I don't have the slightest idea if this is a "hot take" or not (haven't been a Gears "fan" since early Gears 3), but I'm actually now glad that they made the "Hammerburst" the "Hammerblast", but then gave us the Markza as well. As someone who favors precision fire and mid-range firefights in games (and having a weapon identical in function, but to each faction's flavor), having an almost guaranteed mid-range, semi-auto firearm has always appealed to me. That said, I wouldn't have minded seeing the OG Hammerburst sprinkled im here and there in a "it didn't get phased out; it's just obsolescent, and the more precision variant is currently favored". Could be a fitting alternate weapon for the Grenadiers to give them a bit more flavor.
