Don't move to Hawaii. Cost of living is beyond high. A shack of a house starts at $800K. Oahu is overrun and congested. Traffic is completely out of control. If you are working class, don't think you can make it work. The pay here is not adjusted to the cost of living. Visit, for a month or a year, then leave

I would say go to Hawaii because you WANT to be there, not because you DON'T WANT to be somewhere else.
The island lacked desirable employment and the heat or heat humidity was irritating I left.
