Thank you! You explain things clearly and concisely, and you leave your ego at the door. There's nothing worse than someone shredding the guitar whilst teaching you the simple things. Keep up the great work!
the pacing of this video was incredibly slow and tedious....thanks for that, made it easier to go along with and get it down, i didn't even need to pause the video and only needed to watch it once to get me on my way. just got to make it smooth and start speeding it up! cheers andy!

Thanks for the Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Rozardner Inspiring Chord Reality (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome exclusive product for how to play guitar scales without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my GF after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.
Really helpful this Andy, I did or do know it (already play this when warming up my finger's) but couldn't remember what I'd learned, I do or also go from the top of the neck to the bottom & back, thank you so much for your video's & time my friend 👏😀👍
So, while you are using C as your starting point, what you are really doing is teaching a movable shape that would work from the E string regardless of the root note, correct? In other words, I can do the same thing starting from the G on the E string, A on the E string, etc. I ask because I am the type of person that wants to understand what I'm doing, not just do it.
Hi Andy. Quick question, as a beginner/ intermediate player, what are some top tips for learning the fret board and lead guitar? What's most important thing to practice or learn? Cheers, David Wirral England.
the vibe that he express to the watcher none utuber had done this to me... he seems such a nice generous guy .... a lot of good feelings and i am so happy that i found him now that i start playing quitar and i support him on his site... he definetly deserves it...
I got the Cm, great I've got this.. Cmaj.. wha, wait, halp! This is going to take some work. Can you please tell us which frets we're starting on? *Edit* Have watched it a few times and scribbled them down. Cheers Andy! x
No shade, I actually have paid for a few of the Andy guitar courses but I think he mis speaks and says middle to 3rd on the second to last sequence when he means middle to 4th which is what he actually plays
Hello Andy. I got an electric guitar on christmas, but I'm having trouble when I'm playing a string with my little finger. Is there a way to train this in a good way?
🤷beginner here So minor Pentatonic starts on first finger ! Up and down using scale! Major pent scale starts from 4 finger, up and down again to 1st finger and finish on 4 finger. So exactly the Same other than start point. Are you showing major pentatonic scale named position 5 ? Just realised the major scale is just like using the whole notes on 1st 3 frets including open notes.
hello Andy... my fingers are very sensitive and it pains every time i press the strings... can u help me out.... now i know it's more of a medical thing... but is there anyway altenative i can choose to play guitar
Hi Andy, sorry for such a silly question, but, why are your strings taped down? Thank you for covering this topic, as always, it was an incredibly helpful and clear lesson.
So confusing sometimes. The minor scale played at the 5th fret is the AM scale which is the only one knew. I've seen diagrams with that same pattern played at 3rd fret...what is that?
Kevin Delk with guitar the fingerings of scales are all the same. So all you have to do to change an a minor scale is to move it down two frets to make the root a g and that’s g minor with the same fingering. In other words learning one minor scale is also learning all the minor scales. It just depends on where you start the scale to determine the key. Good luck.
What I learnt recently is that the patterns you learn for the major scale are exactly the same as the patterns for a minor scale, but they are not necessarily in the same order LOL
They are the same, and they are in the same order, but only for the major scale and natural minor scale (confusing thing is the two other minor scales; harmonic minor and melodic minor) But the shapes are always the same position 1 2 3 etc ✌
Thank you! You explain things clearly and concisely, and you leave your ego at the door. There's nothing worse than someone shredding the guitar whilst teaching you the simple things. Keep up the great work!
This is the first time I've ever understood the words my old instructors were saying. This clicks for me in rhythm unlike before
I love this guy. He has taught me so much! This guy is a musical saint!
I'm a beginner and I've been watching some of your videos and I now know how to play e and a thank you very much

Do you have a recommendation for a good book to use as a complete beginner?
Working on my scales. Thanks Andy.
I immediately liked this video because he has same Epiphone as I have. How immature of me :)
Love how he says little finger
lmao same xD
What about the way he says it? Didn't hear anything noteworthy to me.
Very helpful!!

Same question here....Andy?
Can anyone answer this Question??
yes you are correct
Yeah that’s correct it’s a movable shape
Yes...just just use the root note based on the chord scale you want to use it with...root note for a will be fifth fret- top string
Thanks Andy, could you possibly make a video explaining how to apply this?

Hello Andy. I got an electric guitar on christmas, but I'm having trouble when I'm playing a string with my little finger. Is there a way to train this in a good way?
Try the spider excercise, it helps with finger coordination
Andy, Very good and helpful indeed!
Thank you so very much, Sir.

Hi Andy. I was wondering if you would do a lesson for Holiday Green Day?
How long should I do this for daily. Over and over for like 30 minutes a day?
Great stuff, Andy!
This just answered everything
Could you teach us some Jake Bugg songs? I love them all so any really but Slide and Broken are my favourites. You're such a great teacher by the way.
I feel like smashin a hammer on my pinky finger !!! It just does its own thing i cant press down when stretching from the 8th thret !!

Use finger guard. Or adjust your auctions. I had this problem too but i just keep on with the pain. Eventually youll get used to it. Goodluck
Alif Mustaqim thank you♥️

Awesome
nice but Lesson plan writeup is not working!!
Hi Andy, sorry for such a silly question, but, why are your strings taped down? Thank you for covering this topic, as always, it was an incredibly helpful and clear lesson.
Emily Gallagher you mean the fret markings? Because they're to help keep track of which fret you're on: 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and so on :)
lol
So confusing sometimes. The minor scale played at the 5th fret is the AM scale which is the only one knew. I've seen diagrams with that same pattern played at 3rd fret...what is that?

if the root is on the 3rd fret low E string, it's just G minor instead of A minor, the patterns are moveable.
are most modern rnb songs in minor pentatonic?
Probably not

Play the scale first in full then show us how its done
Why not tell us notes being played & make the pentatonic scales ! Fingerings was useful !
