I’m a cuban bartender and shake the mojito is like a stab on my ❤, also if you shake it is gonna have a huge dilution. Now, in cuba we use Hierba buena instead of mints because it adds more flavor, also we use sugar instead of simple syrup, it mades the difference. And one last thing, dont put the limes inside, they add bitterness. Thank you again for bring us your content, i really love it. 🎉
Tried the milk clarification technique on a variant of the original daquiri recipe using 2 oz. Capt. Morgan Private Stock, 1 oz. fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz. Turbinado syrup. I love how you of us new ideas/twists on classic cocktails. I really look forward to trying the clarified version of your Mojito very soon. Merci my friend.
Thanks Shawn! I really hope you will give it a try. It is very interesting to réalise how much a milk washed cocktail taste different than its regular version. I feel like doing it with some flavours we se so used to is the best way to realize that. Cheers
The original Mojito as created in La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba, was made with freshly extracted sugar cane juice. Using turbinado sugar gives it a hint of the unique flavor of the juice from the cane squeezed through the trapiche. Great job!
I've made it a habit to shake the lime, rum and syrup and then stir gently for a good while with mint in the glass. That way you get a lot of flavor while keeping the mint sprigs intact, it looks nicer. After watching this video I will make one change, I will add half a lime to the shaker. I'll have to try the clarified one too when I have the time!
I made the clarified version and WOW, if it's not the smoothest cocktail I have ever had (even among all the clarified milk punches, this one takes the prize for tasting the most dangerous).

Yeah same here! well lived there for many years... Only found out when he mentioned "Plantation 3 stars" no where near GSP english for example xD well done! and thanks for the great Mojitoes!
It is also delicious without it. When I tried the first clarified mojito I made it without and it developped some flavours that made me think about the Tonka beans hence I add some next
Lazy: Actually, I really rate that. Seemed like a good way incorporate all the flavours of a Mojito and create decent dilution in the drink without the need for any bar equipment / crushed ice. Pro: This drink would taste BITTER. The way to build a Mojito is to add simple syrup/granulated sugar, squeeze in some lime wedges and muddle. THEN add the mint. When mint is muddled it can create a very bitter flavour that is easily avoided by adding after muddling the lime and sugar together. However, all for experimentation when it comes to different rums and syrups. Clarified: Interesting concept. I've never tried Tonka bean before, so would be intrigued to see what that adds to the drink. Presentation wise, looked incredible. However, not sure if any dilution is created and could be quite a strong booze-forward Mojito! Something I've always enjoyed on a Mojito is a couple of dashes of angostura bitters at the top of the crushed ice. Looks quite nice as an additional garnish to the drink (kinda like a snow cone if you stack the ice!)
i like to blend together ice, lime juice, simple syrup and dark rum then put awaken mint spings in my choice of glass and stir with bar spoon thoroughly and top it of with sparkling water. And there you have it - mojito slushie 😄
this is probably one of the top three drinks of everyone who enjoys cocktails and those who don't. and you've made it three ways, made it look even more amazing.
I've learned recently that "break" the mint inside the glass increases its taste in the drink. So my advice is to break it with the back of a spoon against the side of the cup, bringing the leaves to the top. When you "slap" the mint leaves, a lot of its taste is wasted on your hand.
Also do that first and try to leave the mints as whole as posible and corporate everyting with crushed ice. It makes for a more eye pleasing cocktail. You eat and drink with your eyes also
@@zziaht those 'tings' are going to look fancy and cool in their suits when they go corporate with crushed ice. it may definitely increase their stock price.
@@zziaht well you are the one who said everyting (_sic_) is to go corporate with crushed ice! ............. I'm just a grammar nazi messing with you. Here's your corrections: * everything, * incorporate.
White rum is un aged in wood barrels. The colour of spirits comes from the barrel aging process. I like to say that 100% of the colour and 80% of the taste in spirits come from barrel aging. But be careful, Rum is a tricky category because some "dark rums" or "spiced rums" or even what they call "gold rums" aren't aged and the colour comes from food coloring so you have to be smart when it comes to rum but that's the usual rule of thumb. It is such a shame they are so hard to get in the US. That said, you can also use mélilot extract or bison grass if you want to mimic that flavour. Cheers
I discovered the Plantation 3 stars after trying Bacardi and Havana, and I personally think it is far superior. The flavor is so much smoother, it fits a mojito and other drinks so well.
