He’s saying BS, you’ll have a more guaranteed career & not be a one hit wonder if you produce to make a good song everytime. I’m Very dissapointed to hear him say that 1000 bad idea thing
He is talking about working through ideas. Most producers/writers have hundreds of song ideas on their drives and most get discarded because they just aren't good enough. That's just the reality of it. Why waste your time continuing working on something that you know isn't happening? No-one I know constantly shits gold. It's that classic thing wake up the next day and go "WTF was I thinking?". Just throw that shit away, and start again, It will bring you closer to your next incredible song.
RoyaltyProductionsDA Even deadmau5 said it's important to know when an idea isn't working and to ditch it and try something else. The more shitty ideas you get out your system the closer you get to making something good.
Mura putting all these beatmakers to shame by actually explaining what he did musically rather than just putting some drums over a sample and getting lucky with a big rap feature. Best episode in the series yet.
finally a beat that isnt just like 1) so yeah i got a sample from a sample pack 2) i added some snares and hi hats and kicks 3) uh then i put the 808 you know you just gotta have that vibe n that swing yeah thats it
100% The majority of producers around are waveriders. Sure it's good to enjoy something, but all everyone does is replicate and change it up a little. It's harder and harder to find authentic styles sadly.
Nice to see an actual fucking dope producer explain how they created an entire song rather than just throw drums over a basic ass sample like most of these trap producers for all the mainstream shit. I'd personally love to see more producers like Mura Masa on here... producers like Cashmere Cat, Flume, Clams Casino, Frank Dukes, araabmuzik, Hudson Mohawke x Lunice, Mr. Carmack, Sango, Monte Booker, Kaytranada etc.
Vertex well skin is pretty much a SOPHIE ripoff but more mainstream sounding, so it does sound like other stuff out there, his first album was way more original
Oh my god... this is a good video. It gives reassurance seeing that it’s not a super power to produce music like that he’s doing some of the most basic textbook stuff. So cool man, top 5 songs of all time for me.
Alex is such an amazing guy man :) He should get much more praise for the way he mixes in so many different interesting and unusual sounds, altered vocal patterns and dialogues. What's more he actually understands the cultural meaning of all he does and incorporates instruments like the harp which you hear very rarely in today's music. I think what he does is unique and I can't wait for more hits to come! :D
I've started producing and he's one of my biggest inspirations. I just love his music and how he pairs some of the weirdest sounds to create such amazing songs. If I can sound 1/100th as good as him one day I'll be a happy woman lol.
finally something more advanced than putting gross beat on a sample with some generic 808 on top of it, as 80% of so called producers do in more than half of the videos on this channel, also notice how humble he is
I was really surprised when I heard this song for the first time, and I was captivated! Bonzai's presence also made me feel the strength of a woman, so I listened to this song for a long time! Muramasa has the same name as a famous Japanese sword, so as a Japanese person, I felt a sense of affinity with it.
Such a humble guy ✨
Hi Majestic!

I knew you'd be here
Mura one of the coolest and refreshing producers out there
I agree
flume too
Mura putting all these beatmakers to shame by actually explaining what he did musically rather than just putting some drums over a sample and getting lucky with a big rap feature.
Best episode in the series yet.
Finally another deconstructed with some depth.
And something that isn't just a rap beat too!
Even EDM could be "rap beat". What is rap beat anyway?
which other ones do you like? curious cause i don't watch a lot of these because they're so shallow...would love to see more like this one
Crad4DRC Chance the Rapper's Problem is pretty great
Ah yeah, I enjoyed that one as well! BrassTracks definitely came through with that one.
So weird seing my favourite song being deconstructed like this, after you've lived with it for so long and have so many memories associated with it.
Exactly.
Yeah it’s trippy af
finally a beat that isnt just like
1) so yeah i got a sample from a sample pack
2) i added some snares and hi hats and kicks
3) uh then i put the 808 you know you just gotta have that vibe n that swing
yeah thats it
lmao too accurate
dont forget the " uhhh i halfsped it using grossbeat"
Ahmed Javed lmao @bighead
u know what as long as it sounds nice i really could not care less about how the beat was made
Jonas Pelmeni facts
finally, a talented producer who doesn't follow the formula every other type beat produce follows
G͟IG͟NG͟G͟NG͟EG͟G͟ G͟NG͟G͟HG͟G͟NG͟IG͟NG͟E I'm one of those guys lol.
Definitely refreshing. My ears are worn out from hearing the same basic loops with cut and paste drums
Agree
These producers are barely producing ... they even using midi hi hats now... shot is crazy out here lol
100% The majority of producers around are waveriders. Sure it's good to enjoy something, but all everyone does is replicate and change it up a little. It's harder and harder to find authentic styles sadly.
Oh finally some beat without using Grossbeat.
skykonradino loool
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You can use Gross Beat outside of FL
Thats the magic of ableton
Who cares
mura masa in my top 5 100%
pfft top 3 ugly
*Mura Masa ❤💥*
Thanx for bringing Mura masa
Nice to see an actual fucking dope producer explain how they created an entire song rather than just throw drums over a basic ass sample like most of these trap producers for all the mainstream shit.

Xeiku most of flumes songs are strait samples from samplephonics dont get it twisted
Vertex that is definitely true but by no means is Flume's music basic or sounds like anything else out there...
Vertex well skin is pretty much a SOPHIE ripoff but more mainstream sounding, so it does sound like other stuff out there, his first album was way more original
Skrillex maybe
I would literally die if flume did one of these

*I’ve always wanted to see how he made this all my life*
Oh my god... this is a good video. It gives reassurance seeing that it’s not a super power to produce music like that he’s doing some of the most basic textbook stuff. So cool man, top 5 songs of all time for me.

I've started producing and he's one of my biggest inspirations. I just love his music and how he pairs some of the weirdest sounds to create such amazing songs. If I can sound 1/100th as good as him one day I'll be a happy woman lol.

crazy that when he first sent it out to people they thought the ending was wack, that's my favorite part of the song

Muramasa has the same name as a famous Japanese sword, so as a Japanese person, I felt a sense of affinity with it.
