Joost did live up to his message, he united people by his music and managed to bring a much bigger audience to Eurovision than ever before. What happened behind stage wasn’t completely his fault, het got harassed multiple times which got confirmed by other artists that they were victims of this aswell. You got to understand that Joost is a sensitive guy and that he gets easily overwhelmed in these type of cases. The camera women should’ve respected his privacy and shouldn’t have been there to start off with because the EBU themselves told all the paparazzi and such to not take any pictures after the performances because the artists had to go to the gathering room as soon as they got off stage.

This year for first time after ages I quite like the song and literally adore Isak but in general german electro/dub....music is now Unesco Heritage so why aren't they able to explore this tradition to send to ESC something totally different? I am mad about Apparat/ Moderat/ Monolink. They are immense....why not convey this heritage in national final?
Totally agreed but I think it would be too obscure for Eurovision and although their sets are a story being told through machines, at Eurovision you have to deliver in only three minutes.
Those genres are very good in Germany, but also in other countries. It's really not easy because it's a matter of culture, and that culture doesn't work with ESC. But I liked Taken by a stranger by Lena, which was way better than her winning song.

But....for many countries there are no images of the show. I guess not all have the money to produce a National Final, so maybe there are some juries that select singers and then annouce them they are the winners. I can't believe Poland doesn't have money for a show.
I can tell you from first hand experience( I live in the uk and we have no national final) it’s that it’s the national broadcaster who chooses it internally, which prob gave olly a boost as he has started in bbc shows before
As a Polish person I suspect that TVP avoided holding a whole show for two reasons 1) the whole Blanka-Jann drama and vagueness of last year's preselection 2) Government in Poland changed and with that people working in TVP. There was a huge mess around it, right-winged politicians locking themselves inside TVP headquarters, debates around this topic... Holding an Eurovision preselection was literally their last priority

Hello, Polish here. We didn't have a National Final this year because of 2 reasons: 1. Blanka-Jann controversy last year. 2. Our government has changed and there was a huge mess at TVP, so they weren't able to organize a NF.
