I've only played HS football but as a D line it was definitely a struggle. I always felt ridiculous about it but didn't knew even NFL players struggle with this lol !
Why wouldn't they. It's even harder now with the new Nike templates. Players use velcro or double sided sticky tape on their pads so jerseys stay tight
Have to admit, the one guy, helping, another said: Damn! Another said to a player, as he struggled to help him, "You know, I love ya" lol good that they work together
When I played in college I didn't have trouble getting it on but getting it off is a total battle. The little guys struggle the most though and I was a lineman so it wasn't too bad for me overall.
When I used to play for high school and 1 year in college. For me, it was easy put in on . But taken it off was annoying. Always asked my teammate for help
If you know the technique it's quite easy actually. Roll up the jersey, bow down to your weak side, grab the back of the pad with your strong hand, pull the pads forward and toward your strong side, until the head and arm are free, pull your strong hand out. You're free! Most people make the mistake of trying to pull it off straight, you gotta angle your body.
It's different with the Nike templates they been using since 2012. Nike is in their third template this season. Plus players use double sided sticky tape or Velcro on their pads to keep the jerseys tight
Skill position dudes I played with removed the straps from their shoulder pads cuz the jerseys were so tight they would hold in place and it gave them more freedom of movement…they also didnt wear knee or hip pads
I played center last year in 9th grade but im small for a center so they gave me a really small jersey and it took 5-10 minutes before and after to put my pads in the jersey correctly, put it on and then take it off
This is a side of football I had never considered. I had no idea the putting on & taking off of the pads & jersey was so complicated. But apparently, it's a huge hassle and headache.
Wonder how CPR was administered to Damar Hamlin quickly considering this. Did they have to cut them off? Could it be a potential safety hazard that inhibits medical attention?
Are you a child? I can tell you havent been around on this Earth very long if you have to ask if they cut peoples jerseys off.. YES they cut them off. Did you just come from the moon yesterday?? I seriously dont get how you had to ask this in the comments
I play high school ball and putting it on is harder for me. But another thing that’s hard and hurts a lot if you got long hair like me and after a few days of break and you put your helmet on it hurts like hell when the helmet is dry and your hair is not sweaty.
Just strange that it's never been designed to remove/put on by fasteners+straps located along only One Side. Jerseys then go first followed by fasteners
Since they CAN get them on and off, the clean, smooth fit during the game is more important than making those two moments a little easier. Also, I doubt there is anywhere along the whole height of the jersey where fasteners could be added that wouldn't get in the way (rub against an arm or torso, or get caught in the grass/turf).
ok look , Im Raider Nation until i die and then some , but theres just something ab that old AFL lookin *Red* Chiefs jersey at 1:31 got me missin the muddy color rush nights in Oakland t.t lookin Good KC, better than them powder blues ;o
In hs after every game or practice whenever I took them pads off it felt like I was Spider-Man ripping off the symbiote because those jerseys did NOT wanna come off
I don't know what level you're playing at. In lower levels (Pop Warner, junior/high school) the jersey is not custom made, so it's much looser. College, I'm not sure - it might depend on the school. But in NFL, it's made to fit that exact player (and their selected pads) like paint.
"The great ones make it look so easy." Those were both quarterbacks, whose jerseys are designed to fit MUCH looser than lineman, running backs, etc. Plus, those scenes were both at least 7 seasons ago (the Brady one was SB51 and Manning retired before that) - jerseys have steadily gotten tighter over the years.
So....did whoever made this thumbnail make it look like the 2 guys were fighting while Kittle was screaming 'Worldstar!' Because thats what the thumbnail looks like 😂😂😂 Also, im not surprised, those things are already tight on top of the pads, then factor in you running around and sweating for 3 hours, that jersey is akin to skin at that point
They need to talk to antonio brown he got it off ppretty easy
😂😂
Good one😂😂😂😂
he uses lots of baby oil. Sssh!
This is fuccin funny 😊😊
😂 facts
Real talk, NFL Films has been killing it this year with keeping me interested
I've only played HS football but as a D line it was definitely a struggle. I always felt ridiculous about it but didn't knew even NFL players struggle with this lol !
