    As a sarawakian studying in west malaysia.. these stereotypes are actually a form of entertainment. This one time i told a friend of mine.. a fella from KL why we live on tree. I told him "back in the days our ancestors can fly like birds. Such ability gave them so much advantage when they go to other villages for headhunting. So living on trees made it easy for them to fly higher and at the same time stay close to the ground just in case our enemy come from the ground". Then i told him "our ancestors ancient Gods took their wings away. Because they killed so many innocent lives when they attack other village during headhunting" his reaction was priceless. For a few days he actually believed in it. His reaction when he find out from another sarawakian that the story wasn't real was even more priceless. 😂😂😂😂

I have friend who was joined programme in KL, during the programme someone from KL said "Labuan kat mana ehh? Labuan ada airport ke? Labuan ni dalam Malaysia ke? Kamu datang sini pakai sampan ke?". This negative perspectives were brought in by some Semenanjung people back in 70s and 80s. Some of them worked as the government officers. i don't know why they did that. They felt superior to the Sabah and Sarawak people. Anyway this was long time ago perspective that should be buried and forgotten but unfortunately the perspectives were spread to their next generation which is us. However with the modernization and accessibility to go Sabah and Sarawak nowadays. Bit by bit, the perspective is started to diminish. Only some hardcore semenanjung people still stick to the negative perception.

    I'm surprised and actually don't believe it at all when I heard that there are Malaysians who asked if Sabah and Sarawak are Malaysia and asked if they needed passport to get here (peninsula), I mean even if you are too ignorant to care, didn't we learn Malaysian map few times in primary school, at least once in Seni, once in BM class, and if you even passed that, at least once in geography during secondary school. Heck, it's our own country map! How could you not know?!
    I did not believe this happen, until one of my Sabahan friend got that question personally, then only I believe though still in shock - Unbelievable!
    Those who are like that must have skipped school or did not go to school! Mesti bukan sekolah kebangsaan kan? 🙄🙄
    But then, my dad was an army, we are from Perak, and my dad got transferred to Sabah once when I was little and I had many Sarawak friends when in primary when their dads are transferred to here in Wardieburn camp. So maybe that's why I am aware of Sabah & Sarawak friends since early age..
    But still I found it stupid that they think Sabah & Sarawak aren't Malaysia - very ignorant and shallow

    • @idekontraproduction
      @idekontraproduction 4 года назад +2

      Some people got it confused about the passport issue because people from Peninsular Malaysia need to have passport or Dokumen Perjalanan Terhad to enter Sabah and Sarawak, while the Sabahan and Sarawakian do not need any special documents. So, in some people's minds, since peninsular people need passport, they also want to know if the Sabahan or Sarawakian needed passport to enter Peninsular Malaysia.

      its nina ak keje kilang dkt shah alam one time tu ak borak ngan makcik sabah with few of her friends la kan kita org borak pasal sabah, dtg la mamat sabah ni dy curi dgr kita org borak. Abis je keje nk pukul ak sbb ak terangkan dkt member ak dgn loghat kelantan pasal y kita borak dgn acik tu. I mean what the fuck man sbb ko xfhm ko nk pkl ak. Nasib member ak dtg sekat klu x mampus mamat kena ganyang dkt ak. So ak letgo ak ckp dlm hati mungkin dlm org sabah dy sorang je gila. Xsampai sebulan ad kes lgi dgn budak sabah, bkn ak la member serumah keje dy kat kilang hntar barang dkt pastu awek sabah borak ngan dy, borak pasal keje la abis je borak ad 4 org mamat sabah tarik member ak pkl member ak ngan kusi n batang besi. Member ak cerita la dkt kwn dy y dy kena pkl tanpa sbb so ad la wakil member ak tanya bdk sabah sbb ap pkl. Rupanya dy minat dkt awek tu tpi xde dlm hubungan ap lagi. Org kata angan angan mat jenin. Hahahaha syok sendiri. Abis je waktu keje member ak ngan member dy y dy buat wakil ckp tu kena pkl kat tmpt parking dgn 11 org mamat sabah bersepai muka ngan darah sbb diorang pkai buku lima. Ko pikir 11 org tibai 2 org. Pastu baru guard masuk campur p balai masuk penjara dgr kata sampai skrg 11 org tu. Persepsi ak terus berubah dkt sabah y semua mamat sabah xde otak deserve a fuck if i meet one

    Sarawak an Sabah peoples are more open-minded, they have Western+Indonesia names, West Malaysians are stiff, old-school, conservative, use Islamic Arabic names.

    Come on guys. This was published omn September friggin’ 2018 and you were highlighting on such content? Are you kidding me? Bro?!
    You you and you actually make your own country-self looks BAD when only unsignificant RARE incidents happened somewhere nowhere around Malaysia.
    Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy FEDERATION country which upholds unity and peace as its most powerful virtue, strength and basis for future development what you did MAY triggered cracks and spawn evil hatred amongst us!
    If you tell me this is only for an entertainment, guess what? I’n gonna slap you back with this. NOBODY MAKES FUN OF THINGS LIKE THESE.
