I think there is further symbolism behind the first chapter/ area/ whatever we want to call these. I think the symbolism is that nothing good happens in the protection stave and is a subtle que to tell Kratos and Atreus to leave and never look back. We all know Kratos has a bad habit of looking back.
And depending on the story and writer, they are literally his thoughts and memory. Without them, he's a husk and unable to remember things or form new thoughts.
The difficulty looks better balanced in Ragnarok compared to the 2018 GOW. I remember turning the difficulty down in 2018 cause it took years to defeat one enemy.

one of my only issues with the combat this time arround is that the little red arrow that tells you when your about to get attacked off screen, feels way too early or generous, like im usually found rolling and then getting hit after the roll, witch is wierd because it was very well timed in the first game, would be good if it was more precice in that area. other than that, loving the game.
I was watch Brad play this and he's such a casual. When I saw you, I just KNEW you would make it a challenge. I love seeing Kratos fight other GODS like it's a challenge instead of just running through them.

During the clash of the hammer/axe the fact that he said this is for modi spoke VOLUMES about how much he actually cared about him. Not only did the hammer NOT hit kratos but it was at a stalemate with the leviathan mediocre just like third punk ass son😂😂
The way they were leading up to it, they should have unleashed his rage for the first time right when that good punch made contact. Instead he reigned it back in. It almost makes me wonder if they're going to make Kratos like a Broly-esk type rage monster in the end. Or at least at some integral part of the story. Because when it's all said and done, Kratos doesn't need his BoC, or Levi to get the job done. He's the fucking GOD OF WAR 😈

the fact they don't have a port for this game on PC is such a disappointment the first game was one of my all time favorites, played it on ps4 in 2018 and since have made the switch to PC entirely.

Enjoying the series so far cowboy, but I kinda wish you weren't playing in GMGOW. These games are often not thoroughly play tested at the highest difficulties as I'm sure you are well aware. I fear these unnecessary beefy enemies, and deaths might bloat some episodes as a result and subtract from the viewing experience in my humble opinion. If you take this episode as an example, I'm confident you could have beaten thor in your 2nd or 3rd try even in GMNM difficulty and we would have gotten more content out of the episode.
Yeah, i tend to play on higher difficulties, unless its just enemies have bloated health and 2 shot you which seems to be the deal here. GMGOW should be left for ng+