The Plantation 3 stars pairs well with an extra couple of dashes of angostura bitters. Try it, my opinion is that it's far superior to a classic mojito.
Mojito is actually my fav cocktail:) I never tried the clarified version didn`t even know it existed lol I think my fav would be the pro one but I`m probably gonna end up doing the lazy version xD
Great video. I would just say that Flor de Caña would be a better substitute for Cuban rum. Plantation 3 Stars is quite different than Havana Club, but of course, nothing wrong with it if that’s your preference.
I've got a few of those mason jars that doing the "lazy" one at home seem like you've been bartending for years. Worth it if you like having people over.
damn dude, got this recommended and subbed almost immediately, already managed to binge quite a few of your other vids too, awesome stuff :D now I 100% wanna start experimenting with cocktails, starting with this one! cheers from Czechia
it looks amazing, I think you could rince the paper filter with hot water first to remove all the paper taste that might go into the drink, this is practically a rule in the world of coffee, but as the drink is cold I don't think it will extract as much paper taste than doing coffee, just a sugestion
LOL if you look at the Manhattan Lazy, Pro, Clear video, I actually say that I don't mention that all the time but I should because evrytime I don't someone call me out on it HAHA!
Thank u for the video and thank u for your effort i have to clarify that mojito is NOT made with mint, but with "hierba luisa", which tastes like lemongrass
Clarified version looks unreal with that piece of clear ice and mint garnish, great job! How would you get a Clarified Espresso Martini? I tried with lemon juice but not matching very well with coffee flavor.
thank you so much for constantly putting up such delicious cocktails and concepts I love the clarified cocktails and I have tried out some and its always a party pleaser thanks and cheers
Incredible vid. You guys are seriously rockin' it with next-level production value. Not to mention awesome ideas and helpful info. Masterful work! Cheers!
Love the clear mojito! I little "complaint", you should never muddle the mint leaves. By doing that, you lose the fresh herbal flavour, and you get the bitter-pepperish aromas that you don't want in a mojito.
Hey Roxy, that's just my opinion and my quite long experience on the matter but if you get bitter and chlorophyle taste when muddling the mint, maybe you're doing it wrong. I always place the mint first and then, add the lime pieces. That way it creates a "cushion" between the leaves and the muddler. So if you muddle "gently" you will only extract the oils and not the unwanted taste. You will also prevent your mint from shredding which is a plus. But again, that's the method I'm comfotable with. If you like the drinks your making the way you make them, that's also the good way. Cheers!
probably not. the rind or peel of some fruits and vegetables is also called a jacket. it's interesting, though, but in Spanish, the word for eggshell is the same as the peel of a fruit or vegetable.
Bilingual things, he's probably aware that it's not the exact word he's looking for, he later uses husk. The ideas the same though so whatever. My mom uses "heel" of the bread when she means the end of a baguette.

I made the pro version an it’s the best mojito I ever had!
Discovered your vids the other day and have been binging ever since! What is the best way of storing clear cocktails? In the fridge or is room temperature preferred?
Hey Rudy! Thank you! I'm really glad you like our vids! The best way to store clarified cocktails is in the fridge. Even if clarified cocktail are pretty shelf stable, it's always best to keep em in the fridge because if your container is not sterilized, there's always contamination possibilities and cold will prevent that as much as possible. And also, that way, it'll be cold and ready to serve

great vid! btw, the "h" in "hola" is silent, so its pronounced "ola". at least, thats how it is with mexican spanish, im not sure if cuban spanish is different in that regard
I don't see much difference between the LAZY and Pro, apart from the crushed ice. I'd be happy to be served the LAZY version in a bar. But the CLEAR version looks incredible, would love to try one!
True it is pretty close. Side by side there's quite a major difference but as I try to do with this serie is to prove that the simple way can also be amazing! Cheers!
