mixture is irrelevant. Just use something that will hold the root system. Coco coir works on everything. I like vermiculite if you will be growing indoors.

If you only have access to branches in the fall, should you try rooting early or store and wait until later in winter to root?
If rooting in buckets, do those need a bag to cover it like the baggies?

once bag is sealed, you don't need to open it.

Planted two last Spring and gave away one.

Shrubs and trees depot has 5 different kinds of mulberry including the white pakistan 6$ a tree for 24inch great trees