Facts

I remember During AB's meltdown he took off his uniform pretty effortlessly 😆 🤣 😂
Dudes a pro
I love how many time it's opponents helping each other 😂
Watching players from opposing teams help eachother take their pads off is the most wholesome thing ever
The guys are so buff and trying to shimmy out of that tight fitting gear can be a challenge.
Brad Johnson used to switch jerseys every quarter because of sweat when he was on the Vikings. Can’t imagine the pain
Absolute Mad Man!
Love these films. Thank you NFL Films
Jersys so tight now, it makes the chargers choke even harder
I played in high school in the 90's when everything was loose.....except the pants.
lmao "Pause Ron"
😂 4:25 He caught himself.
Its like rigging a parachute... can never do it alone
The “Pause, Rob” in the Browns clip sent me😂
Have to admit, the one guy, helping, another said: Damn! Another said to a player, as he struggled to help him, "You know, I love ya" lol good that they work together
Taking the jersey and pads off after a brutal loss must suck.
When I played in college I didn't have trouble getting it on but getting it off is a total battle. The little guys struggle the most though and I was a lineman so it wasn't too bad for me overall.
Did you have any of the current Nike templates from 2012-present? Different
When I used to play for high school and 1 year in college. For me, it was easy put in on . But taken it off was annoying. Always asked my teammate for help
Good seeing Ricky Williams

Damn. Seeing DT caught me off guard. Good stuff as usual NFL Films
ive almost suffocated trying to take my pads off especially with those tight game jersey. ist a scary abyss!!
Good to know it’s not just me
Nah watching dbates reaction to Henry throwing that lil boy is too perfect
Skill position dudes I played with removed the straps from their shoulder pads cuz the jerseys were so tight they would hold in place and it gave them more freedom of movement…they also didnt wear knee or hip pads
Love the process. Wiggle-wiggle-wiggle-fighting to the death- POP!- player is free!
Devonta Smith did it right!
I played center last year in 9th grade but im small for a center so they gave me a really small jersey and it took 5-10 minutes before and after to put my pads in the jersey correctly, put it on and then take it off
1:36
Lotta players use double sided sticky tape or Velcro on their pads so the jerseys stay tight. Hard to grab jerseys
This is a side of football I had never considered. I had no idea the putting on & taking off of the pads & jersey was so complicated. But apparently, it's a huge hassle and headache.
Yeah its pretty annoying haha
fr derick henry would be the scariest o-lineman
Wonder how CPR was administered to Damar Hamlin quickly considering this. Did they have to cut them off? Could it be a potential safety hazard that inhibits medical attention?
You cut them open, all pads have a lock system in the middle that can be cut or opened with a tool.
In most trauma scenarios. Cutting clothes is second nature to access patients
Clothing does nothing to interfere with CPR, as for using the AED on him it's no different than using it on literally anyone else, just cut th shirt
Shhhh.... just go with it
Are you a child? I can tell you havent been around on this Earth very long if you have to ask if they cut peoples jerseys off.. YES they cut them off. Did you just come from the moon yesterday?? I seriously dont get how you had to ask this in the comments
imagine the felling taking it off after losing the superbowl 😂
I play high school ball and putting it on is harder for me. But another thing that’s hard and hurts a lot if you got long hair like me and after a few days of break and you put your helmet on it hurts like hell when the helmet is dry and your hair is not sweaty.
Jerseys be too tight 😂
idk man Antonio Brown seemed to do it pretty fast

What are you talking about
@@houseofchinn6112exactly what he just said
@@DominicRogers-gs1fm which makes no sense. Hence
@@houseofchinn6112 it does make sense, da otha guy explained why they don’t do that but it’s not that hard to comprehend what he’s tryna say
Fax i feel their pain
ok look , Im Raider Nation until i die and then some , but theres just something ab that old AFL lookin *Red* Chiefs jersey at 1:31 got me missin the muddy color rush nights in Oakland t.t lookin Good KC, better than them powder blues ;o
Even as a youth I can agree taking of and putting pads on is harder than running sprints
This is facts
yeah i dont need help
Peyton and Tom made it look easy
Seems like their pads and jerseys are too small. Never seen player struggle like this before.
someone needs to develop some kind of a flexible pad 😂
They are...Tech. lotta guys use custom X tech pads. Players have double sided sticky tape or Velcro on their pads as well
This video gave me anxiety thinking about Highschool gameday 🤣
In hs after every game or practice whenever I took them pads off it felt like I was Spider-Man ripping off the symbiote because those jerseys did NOT wanna come off
Imagine getting injured because you were taking off your Jersey 😭🤣
How about putting them on how they were designed, or better yet how about design a better one that you can strap up easier for it to be a one man job.