@@tristancleary But in the “Lazy” version he shook the ingredients. I’m not saying it’s the same as being muddled, but it’s a step that replaces the muddling. My point is, the Lazy version doesn’t seem that “lazy”.
Blanching mint and then putting into the mixer as you put agar agar through a coffee filter and then making it a soda into a Syphon and then make a cytric resolution with just water and cytric acid and then get the spirit is making a badass transparent mojito aswell...even though I prefer old fashioned ones 🙃
That sounds interesting! Never had good result by blanching mint myself. Always felt like it wast not vibrant enough compared to the fresh one. Maybe I'm doing it wrong
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks to be honest when I was in my country "Greece" I was blanching...and the flavour and aromas were rocking good...people were going crazy..I am in UK..and blanching the mint doesn't give me as good results...🤷 Must be another breed of mint or the climate 🤷

it's' official! you'll be invited to every party in town!
HAHAHA!!!
French Canadian accent is so sweet !
HAHA! Thanks!
Awesome recipes! What’s the BGM? It’s fantastic
I'm Finnish and that "Jola" hit me. Anyways nice video!
Definitely going to have to try all of these! I've been wanting to make my own cocktails for a while now and Mojitos are my favourite.
Amazing! Looking forward your feedback on it. Cheers!
these are the best videos!!
😀
The Pro Mojito is my favorite version, but I need to try the clarified. Good video!
Thanks 🙏
Clear mojito .. really cooL💚🍸
Thank you
Ooohh..... Those look so good. The clarified one is gorgeous :)
Thanks man! Cheers
Great summer cocktail 😋
The perfect poolside cocktail!
Mojito is actually my fav cocktail:) I never tried the clarified version didn`t even know it existed lol I think my fav would be the pro one but I`m probably gonna end up doing the lazy version xD
That clarification process has my mind BLOWN omg
HAHA!! Thank you! I also think it looks great, especially th Mojito. I was very satisfied with the taste as well. Cheers!
I really enjoy watching you thank you
Thank you!!!
You are awesome ❤️❤️
Great video. I would just say that Flor de Caña would be a better substitute for Cuban rum. Plantation 3 Stars is quite different than Havana Club, but of course, nothing wrong with it if that’s your preference.
Mojitos are my favorite summer cocktail. Love the 3 styles
Thanks! My heart is torn apart between Mojito and Daiquiri for the winner of that category
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks its a close call for sure. We did a video on a clarified daiquiri using Kevin's technique to clarify lime juice. IT WAS AMAZING.
@@carl_busch I’m sure it was
Mojitos are fantastic! My local Mexican restaurant makes a very good one.
Your music choice was spot on for a chill island vibe!
I've got a few of those mason jars that doing the "lazy" one at home seem like you've been bartending for years. Worth it if you like having people over.
Thanks! these songs are stuck into my head since I edited the video 😃
I think the last one is the coolest
Good choice ;)
All tha way from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪for that 😋😋😋👌Clarified mojito,am salivating
Cheers!
Real lazy: sprite, white rum, mint, ice and voilà
those look great! the lazy mojito could be a great way to pump em out fast in a bar while still having em look elaborate.
I'm simple man - thanks for easy lazy Mojito recipe! I see, last time, I was quite close! Cheers mate!
Cheers!
damn dude, got this recommended and subbed almost immediately, already managed to binge quite a few of your other vids too, awesome stuff :D
now I 100% wanna start experimenting with cocktails, starting with this one!
cheers from Czechia
it looks amazing, I think you could rince the paper filter with hot water first to remove all the paper taste that might go into the drink, this is practically a rule in the world of coffee, but as the drink is cold I don't think it will extract as much paper taste than doing coffee, just a sugestion
LOL if you look at the Manhattan Lazy, Pro, Clear video, I actually say that I don't mention that all the time but I should because evrytime I don't someone call me out on it HAHA!
와!! 다 해봐야겠다!! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for the milk trick! I'll make a big batch and use that when I'm lazy and want a mojito!
