I would chase checking for a partially wiped cam lobe on that Silverado. Classic idle miss with noise that goes away with increased rpm. Book time for cam/lifters on those is around 28 hours, and suggests engine out.
Unreal i remember now that the Toyota was one of your Short videos.. wow everyone's wearing jackets in your shop.. it will get better soon Jimmy.. FROM TOM
hey Jimmy I sent you a little something to the shop this morning through amazon not sure i did correctly i wanted to make sure the package got to you !!! Keep up the great work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome as always Winter in the boat biz is steady just waiting for the spring rush We are having a heat wave this week we are going to in the mid to low 30s for temperatures
It's a shame about both the Chevy and Toyota engines. GM had an excellent engine in the original LS series. They had to screw it up with AFM design. It's getting to the point that you are damned if you do buy a new vehicle or damned if you don't.
It snowed in the mountains around us, rained just a little bit, not enough to show in the rain gauge. First moisture in 6 months. Temps in the 50,s to low 30,s in the morning. Could you just replace the lifter in the chevy
Hello,Jimmy. You mean to tell he left his car, what was his bill like 100 dallors. And on the chevy truck you can just replace the valve right ??? Had me thinking why would you buy a semi new truck with No warranty..
He did end up picking it up instead. I think a salvage yard bought it from him. The Silverado needs tear down, but the customer declined. Anything from a lifter, to cam and lifters, engine replacement also possible.
In 1985 I went to the get a water pump for my Pontiac Aster. My brother stayed behind and scraped the gasket off the engine with a flat head screwdriver. I used a whole tube of sealer to fill the gouges. Brothers can be very detrimental, I mean, helpful. You know what? Years later, while we were starting a burn pile in his back yard, I accidentally caught his gas can on fire. I guess you could say that I was returning a favor.
I am totally with you, i cannot work with such a messy workshop, plus it looks so unprofessional.
Man it really starts off my day in a bad way. I wish I could not be bothered by it, lol.
Thanks for starting the day off with me jimmy. Hate to see the Toyotas going down but I’m sure you guys are getting them all fixed.

On the day you filmed this video last week it was snowing north of you in Pensacola ! The whole south was seeing snow!
Wow, yeah, the weather has been cold in the south this year!
The Toyota oil spill was hart breaking. Thanksgiving dinner will never be the same.
Yeah, it was a tough one to watch! ;)
Jimmy, you need to get you a couple pairs of the new Milwaukee 12v Fuel thongs. Amazing on those brisk days. 😊
Those would be amazing! Thanks for the tip! Rofl

Sounds like you guys are in for a wild ride! That is cold for working on summer stuff, lol.

all that fancy tech is killing car and truck sales , I don't drive any thing newer then 2006
Yeah, mandates for emissions, fuel economy and engine size along with ever increasing profit driven production are doing some damage.

We need to dig a little deeper but the customer took it back where he bought it try with them.

god damn, that corolla arrived to you itself?
Yeah, it rolled in on its own. Amazing I also drove it into the shop since all he said was it stalls.
@JimmyMakingitwork toyota definitely makes the most reliable cars)

Ouch! Sounds like a rough day, but at least you got the engine to seal! 😂
Got em back! lol
sad about the Toyota brotherly love oil change , I wouldn't let any of my mechanically challenged relative's near my car EVER
Better safe than sorry. Haha
Saskatchewan is cold and a hole😂 Never understood why people lived there.
Man I’ve heard it is crazy cold there.
thats one hell of brother . I hope he has one hell of a bank💰 account! I remember mom telling me no good deed goes unpunished in the 80s ! 🔧🪛🔩👍