I played football when I was young and they are right. The oads on and off are the worst😢😢
Fr this sucks 😂
The tight jerseys are terrible. Go back to 15-20 years ago. They looked cooler too.
4:32 he said pause?😭😭
Peyton and Brady 😂 They used the loosest jersey ever
Ok first I love that its often opponents helping! But what I wonder about too is all the shoulder injuries how if they will get cut out too?
I’m sorry but I will never call Darius Leonard “Shaquille”
Lol this is the part of Jersey swaps you don’t see. If you’re giving it away you know you’re cool with the other player
bruh how do NFL'ers not know about rolling the jersey up so that it doesnt stick to ya
Yeah it sounds so awful. If only our veterans got paid millions to take their uniform off and put it on.
Oh yeah I know getting them shoulder off is hard asf
How they not get Vita Vea struggling to get his off in the background during the after game interview last year?!?!
I would hate to have an itch while wearing pads and a jersey. Pain can be tolerated, but itches? Unbearable!
It’d feel like having an itch while getting a haircut
Bend over! Pause Ron pause Ron.
Proof Antonio Brown is the goat
Ahhh Derrick Thomas we miss you
This is cute lol ❤
what ya expect i think KNIGHTS back in the DAY need assistance as well lmao called ARMOR for a REASON
aye anyone whos played football knows how hard it is lmao
I put my pad on first, then jersey, no idea why they are doing it that way.
when i played we used to do that, but taking off your pads with the jersey was the hard part
they say in the video that they tape the jersey to the pads
I don't know what level you're playing at. In lower levels (Pop Warner, junior/high school) the jersey is not custom made, so it's much looser. College, I'm not sure - it might depend on the school. But in NFL, it's made to fit that exact player (and their selected pads) like paint.
Putting your jersey on with pads is impossible unless its peewee football.@ignaciojimenez4473
This alone will turn a lot of potential future stars from ever playing this game 😂😂😂😂
reminder that trubisky made a pro bowl
True Story😂
"The great ones make it look so easy." Those were both quarterbacks, whose jerseys are designed to fit MUCH looser than lineman, running backs, etc. Plus, those scenes were both at least 7 seasons ago (the Brady one was SB51 and Manning retired before that) - jerseys have steadily gotten tighter over the years.
fax😂😂 those jerseys were loose asf
fax😂😂 those jerseys were loose asf
When are we gonna get some Steelers in these vids.
Go to 4 30 “pause, Ron”
Yeah I was looking for this commenf
Who’s winning the superbowl?
How did antonio brown get out so fast then
He took off his pads. Not jersey. Jersey stay on pads
This was very assuming well done NFL flims. Ive played and yesh its hard af to get those things and off!
Real secret is to put the pads on first without the jersey, then put the jersey on
😂😂😂😂😂
Was in the league for 3 years and this is facts
Lol
This seems like something that would give girls the ick
?
So....did whoever made this thumbnail make it look like the 2 guys were fighting while Kittle was screaming 'Worldstar!' Because thats what the thumbnail looks like 😂😂😂 Also, im not surprised, those things are already tight on top of the pads, then factor in you running around and sweating for 3 hours, that jersey is akin to skin at that point
Lol I think QB is the hardest thing in the nfl
These Nike jersey’s are just terrible
Taylor Lewan talking to Derek Henry while Henry isn’t giving a crap about what he is sayin. 😹😹😹😹😹
Loser *
Damn this gave me anxiety 😂
I remember playing as a kid, my fat ass had that jersey like a second skin. That thing was brutal to put on and take off
