Myles is just as good, if not even better, live as he is in the studio. He's remarkable and with Tremonti ripping it doesn't get much better. AB is phenomenal.

Saw them live earlier this year. There were moments that I couldn't help but just say "wow" while Myles was singing . Best singer I've ever personally seen live.
See a lot of people praising Tremonti on this, but let’s not forget that this song was written mostly by Myles. Myles has the incredible first half of the solo before Tremonti rips his own solo. Myles is an amazing guitarist on his own.
Myles is an incredible guitarist no doubt. It’s the way the two guitar parts flow and dance throughout the entire song and it just peaks during that solo. It an incredible song and one of my favorite songs of all time. Love AB!

Just releasing their 6th studio album this past October! And Mark Tremonti was just named Guitarist of the Decade by Guitar World Magazine! And actually the solo in Blackbird was also voted greatest guitar solo of all time by Guitarist magazine as well! This song was written about Myles Kennedys life long friend Mark Morris who passed away from a battle with an illness. These guys are seriously incredible and severely underrated! Myles Kennedy, the vocalist here, is from my hometown of Spokane. Before Alter Bridge, he was in a local band called "The Mayfield Four". Formed in 96, lasted until 2002. I'd recommend the songs "Mars Hotel", "White Flag", or "Carry On" from their album Second Skin.

I echo all the comments recommending the Live at the Albert Hall show live with a full orchestra. One of the most incredible shows I have ever attended and I have been to a huge number of gigs over the years. Absolute perfection and the Parallax Orchestra are badass! Not what you expect at all. Young, hip, and totally into what they are a part of!
AlterBridge - the most underrated band that should get more attention than many other bands out there.... This song is one of those gems created which carries so much weight and heavy emotions on it..... Live version at Alberta Hall is even more powerful, despite the fact Myles was sick during that tour but sang anyway....

The lyrics reflect a gentleman that passed before his time that the band affectionately referred to as 'Blackbird.' I believe he is the man whom gave Myles Kennedy (the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist) his first guitar. I would highly recommend 'Cry of Achilles,' 'Words Darker Than Their Wings (Live at Royal Albert Hall), 'Fortress,' 'Losing Patience,' and 'Clear Horizon.' (To be honest, I'd listen all six of their albums...haha).
Myles has such an amazing voice. I literally got goosebumps watching your reaction, especially near the end where his voice just sails. It's hard to believe he never got recognition for his great talents until his 40's.

I played this song at my husband's funeral service four years ago...still can't hear it without crying. The fact that the lyrics are so relevant to what's going on in the US at the moment, makes it even sadder.

Blackbird was one of those albums where any given song could have been a radio single. All very strong songs.

This about the singer's best friend who died of cancer. The Blackbird/Crow represents the soul in folklore. Check out ALTER BRIDGE "In Loving Memory" another dedication song to the guitarist Mark Tremonti's mother who had passed away it's a very beautiful and moving song.

The lyrics reflect a gentleman that passed before his time that the band affectionately referred to as 'Blackbird.' I believe he is the man whom gave Myles Kennedy (the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist) his first guitar. I would highly recommend 'Cry of Achilles,' 'Words Darker Than Their Wings (Live at Royal Albert Hall), 'Fortress,' 'Losing Patience,' and 'Clear Horizon.' (To be honest, I'd listen all six of their albums...haha).
