thankful for such great engineering, sound, and appeal. Please continue to inspire us all to make better music with whatever God puts in you to create even better drums (if that's even possible, Lol). God bless you!!
DW and TAMA are the only companies I truly love.... I started with TAMA and had my fair share with DW every time I had to rent it out from a friend of mine who doesn't play much gigs..
I’ve been a DW player since my birthday this year when my parents bought me a DW Collector’s Series kit out of all things! What can I say, thank you guys for the innovation!
please never for a second take for granted how fortunate you are, many many many parents would struggle to buy a drumkit for their kid, and its typically a very large serious purchase, receiving a DW kit as a birthday gift is like winning the lottery. just never forget how fortunate you are and never take it for granted ever for a second. please.
Play the life out of that kit man. Like the other guy said, lots of parents can't buy their kids ANY drum set because they're very large and expensive instruments. I know lots of drummers in my area who don't have a drum kit of their own at their house. Practice every day!
Congratulations DW,wow 50 years.i remember the first time I seen a kit in modern drummer magazine. I knew someday I would own a kit.well after 50 years I have owned 8 collector kits, and recently bought a 11pc.performance kit.Just the greatest drums and hardware on the market today.Thank you DW for your inovation, your the best.
Congratulations and thank you DW for pushing the boundaries in drum development and manufacturing. Your innovations have pushed the industry forward! 🙏🏾🎉
Thank you John and Don for your contributions to our Drumming world. Love my 9K Pedals and keep a well worn 5K as a spare. Might have to check out. And thes 50THs are stunning. MAybe someday ....sigh LOL. I've owned 6 DW Kits, have visited the showroom, just love the workmanship of everything. Currently have Jazz Series and Classics (Buddy Tribute) kits and they are stunning. Personally prefer them to collectors which are also excellent. Keep up the good work and Thank you so much for what you've done.
@@csrboltfan2643 Superb quality. Every time. I purchased 2 new, 4 used. Usually a case of sizes or swapping finishes, trading up, etc. Always wanted a DW kit but price was out of range. Came into first one used at a Sam Ash that I could afford in 2006. Eventually sold and traded up for a collectors kit I liked more. Purchased a Classics series in 2009 new which was different but I really liked...then sold when I came across a Classic Buddy Tribute kit- Same Shells but Bearvertail Lugs. I still own my Jazz Series and the Buddy Kit. Cannot beat the quality.
all drummers out there will love dw drums so much and im also in love with dw drums in my almost 50 years also as a drummer......☺☺☺☺ i love to play dw drums so much....
50 years old and I wish I had one of these so that one day I would die happy and know that I had mine. Unfortunately, they are so expensive that you can't. 😭 happy anniversary DW.. - At least to sacrifices I got my pedal... As little as possible.
Happy 50th to all at DW - best drums in the world🏆 that´s a beautiful anniversary kit❤ Thank you for all the incredible innovation you´ve made to the drumming community - hope there is more in the goodybag 🤞🏻 Have a great party this weekend and beyond - would love to have been there with you, must make a visit in the near future, i hope🤞🏻🎉 #dwdrums #DW50
I had a DW Collectors Series purple heart kit custom made to match the sizes of their frequent flyer kit as a divorce present to myself. I get great joy just looking at it.
I remember being able to purchase the first generation DW 5000 double pedal way back...the pedal linkage uses holes and auto hood pins instead of today's drumkey screws...it cost almost as much as a whole 2nd bass drum but l went for it...the thing came with a crude, photocopied instruction sheet...humble beginnings indeed...wonder how much it's now worth to collectors, since it's as old as some "vintage" drums on the market...😉
I would absolutely love to have a dw Maple Mahogany set. It's just you could buy a used car for the amount it cost! With inflation I just can't justify that purchase. I definitely see that John has enormous passion for what he does and the amount of love they put into creating their drums.
These update are unparalleled. That said I would love to install lights into a DW acrylic kit! I have already had some success with a project featuring my Roland kit. Now that DW has been acquired I'm excited to see what's on the horizon for acoustic electric drums.
These are beautiful drums!. John should be proud. They have a warmth to them that belongs with the classiness they project. Need to find a buddy rich style drummer to demo them properly. Cause these are jazz drums if I ever heard it. Waited a long time. Wondering how they could ever top the 45th anniversary set. And I think they stand together as testaments. Neither better or worse. Just fine instruments...
*Who would have thought 💭 it all started with tennis ball 🎾 thump on a spruce 🌲 garage door. But that’s what it takes from a good ear 👂🏻 to notice that unique residence.* The trees 🌳 are alive with the sound of music 🎶! 👍🏻
Aunque nunca tócare una batería dW, creo que está es una de las mejores marcas a nivel mundial, ya que producen un buen sonido y muchos bateristas profesionales la prefieren.
@@csrboltfan2643 what do you mean why do you see that thing lol. Plus I’ve been playing the same iron cobra since I was 14 I turn 22 tomorrow and I’ve been wanting a 5000 just never got one but this one will definitely have to come home with me. That carbon fiber foot board look heavenly.
Do you guys make any adaptive pedals? I can’t lift my foot off the ground anymore and there’s no way I’m going to be able to get where I was. I need a flat footboard that has more spring. Idk, either that or a strap hanging from the ceiling I can loop my leg through.
Thick heavy ass shells. ??? Brothers, what models/kits have thick or very thick shell drums? Pls recommend some models. I don’t know where to look for them. Thick shells!Thnxx ❤
Josh Frese is the legend. DW and Paiste=perfection
He really is. One of my top three favorite drummers.
He’s badass with APC. Cat can play anything!
These men have achieved the absolute pinnacle of drum technology and aesthetics. They knew this, which is why Josh Freese is the man behind this incredible kit. Great video!!
Whoever thought that simple yet passionate talking over the sound of powerful drums was a good idea...
You are a straight up genius. I got goosebumps.
Knowing that Josh Freese has been a DW artist since 1984 makes me so much happy. Cheers for the next 50! 🥁🥁🥁
John- Please send me a DW set. I have been drumming for almost 50 years. I will wear DW swag for the next 5 years!
Minus well sign up for endorsements 🤣

