  • Air layering is a propagation method used by many growers to propagate those plants that tend to be harder to root such as the Pakistan mulberry. Very easy to do and your success rate will be literally almost 100%.
    In this video I show you step by step how to air layer. I also show what can happen if you delay checking your air layers and how to up-pot your rooted air layered plant. Patreon: patreon.com/QCTropicals (Exclusive perks!)

    I use a clear plastic bag as the initial layer as it keep moisture in and you can see when roots develop. I just have foil on the outside.

    Nice work, I've had the same issue on air layers; accidently damaging delicate roots.

    Even if you remove the cambium layer can water still flow to the tip of the branch through the sap wood?

    Шприцом нужно наливать воду один раз в неделю! Нельзя оставлять без полива, это уже отдельное растение в горшке. Оно корнями забирает всю влагу. Вот мой результат: ruclips.net/video/r3BpsZP0iO4/видео.htmlsi=ik2P5nnmOvgB7pGW ruclips.net/video/r3BpsZP0iO4/видео.htmlsi=ik2P5nnmOvgB7pGW

      @@qctropicals I watched your video about Pakistani mulberry invitro, which does not bear fruit. I'm guessing that if I air layered it could create flower buds like my apple tree. This is a plant’s protective reaction to stress to preserve the species. Look how many colors there are: ruclips.net/video/yxu_6lOf-7U/видео.htmlsi=2f0OxcLqcV2VFQ_F

      Но имейте ввиду, что на второй год цветов уже может не быть. Так было с моей яблоней. Если эксперимент удастся, то можно будет проверять какие плоды у молодых сеянцев шелковицы и не только. С Уважением.

      @@qctropicals YIKES! Needless to say that I should have checked it for typos. I heard that coir can be bad for plants due to being washed by sea water. I’m assuming your coir is fine since you didn’t mention any problems. Just wanted to know what brand you buy.

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Год назад +1

      @@elenilagan816 no salt issue. To be honest I have never experienced salt issues with any of my plants since I started. I feel that will be a topic for an upcoming "gardening myth" video. I don't stick to a specific brand, any will work.

    Pakistan - easily rooted; Shangri-La - easily rooted. Gerardi dwarf - it is impossible to root. Only cell culture or grafting
