Why is it that every time I listen to Derek play slide , I can't help but think that Duane is sitting up in heaven , taking a nice long toke , and going ....dam that boy can play can't he
I know BB famously said that he heard A Derek solo that was as pretty as anything he had ever heard, and all I can say is - I have never heard a solo of this classic that was as captivating as this one. Thank you D (and Susan - nice solo yourself). All the best
I have always thought that. Mike has a great voice. I really wish Susan didn't think she had to sing every song. But hey, maybe Mike just wants to sit back and be fine with it.
Big Mama Thornton, Koko Taylor and Memphis Minnie would no doubt disagree with this “observation”… although I wish they were still with us, I am kinda relieved that they didn’t have to read such a ridiculous statement.
Susan could carry this off even without Derek in my opinion .Not to say that he isnt a fantastically talented giutar player just they have to share the glory together I think she as a singer and guitarist is more indispenable and can hold the audience better.
It would appear that you have never seen TTB live…. I couldn’t disagree more. Everybody on that stage knows their role completely, and nobody overpowers the others.
Susan plays with soul. Derek is obviously a great slide player but getting tired.of his overplaying. Sounds trite...plz stop the comparisons to sky Dog...lacks Duane's tonality and phrasing...there was one and only one Duane Allman...just because a man plays electric slide doesnt mean he plays at the same level as a skydog or lowell george or a ry cooder. Trucks is good but overplays severely....mostly has little to say through his solos. Susan on the other hand says a lot through her economical and heartfelt solos. Proving that blues is about feel.
i am 81 years old and i grew up on old school rock and roll-this band here shows the world that soul has no color . we are all the SAME !!!
Why is it that every time I listen to Derek play slide , I can't help but think that Duane is sitting up in heaven , taking a nice long toke , and going ....dam that boy can play can't he
Makes me think there may be something to reincarnation after all...
:)
I like it but he is way too busy and uses way too much vibrato, I actually like Warren's slide better
This lady has one hell of a great voice/stage presence 😎
love Tedeschi and Trucks, not well enough known this side of the Atlantic
vocalist has an incredible blueness
And THAT, my friends, is how you do the blues.
Brilliant
And some truly amazing guitar work ……….
Is this just a dream or is it reality? Marvellous ... When will you play in ol' Germany?

Mike Mattison is one of the best male blues singers I've ever heard. But when he is sharing the lead vocals, he should be up front.
That Derek Trucks can sure play slide - 'nuff said...
Always a great song to listen to. Nice voices.
great singer,,,the man...
Gregg Allman said it best when asked about Derek, "...if you believe in reincarnation..."
i just discover this yesterday,,,never know about this group..and my first thought was: Allman Brothers...
Thanks for sharing!
just awesome
Bill Broonzy wrote a great song. Good cover.
Slow slow slow...
Just like the Layla album version......great job......
Pieknie brzmi stary nr rj
This is good, but listen to Derek and the Dominos version. How can you go wrong with Eric Clapton and Duane Allman?
Derek trucks got his inspiration in the Layla album when he was a kid
Amen.

Vocals on this are far better,D&D was Clapton going 'pop'.
Son mejor de Eric Clapton en esta version
Who's the male singer.... great voice..!!!
Wim Kugel that is Mike Mattison, the singer for Derek Trucks Band prior to the Tedeschi Trucks Band
Thank You..... I will look for some music with that Guy..
@@wimkugel3453 start with their album Joyful Noise
Mike mattison should be up front and given more vocal time. He rips this song, fabulous talent.
I have always thought that. Mike has a great voice. I really wish Susan didn't think she had to sing every song. But hey, maybe Mike just wants to sit back and be fine with it.

This one is for you hot dog bob. RIP
whats the lyrics?
Lock and key💙🎶🎶
Mike and Susan front line equals...
Rock and blues music is a mans world always has been always will be!!!
How so??
Big Mama Thornton, Koko Taylor and Memphis Minnie would no doubt disagree with this “observation”… although I wish they were still with us, I am kinda relieved that they didn’t have to read such a ridiculous statement.
Get the singer up front this looks ridiculous. He has a bangin vocal. This is circus stuff.....
Susan could carry this off even without Derek in my opinion .Not to say that he isnt a fantastically talented giutar player just they have to share the glory together I think she as a singer and guitarist is more indispenable and can hold the audience better.
I prefer Johnny Winter's version !
Just tried to listen to a Keith Richards version 🤮. Now this is what I'm talkin' bout'
shove your phone
This band reminds me that anybody that asked to be in got in and nobody could say no. Way too many people on stage.
It would appear that you have never seen TTB live…. I couldn’t disagree more. Everybody on that stage knows their role completely, and nobody overpowers the others.
Susan's solos are weird