That hardware is the best looking finish I've ever seen! Beautiful work gentlemen and ladies.
Love me some Josh Freese. See you at PF Chang's soon!
I would love to have this kit. I’m probably going to settle for a garage door and a tennis ball.
🤣
hahahahahaah!!!! it has to be made out of Spruce!
Knob Turner, that's hilarious. I'm not able to come up with stuff like that. Stratavari (yea, the famous one) used spruce for his violins .
This comment wins, hands down.
Going back to American Dream 3, incredible to see Josh still with you and glad you picked him :)
Incredible looking drums, well done DW :)

imagine sitting behind that kit as an owner, heaven
Saw it in person on Friday. No surprise that DW made another beautiful kit.
Nice ! And of course those highest end Paiste sure help that sweet brown sound

Just Wonderful
GORGEOUS KIT
Those drums look and sound amazing! So the price most be amazing too :P
Price wise it has to compete with a Pearl Masterworks. I still like the DW better. Sorry Pearl.
Josh was one of my favorite drummers growing up
Congrats DW

I play my Yamaha drums and sound pretty cool. I was nervous playing live however I was on a DW set and sounded like twice the drummer!
2:30 nice nice drumming man~! So cool👍👍
Love to hear them without being belted to the moon and back.
love it!!🤩🤩🤩🤩
HBD DW. I need my first drumkit
Someday, one day, I also want to own one of these!!!
Beautiful set. My mind says buy it, but my pocket wants to stay full

My dream kit right there 😭 wish I didn’t have to sell my all maple DW , rough times ☹️ someday

So how much is this 50th anniversary kit?
DW is the Apple of drums.
Never! Tama is Best!
Spruce is an amazing sounding wood
Tell Josh he looks very handsome here
How do you know the garage door was made of spruce if you were a kid and about to move to Italy?
More Josh Freese videos of him drumming please.
The drum kit for the professional drummer. 🥁🥁🥁🥁 Most of us ,it's out of our reach..

Can I consider myself part of the DW family if I bought a PDP Concept Maple? 'Cause I've been a DW fan for years!!!
