      I think this would be really helpful, as it's a good way to check your level in different areas. I find the N4 listening and reading to be easy, but when I think about what I can spontaneously produce, it's probably around this level. I think there will be the most demand for N5/N4 videos, but it would be nice to have a good number of N3 videos too, and at least an example video for N2 and for N1

    It's an interesting phenomenon, being able to comfortably understand everything that's being said, but knowing that the relatively advanced phrasing would never have occurred to you to say yourself. Guess that's just how it is when there isn't anyone to practice conversations with.

    • @Shiojiri22
      @Shiojiri22 7 месяцев назад +21

      Wow that's exactly what I was thinking. Since Japanese isn't my only second language, I'm very familiar with this feeling of being able to comfortably comprehend whatever is being said, but realising that I wouldn't be able to speak like that myself. It's just a symptom of not practicing speaking the language. It happens with your first language too, but the difference in comprehension and skills and speaking skills isn't much since you would have enough practice. It's interesting how our brains work lol.

    • @Suedeash
      @Suedeash 7 месяцев назад +11

      That's why if you can, use apps like HelloTalk, or try and find conversation groups near you. The other option is to just talk to yourself like you're insane which is what I mostly do, but you can only really go so far with that (but it helps because you need to practice speaking and constructing sentences). Failing all the above, just blow your life savings and go to Japan, that is truthfully the most effective way to learn rapidly.

      It basically means "I need to think about what can I do in order to keep it from being eaten"

To do that at the same pace and with the same phrasing, I know for a fact I can't do that now. There are many technical aspects of the language she uses here which I'm not yet familiar with. I never studied grammar I’m not saying it doesn’t work because it does but don’t try to brute force memorize it because your brain will have a huge conscious time lag. Idk how much you understood but definitely shouldn’t take long with 5 years of kanji study. Did you only study the writing system? Because I would imagine you would’ve read or watched tv shows or something because no grammar means little to none traditional school and textbook study. Because even a little vocab, kanji, and input for, I don’t wanna put a number on it but let’s say 1-2 years should easily get here realistically if your not like me (lazy) it can be done in less than half a year. I assume tho you meant you understood it but the grammar was elusive making it ambiguous or a “I know the words but not the sentence” moment.

    I grew up watching TV as a kid in Tokyo between 1979-83. I knew ZERO Japanese before arriving in Japan. I understood every word you said, including the structure and implied tenses.

    Wow! I cannot believe it 😱 I could understand 80-95% in the first one without subtitles, and 100% in the next two versions. This is so cool.

    Thanks for your video! I think I need to concentrate on learning more vocabulary. The grammar was all fine. I just didnt know what alarm, makeup or the noun for waking up early was for example. Such a great channel

    I found this easier than the N5 video because the speed and cadance was more normal. My only problem was I didn't know the word for trash ゴミ, which caused some problems with the start of the last one. haha. Less familiar with some of the grammar, meaning was very easy to follow. I'd say I understood about ~95% on this one.
    Keep up the good videos, great content!

    Great practise., thanks for that Mochi sensei! Personally for me N3 would be a good challenge, but its better to post a voting on the channel to understand the level of your subscribers and adjust accordingly!

    I want more of N5 and N4 ( N5 was a piece of cake ) but I’ve struggled a bit with this one , if I have to grade myself I would say I scored 55 out of 100 😅😅😅

    I just listened to the N5 sentences and I could understand them all without subtitles. Now here in N4, I can spot the differences. I listened to the first sentence without subtitle and I understood, but I can tell all the things she added in between the phrases. I understand but It’s difficult for me to do these kind of phrases when I talk/write Japanese.

    I'm just going to keep listening and see if I learn some things. At least I get listening training to get used to how Japanese sound.