There you go! That's the spirit ;) Cheers! keep me posted on how you like it. Cheers!
The clarified mojito looks stunning!
Thanks! It was pretty tasty actually! Worth a try!
Thank u for the video and thank u for your effort
i have to clarify that mojito is NOT made with mint, but with "hierba luisa", which tastes like lemongrass
Great video! We would like to see some Tiki cocktails for this summer!!
I’ll do my best I promise
I can't wait to see how he clarifies some of the classics.
I will definitely try the clarified one!
Tag us or let us know what you think when you do. Cheers
Try a few drops of Angostura in it. Easy to do and makes a huge difference
Clarified version looks unreal with that piece of clear ice and mint garnish, great job! How would you get a Clarified Espresso Martini? I tried with lemon juice but not matching very well with coffee flavor.
Espresso Martini is in queued for trials
Sharp funny and had me smiling all the way through.. off to buy some rum!!
Thank you so much!!!
thank you so much for constantly putting up such delicious cocktails and concepts I love the clarified cocktails and I have tried out some and its always a party pleaser thanks and cheers
Thank you so much for the support! I also think clarified cocktails are often very satisfying !
Love these drinks

Thank you so much! We are really glad you appreciate the content!!! Have a wonderful day. Cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Thx! u2! :)
Very much enjoyed this video!
Thank you! Cheers
Thanks for the recipe! Loved it 😋
Amazing! I'm glad you did!
Cheers!
Love ur channel man
Thanks a lot! Cheers!
Love your channel! I’ve started clarifying cocktails and you’ve been very helpful!
Thank you Shivam! I’m really glad to hear that! Cheers
Is no one else gonna mention him calling the lime rinds "shells"??? Lmao
probably not. the rind or peel of some fruits and vegetables is also called a jacket. it's interesting, though, but in Spanish, the word for eggshell is the same as the peel of a fruit or vegetable.
Bilingual things, he's probably aware that it's not the exact word he's looking for, he later uses husk. The ideas the same though so whatever. My mom uses "heel" of the bread when she means the end of a baguette.
I made the pro version an it’s the best mojito I ever had!
Thanks a lot!!!
Terrific video, terrific cocktails.
Cheers!
Thank you!
man this is insane i loved it
Thanks
You rock man!!! You're the best!!!
Thank you!
lovely video. also amazingly clear voice, at first thought i was hearing a voice over :D
Thank you!!!
Hello Truffles On The Rocks. I'm a bartender and your big follower. Really love what you are doing on RUclips channel. I makes a lot of lime cordial at home, can you please show some great recipes, classic or signature with that. Looking forward to it!!! Sincerely your Follower.🙌🙌🙌Wish you all the best!!!
Nice fruit cocktail :)
Bro your the best
great vid! btw, the "h" in "hola" is silent, so its pronounced "ola". at least, thats how it is with mexican spanish, im not sure if cuban spanish is different in that regard
Hahaha! Probably not different, I will not try to pretend I speak Spanish so forgive me
It is not different. Learned "cuban" spanish in school (my teacher went there for 2-3 years)
I don't see much difference between the LAZY and Pro, apart from the crushed ice. I'd be happy to be served the LAZY version in a bar. But the CLEAR version looks incredible, would love to try one!
True it is pretty close. Side by side there's quite a major difference but as I try to do with this serie is to prove that the simple way can also be amazing! Cheers!
Well the main difference was the muddling. Which really is essential... given that mojito means muddled.
@@tristancleary But in the “Lazy” version he shook the ingredients. I’m not saying it’s the same as being muddled, but it’s a step that replaces the muddling. My point is, the Lazy version doesn’t seem that “lazy”.
@@iandayang fair. For me, muddling in glass is easier than shaking. So I totally get your point.
T’as un anglais qui est très bon et quasiment pas d’accent bravo, et merci pour tes recettes j’en ai utilisé en soirée tout le monde à adoré
Merci bcp! Ça fait plaisir de savoir que les recettes ont égaillé vos soirées :)
@@nikoslempidakis7929 that’s super interesting! I’ll dig deeper. Thanks for sharing.
