Easily the best short-haul steamer ever made. As evidenced by the fact that many companies were still demanding new ones up into the mid 1960's, when there had been plenty of good diesel options available (including from Hunslet themselves) for 15 years - and still many in use into the 1980s. Forgiving to fire, easy to drive, mostly quite easy to maintain, little to go wrong and fantastic pulling power for an engine of its compact size. Hunslet really knew what they were doing with this product!
HI, I posted earlier a comment on your channel, but you did not reply me: I am an editor for 24trains.tv and we would love to see your videos as well on our channel. Howe we can get in touch with you to arrange this nicely ? Thanks in advance ! Kind regards, Fabian
Yes you did when whiston went for a visit at a railway close to her home in Staffordshire. The s160 is owned by the Churnet Vally railway. They currently have 1 in operation and 2 under overhaul

Man!! The sounds these make something else! Number 49 really is a smart looking engine too. Love it!! :-)
Me in the front window at 31:00!
Nice video👍, except no.49 is a Robert Stephenson and hawthorns austerity.
Thanks, will update my notes and add a note in description. Also I had the works number down as wrong (I had its WD number down as its works number)
Very nice done :)
Nice parade of saddles there :)
Almost all saddles😉
Wimblebury sounds decidedly off beat.
